What issues are the steam forums talking about? Just launch servers being overwhelmed?
Crashes, bugs, servers not working, beta being better then retail game, etc etc

Think they uploaded the wrong version?

I know that reference!

Oh there's no stopping me. I've managed to find $1.83 in my couch cushions and also have earned $2.50 by whoring myself out to all the women in my area (at $5 a pop - it's complicated). Quick - somebody do the math to see how far I have to go!

Can I do the math like the Count?

"One! That's one time whoring yourself out.
Two! Two times whoring yourself out.
*fast forward*
Nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety six times whoring yourself out. Ah ah ah!"

You might get a bit tired by the end there. Pack a lunch.

Maybe some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?

I missed the boat on Payday 1, but I picked up the beta and pre-order of Payday 2 and have really enjoyed it. I would say don't bother if you are only doing single player. The AI is like an ogre - dumb but almost invincible. I have had the stupid AI stand there doing nothing while I'm trying to zip tie a whole lobby of people. The only thing they do remotely well is soak up gunshots and kill cops.

Now with that said, multiplayer is a BLAST! I haven't had a rude person yet, everyone is helpful. And the first smash-and-grab mission is fantastic when done as a team - you have 30 seconds to smash jewelry cases, bag the jewels, and get out. Absolutely impossible in single player, so it turns into a 30 minute firefight. But in MP if you coordinate it's a sub-30 second mission.

Highly recommend this - get the four pack if you have some friends that want it too, then you have friends to play it with, and it saves you about $8 a copy.

I had a dick in my first MP game... Some lvl 30 (max) lvl guy, joining a game with lvl 1's, 2's, and then bitching about how he hates to play with noobs... I saw his level before the game started, so don't know why the 'not a noob' couldn't see that, and choose another game...

Outside of that, a lot of people are inexperienced, including myself, and it's still been a lot of fun... Failing a heist sucks, but it's still neat, and new enough, that it's alright.

As for single player, I only did a bit, and played with a friend and 2 bots a few times. It's not horrible, and if you have a mission with a dozen bags that need to be moved, you're likely fucked, as they just follow you around and shoot. One thing they do, that's awesome, is help you back up (keep an eye on that shield, and use the cover often).

I'm not sure I like it enough to pick it up... I don't like the 'progression'... As in, you do a heist and get a random mod/cash/etc... But at least it has skill trees (ammo/medic bags are crazy useful, but the others, not so much).

You only get two keys in the Humble Bundle (one for the first four games and one for the rest), so keep that in mind if you were planning on giving away keys for the games you already own.

Just to clarify.. You mean one key for SR 2/3, Sacred and Risen? And then a single separate key for DeadIsland/SR3-full? I imagine Riptide would have to be separate, so third key.

I can't think of any combo that isn't confusing...

Edit: N/m... found it on reddit... 3 keys for the 3 levels...

I enjoyed Cliffski's video, and promptly threw some money at him... : )

Looking forward to trying out the GTB, but the others hold no interest for me. If only 40-50 un-played games weren't waiting in the way...

Yeah, the embarrassment of every steam owner: "You already own...wait, what?!"

I have never had this happen, but I do find it quite funny : )

Regarding other comments... I played the hell out of Terraria (300h), and Dark Souls (~100 ish).

There's a Rogue Legacy demo on http://www.roguelegacy.com/, and I think a few of the regulars might like it... Kind of like a Binding of Isaac platformer, but with some persistent RPG elements.

If we're talking the Zelda'ish style game from many many years ago, I played and liked it... Would be interesting to see a sequel.

I wanna be a swarm of little StinkBois, or whatevet the hell they are called.

Note: I don't want to be a character who controls the swarm. I want to be the swarm itself.

Like the dog pack consciousness in A Fire Upon The Deep.

DO SOMETHING UNIQUE DOG DAMMIT! Stop pooping out reskins.

Ya know what, forget it. Pearls before swine. Some subgenius would implement it as a single character with an "animation" of little creatures flipping around, rather than as a literal swarm of independent, swarm-behavior entities.

Too much for the common yokel programmer to implement. And the powers would be single-character instead of well thought-out swarm-based things based on actual independent creatures.

Err... the bandwidth and amount of processing power to implement 500 individual AIs and animate them all for the sake of *one* player is kind of absurd. Imagine a thousand players on a server, each with a 500 snotling horde. That's 500,000 gamestates you have to keep track of, store, and sync, and that's just for a handful of players.

Don't defend the yokels!

Logic and thought have no place here.

26. Re: Diablo III Expansion in 2014? Jun 12, 2013, 13:23 Alamar

So here's a thought...

As most of us know, Blue's News curmudgeon's don't meet the same demographic as just about any genre of games these days...

Plus, there has been a LOT of bitching on here about how much of a flop D3 was. There has been a lot of excusing D3 sales numbers because of the annual WoW thingy, and people's expectations based on D2.

But what if the expansion sells a crap-ton? Can we really still use the same excuse that people are buying it 'blind' based on D2?

We definitely know there are Microsoft shills here too, not very surprising. Basically anyone who likes Windows 8 and Xbox One is pretty much guaranteed to work for Microsoft.
Yeah...well xbox one I couldn't care less about. Windows 8? It's not bad, and I do like it. Especially the autorestore feature for a nuked install. Start8 fixes the menu problem. Oh and if you think I'm a paid shill, I've had an account on here since before said companies thought of shills. Note the UID, there aren't many regular posters in the sub 3500 category these days, then again...with your ID in the 56k range...you could be a shill. Just a very cleaver one.

I was pretty sure he was just being silly/sarcastic... 'Everyone that likes XX product works for the company' is pretty extreme...

As for the UID... I hope you were too, because otherwise, that's pretty stupid : )

I think the skill tree is a mess. Yes, it can be comprehended with a little effort but at first glance it is chaos. Couple that with little to no in-game programmatic help and it is quite a turn off.

I understand where you're coming from but I think you're letting yourself be intimidated by the sheer grandeur of it.

Once I decided I wanted to be a dual-wielding warrior, it took me less than 2 minutes to find out which path I had to take. At that point I could ignore the rest.

I think you're strengthening his point... By saying that you can ignore most of it, you're confirming that it's chaos (but you have a strategy). The problem is that you have experience with the game, the stats, etc... That's not obvious to the brand new players, who need the most (preferably in-game) help.

Have you played every single game, watched every single movie and TV series, ate every single piece of food on every restaurant, read every single book and comics you ever criticized?

Yes... Why would someone waste time trash talking something they don't know about?

However, it's a moot point, because, even having played a game (for a few hours), or read a comic, doesn't give you enough information to judge it's entirety. In short, people are lazy and disregarding, or simply, just like to judge/label.

Most people (I have ever known) will not tell you that the music they don't like, they don't like... They will tell you that it's crap : ) This is true of other forms of media, including games, movies, sports, etc...
