Things can always be worse, or better...

But only being sore on one side is dreamy heh... I hurt my neck/back last week, and there was no position I could lie down in, that wasn't painful... And I also need to change position often during the night, so those nights were pretty crappy... I feel great now though ; )

That's the great part about being sick/injured/etc... The day when it stops, you can take a full breath, and just... Enjoy the lack of pain/suffering ; )

I too wonder how the difficulty works, as you have some folks saying it's a breeze, while others say it's quite the challenge.

I do like that it encourages stealth, and I find that if I want to survive, I have to creatively thin the pack a bit before diving into the fray.

If you ignore the fact that every game has people both complaining about how easy it is, and other people complaining about how hard, the major point here is the combat is very similar to Batman... So people that got really good at those games (not myself) will find this a breeze... Now that I've played through, and know my abilities, I could start over, and likely do the entire game without dying, and it would be easy (especially with a few choice runes).

And for those that are having a harder time and did not advance the story much, do the story stuff. Depending on where you're at, some 'core' abilities get unlocked and makes life much more manageable.

I really enjoyed Shadow of Mordor... Steam put me at 22h when I beat the campaign story, but I didn't rush, or collect 100%.

The only real issue I have with the game is when you're in a 'downed' state, you have to hit a button quickly... I'm using a controller, and I don't have the buttons memorized, so I often hit the wrong one : )

I wouldn't mind going through it again, on a higher difficulty, but that doesn't exist... If it did, all the captains would be Battle Master's (I think that's the term), and not be damaged by finishing moves. Those buggers can be a huge pain.

So.. Knowing nothing about this game, I check the steam page... Great.. Two videos... Neither of which tells me even the slightest bit of info about the game... Guess I can check back when it's $5 ; )

It will be released next month. Maybe preorder numbers are not high enough so they are trying to build up hype with all these trailers.

Preorder numbers are never high enough... As in, it's not possible...

I buy like one thing every 5 years on amazon, so that won't be much help, but I'll try to remember to click the link first, in a few years ; )

Steam says I've put in 12h so far... Good times... My opinion is unchanged, and I'm still having a lot of fun...

I also took a 19m Shadowplay of a massive 100 on 1 fight, where I eventually died, but holy crap, that was some hectic fun : )

I am enjoying the hell out of this game... The dynamic Sauron's Army stuff is great... Running around killing captains, and dying a few times, is fun... And the one(/two) liners are great for immersion...

The combat is more fulfilling than Batman, maybe only because it includes chopping off heads and other kills... I know lots of people hate the QTE aspect, and the floaty combat, but I'm not sure how you can do 1 vs 20 combat without that, or a lot of OP AOE. I mean, OP AOE is a lot of fun, but if you consider games like the Souls series, you very rarely fight more than 2 opponents (because you're very likely to die : ).

Anyhow, highly recommended ; )

I thought it looked great previously, and then there was a 20% off on Steam... I was tempted, and you know what turned me off? It was $30, not $50... Go figure heh... But I'm like... Oh... Must not have that much content. So we'll see how reviews/comments go, and maybe I'll get it after I'm bored of Warlords and Shadow of Mordor.

I dunno, I don't much care for this QTE-style combat adopted from Screed and Arkham. Instant counters, traversing yards at a time instantly, "press A to do spiffy animation attack"... all makes me feel pretty detached from the action. Wish they'd gone with a more deliberate, tactile system.

I really enjoy the D* Souls games, and would love to play that in a world like this... But that's not seeming likely, so I'll settle for the less interesting combat, for a more interesting environment... When the perfect game/combo comes out, I'll jump on that : )

So if I have 16 GB RAM, and I use my on board video card... Can I give it 6GB, and use the high res textures?

Might be the best looking stop motion film ever : )

this one always looked good to me.. but also im a sucker for over-the-top gore

what i wanna know more about is the part where they say you can "build an army" and take on sauron.. like is there going to be some large scale battles with RTS elemnts or something? or is it just some backgroud thing

In short, you can take over (the minds of) various orc leaders, and it looks like you can get a good (half?) percentage of them on your side, you've got your 'army'... I don't think there's any large scale battle stuff with them. I mean, there's clips of some events with dozens of orcs, but I assume you mean hundreds.

That's a great vid... Lots of information. And shows that the Nemesis system portion is not the entire game heh... That was what had sold me last week (or two), but I'm happy to see the stuff mentioned now.

Sadly, now I'm really looking forward to it, and it'll be a long ~week.

Shame they didn't cancel WOW instead, then maybe we wouldn't be left the mediocre, carebear, grindfest crap we are stuck with today.

Long live UO and AC1 Darktide.

In some way they only have themselves to blame. I used to play MMO's for the thing they did best... open world dynamic PVP in a massive world. Then they dumbed it down so much it became PVP in tiny arena's. Now why would anyone play an MMO for arena PVP, when you can pickup a MOBA and get right into it... without a mindless PVE and PVP point/gear grinds and complete with decent combat.

Now they are off to dumb down the MOBA genre instead. Yay!

WTB Warcraft 4.

Really? You're comparing WoW PvP with MOBA's and you think MOBA's aren't already dumbed down?

Same... But it's been so long, I'd likely have to start over (I like continuity, and my memory has issues)... And then I'd get to around the same point and likely get bored...
