We restrict things to minors all the time, it has nothing to do with free speech, it is strictly to limit kids from stuff they don't have the cognitive ability to understand at their age. but.... it is the industries responsibility to restrict things to minors. That's how it works for movies and music, and video games are not significantly different from either of those. The supreme court strikes down censorship laws like this all the time. However idiotic the times can be, they are absolutely right that laws like this cannot stand. |

This is not because the law requires it, it is because public opinion demands it.
Enacting laws relegating mature video games to an "indecent" status is not about protecting children, it is about stigmatizing those that enjoy mature video games. They want you to have to ask at the desk for a mature video game. They want to ban public advertisements of mature video games. It may seem odd to foreigners, but not allowing laws restricting the availability of media, whether it would restrict books, movies, or video games, is a very important bulwark against the censorship of "offensive" media and ideas. |

The article seems to be saying that if you don't catch colds and have cold symptoms, you have a crappy immune system. I'm not sure I buy it. She's not a doctor, and she's trying to sell her book. |

It does have a bunch of settings to make it more gamey or more simulationy, I haven't had the chance to try it yet though. No multiplayer as of right now, but the previous DCS game did, so A-10 might have it by the time it's released. |

Creston wrote on Aug 15, 2010, 00:26: I'd imagine the Steam version saves in the same spot as the normal version, so if you just disconnect/terminate that GfWL shit, save your game, then switch to the Steam version, you should be just fine. FYI, the game puts its saves in a different location depending on whether or not you're logged into GFWL. Of course you can still log into GFWL with the steam version if you want to...

If this game blows I will shrug it off. Civ 4 is a perfect game and has aged just fine. If this game outdoes it, which will be hard, I'll be the happiest kid in the world. If not I'll just keep on keeping on. ++
Only thing more I would ask for would be more reliable LAN play, especially with mods. If only I could play the latest version of FfH2 with a friend without problems. |

well, none of the previous revisions of the game were dumbed down, and they are switching to hexagonal tiles, which are what is usually used in hardcore strategy games. The exclusive civ does worry me though. |

Actually they *removed* the 64-bit Linux version. The only one available now is 32-bit, so as of right now there is no 64-bit version of Flash 10.1 at all! This fucking sucks. |

FYI, non-EU people can update the game via the in game updater. Here's a quick copy/paste from the subsim.com forum:
You should just start your game to update it. If that doesn't work, run gu.exe from C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Support\GameUpdater
If you're using the Steam version, I think you'll just have to wait. Lots of people saying it won't update yet... |

Thanks for that link, I never knew about the "Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam Air and Ground Expansion Pack," I have to try it out! Now I just need to figure out where to download the damn thing. Combatace.com is so confusingly organized. |
