I have compared the DX10 vs DX9 perf and found that with my system and game settings, the DX10 mode is MUCH slower, 6 times slower actually.
Running at a res of 1680x1050 I get 5 FPS in DX10 and 30 in DX9.
My specs are: Core 2 Duo E6600 2GB DDR2 Vista Home Premium GeForce 8600 GTS OC
I'd try it with an 8800 GTX but it's at work and I won't be there tomorrow to pick it up. Maybe on Monday.
EDIT: BTW, I am running the new beta video drivers that's supposed to help perf in this game. I hate to see what it was like before this driver!

He then said, "That was one HOT DOG!"
He should have rammed a stick in it, dip in corn batter then deep fry. That's what I call a REAL corn dog.
Hmm, why are they called hot dogs anyway? Why dog?
Yeah I'm bored. :/

I'll be sure to try out the DX10 version tomorrow at work on my Vista/G80 box.
I just ordered this game for the 360 for $30 on amazon. I played it at Target and thought it was pretty cool. Sure beats the $60 retail price they wanted for it.
I hope to see a Call of Juarez DX10 demo soon. That game looks awesome in DX10.

Did HDR and AA work at the same time? Or did you have to disable one or the other? What about lag and bunny hopping?

It kind of reminds me of the CoD series a little from watching the video.
The graphics are ok for maybe the Wii...but that's about it.
This, unfortuantly, will probably end up being another failed vietnam game attempt.
What I'd like to see is a decent developer take CryEngine2 and make a Vietnam game with that. CryEngine2 is obviously good at jungle scenes judging by Crysis.

Supposedly there's a mod group remaking the original Flashpoint campaign for ArmA. That should be cool. I hope to see the campaigns for Flashpoint's two expansions packs converted over too.
ArmA was not intended to have the best missions out of the box anyway. BIS relies on the modders to create the good stuff, they just provide the engine and some art basically.

From Wikipedia:
In July 2004, the Redneck Rampage license was purchased by Vivendi Universal for $300,000 dollars. However VU Games representative said that at the moment there are no intentions of making a new game in the Redneck Rampage series. If they ever did make a redneck rampage 2, I'd really hope they'd use Larry the Cable Guy for voices (and even game ideas).

I think the person who said people with problems are the ones upgrading, ie not doing a format/full install, is right.
I've been using Vista for a long time now and I have not seen most of the problems people report with the latest build. I always did a format/full install. Upgrades almost always bite you in the ass unless the OS you're upgrading was JUST re/installed from scratch. I also have an 8800 GTX.
Also, If you want more DX10 demos other than cascade, install the DirectX SDK and open the example browser. I'm not sure when the other NV demos are going to be released; they're pretty cool though.

>> If you already have Vista and a DX10 graphics card, what purpose does the demo serve?
I don't understand your question. NVIDIA and even ATI always release demos to show off what you can do with a new card/api. There's nothing out of the ordinary here. This is obviously aimed at graphics developers looking to see what cool things you can do with DX10.
I played around with the demo earlier. It's pretty nice.
