uestion for you Diablo addicts. I'm playing hard now and as of midway through act 1 I no longer have enough money to repair anything nor do I have ANY piece of armor or a weapon that is not broken.

How the fuck do I get money to fix shit when I'm naked fighting with my fists?

Remind me not to play this drunk again. [/quote:

So I'll just assume I'm screwed here? I really don't see any reason for me to keep playing this at this point. Stupid liquor.

There are a few options here, though you may like none...

One is to go back to an earlier part of the game and farm enough for the repair bill... I'm not sure that would be any fun, except that there's already an achievement for doing it on boss fights...

Two is to have someone else carry you in an MP game...

Three is that since your gold is shared across characters, start up a new one (or play an already mid lvl one).

Edit: Oh and sign the petition about the repair costs... Petitions always work...

I've stated, 'D3 is great, it has some problems that need to be sorted out, but overall it's fantastic. I don't have a problem with online only, but would still like to see an offline mode.'

What the trolls see is, 'D3 is great, blah blah blah blah blah blah, but blah it's fantastic. I don't have a problem with online only, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.'

To be more precise, I think what they see is 'There are no problems with online only' : ) Like when a gaming company (let's say Blizzard) says that they would like to add 'this' feature, and a year later, when the game launches, people scream that they didn't get what was promised...

So. We're in completely defensive gear and builds, not getting drops and can't progress past Act 2. It's just horrible game design. I'm sure I could grind gold for a few days and go BACK to the AH and possibly buy some better gear, but honestly it's just not fun anymore. It's one thing to grind out Act 1-4 through all the difficulties, at least the scenery changes. Now we're stuck grinding Act 1 over and over, for seemingly no reward for our time. Bleh, I'm just done.

I'm really bummed to hear that dude, I know you're a pretty patient guy too. I don't know if its any help at this point but I might have some extra Barb gear on my DH. I agree that the game is pretty rough for melee though, it takes a massive investment on the AH just to do content that ranged can do in cheap, lower level gear.

I'm actually having a much easier time on my Barb than my Wiz... But then, gear is always an issue... on Monday, I could progress, slowly, on either, but wasn't doing enough to make it worth it... As of last night, I had a 'too easy' time on the Barb in the first half of Act II (with a few good, challenging fights'), and the second half is getting hard (I agree with the snakes comment earlier - was one of my harder combo's - most have been 0 to 1 death).

As for stats, I'm at 8.6k DPS base, 40k health, ~350 resists... Uhm... what else matters? Some elite/champ fights are long (Wrath helps), but a lot of them weren't a threat (30% revenge is fun to mash : ).

As for gear not dropping... I'm not sure what the 'better' alternative is... I've always hated farming for gear... especially in a system so random, but that aspect of the genre hasn't changed in 15 years... Maybe if they'd stuck with their one set of gear for Inferno, the implicit difficulty increases along the acts would have been better for a lot of people... Now that you have a single act to 'fully' gear up instead of an entire difficulty, it requires too much repetitition : )

And all the mouth-breathing fanboys all go "great patch blizz, ur teh stuff!".

Really? Comments like that are no better than Wallshadows.

I've seen nothing but anger over this patch, from EVERYONE, and it's well deserved. They overreacted with the changes in many areas instead of focusing on dealing with the real cause of the problem(s).

Even bigger irony is, the only people that can afford to run Inferno now, ARE the bot farmers.

Not everyone... I'm loving this patch...

Act II Inferno, for my Barb, when from stupid hard to challenging, and it's great... I still die on some stuff, but only when I get stuck, or some other bad timing issue...

Repair costs seem a bit extreme, but I'm still making gold, and having more fun in Inferno (Act II) than ever... Pre-1.0.3, I really enjoyed the ramp up for Act I, but now I'm eagerly looking forward to Act III.

Edit: Oh and I'm getting more rares than ever... Sure, 90% of them are still garbage, but the mats helped me make a pretty nice (200 dex, 100 vit, regen, etc) belt for my future Inferno Monk... After I found the recipe to make it btw... 5 random stats : ) Anyone wants to roll the dice, it's about 45k gold and a bunch of blue/yellow/tomes.

The Dell Inspiron All-In-One offers a 27" screen with the same rez as the iMac.

As for the iMac, Apple sent a clarification stating that the MacPro would be seeing its update in 2013... right after the outcry when the exec said MacPro and iMac.

So some are taking that correction to mean iMac in 2012.

And some are taking it to mean iMac in 2014

-

Dell also has a 27" standalone monitor with the same guts as the apple cinema dsiplay (or whatever it's called,) minus the apple pricetag/tax

What apple pricetag/tax we talking about here?

I get that people like to complain apple prices are bloated, when comparing a shitty piece to a high end piece, but the 27" dell monitor is $999 (here), and the apple one is $999 (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC007LL/A)...

True, but as he was talking about getting an iMac... I imagine he was looking for an All-in-One solution.

Otherwise, why not just say "wait for a 27" IPS Monitor"

Hence the Dell AiO

Actually I'm waiting for an iMac, because I do dev on it... And don't want to build a hackintosh : )

I have zero intentions of buying a new 60" TV anytime soon, and 1080p is more than enough. I can already see the pot marks on actor's bad skin. Any bit sharper would probably make me want to vomit. As for 3D.. zero interest in that too... that shit gives me a splitting headache within 20 minutes.

I'm with you on this... I've watched like 2-3 things on blu-ray (or just simply, higher than DVD quality), and I don't need it...

They're not going to call it the 720 are they? That's just begging for Sony to come out with the Playstation 1080p and tell everyone that they've got Full HD.

Wow, what a huge mistake that would be for PS3...

Assuming ~10 years is accurate, and why wouldn't it be considering the length of PS3/360... 1080p won't be 'full HD' in half that time...

1440p baby! That's where it's at...

Isn't that around the time all the major ISP's become the MPAA's bitches and start sending threating letters to people because they think that sometime, somehow they might just have downloaded something they shouldn't have? And it doesn't matter what the person says, they are guilty and never proven otherwise?

I got such a letter many years ago... It specifically mentions the time and content (movie)...

And warns you to stop and that further action could result in some blah blah... blah...

Edit: Canadian Caps... 3.9% is scoffworthy... And nothing new... Just about every product, even those created locally, are pricier in Canada as compared to the US... Having 10 times the population (the US) changes some things...

All I need to do, is stop playing Diablo 3... Which, could happen, because it's hurting my hand... Oddly, I think from the lack of clicking all the time : )

They are still making the Sims FOR FUCKS SAKE!. SOMEBODY is buying that shit, and believe me, people have also pirated the shit out of it too. Yet it goes on...and on...and on.

The whole "Piracy ruins everything!" translates EXACTLY to "We need more hookers and blow. Pay us MORE for less dammit!"

I dunno, it seems like the perfect size to me, but I'm all for customization.

See, that's just it, thank you for actually having an open mind. Just because something "works for you", doesn't mean you have to be bias and attack someone who suggests an alternative. All we, and I say "we" because there are 1000's of posts on forums about it, want is for the ability to scale the size of some of the interface. You know, like in so many other games. That's it. But instead, we have fanbois or people who are okay with the minimap size flaming us all day long. If you use default movement keys, and the game doesn't let you change them, would you flame people for asking to? No? Then shut up, because it's the same damn thing.

Out of the 30+ friends list - no one cries about it but you. No one else has had such a bug up their A that they damn near refuse to play the game. It is as though you have this problem that is so severe that it detracts from your game when something is so far out of the play area that you feel the need to stare at it.

I dunno. You appear to make it a bigger problem than it actually is....in fact your only posts on the game mention it, in fact in one post you actually mention that it drives you insane. Might want to look into that. It isn't normal.

I'll ignore your aversion to math or statistics, and maybe help highlight the problem...

'You appear to make it a bigger problem than it actually is, for me'...

Glad I could help...

And all I saw from his original post, was a request for the change... not an 'O M F G, this is BS; I'm quitting until this complete disregard for my eyes is punished... with a whip...'.

No, it's not the elites per se. It's how they can go from being a fun battle that requires a bit of care to instant death with no opportunity to manage the situation (or should I say "play").

That's exactly what is wrong with the pack affixes right now, some are literally unbeatable when your combine their base mob abilities with the affixes. The terrain you're fighting on makes a big difference too, generally lack of ability to kite will mean death. It's not something you ever really outgear either which makes it a pretty annoying balance issue.

Well except the chap said he only got midway through nightmare. I don't recall it being much of a challenge at all at that point. Maybe he could post what skills he is using? Because I don't think nightmare is really that gear dependent.

The entire game, including normal, is gear dependent... It's just more of a requirement in later difficulties/acts... Some people truly have bad luck with drops, and have trouble on fights in Normal... I know, it's crazy to even imagine ; )

It's also avoidance dependent...

Frozen orbs are launched long before they blow... Move earlier...
Arcane balls are launched long before they 'shoot'... Move earlier...
Molten/Desecration... Watch for it, and move as soon as it touches you... Especially when Jailer or Waller are involved...
Fire Chains... Move often... Don't ever be the monkey in the middle...
Mortar... Is meant to be fought in melee range... If you're purely offensively geared, you're likely already ranged, so you can outrange it, with lots of kiting... But if not, or if melee, get up and personal... Unless they're ranged mobs, because those fuckers will spread out and mortar you from 3 sides... In which case, use corners : )

Some other affixes make the above harder, like vortex with arcane... When there are 3-6 beams down, and you get sucked right into the middle, there's nothing you can do (depending on your OP abilities and mashing/lag timings), except... you guessed it... move earlier... For vortex, don't let the mobs stand in desecration/arcane areas...

Thing is... most of the combinations people complain about, I giggle (yes, like a school girl) at, because I want those easy combinations (which just means I know how to avoid them)...

And that's not to disregard the comment about space... When I enter a cave, and the very first pack, practically in view of the door, has affixes that need space to avoid, well, I die a little inside...

Gawd, what a great community of elitist assholes we have here...

Do YOU remember your first post? Did you finally decide to sign up and share your opinion because you were... wait for it... excited about how much fun you're having in a game?

Actually, I guess you all signed up to correct someone, or talk about how bad a game was...

News Flash for those without the common sense to realize it; not everyone likes the same thing. Liking a game you don't doesn't make them a shill, or a fanboy... Using those terms says so much more about you, than the person you're trying to disregard. It's about time you grow up.
