Blue, you need that portal turret replica armed with a BB gun and programmed for squirrel targets.

Are you still there?.....There you are..... POW POW POW.

I'm still unsure about Brink. I've seen videos and pics but....I dunno.

Of course, I don't need any more games right now any way. I've bought way too many in the past few months. I even have a few from Christmas and shortly before that have never been played yet.

Id tech and bethesda's knowledge of game mechanics.

No this is all id. Beth is only the publisher/owner-of-id, they are not active in development. Plus, most of this game was already made by the time id was bought out.

As long as the console (the drop down in game one) is accessible then there will be no problem binding actions/weapons/etc to any key. I'm quite sure the console will be accessible since that's how you load up idStudio (which will be included) and Carmack likes it still for hacking/testing things.

I think it sucks there's no DM. I like DM how it's just free for all and simple. Pure carnage old school style.

Hopefully there will be a DM mod. The only thing is if they don't have dedicated servers then that might kind of blow too.

Bah, I really don't like the direction games have gone and where they're going.

Carmack has already said no mod tools for RAGE.

No he never said that. He mentioned years ago that it was uncertain due to the complexity, but it turns out the tools will be there.

Yep that site is obviously satire. Just look at the other articles on there. Every one of them is so insanely ridiculous. Plus the author's name seems quite odd. Too odd actually and when clicking on it you go to something called "White Settlement." hah. Plus, a "real" christian based article would not have shown that gay pic.

Then again, radical right christians are pretty f'ed up so you never know with some of them. lol! I just wonder how many of them actually go along with the article and take it seriously.

I'm surprised the article didn't have any shots of the white goo flowing out of something.

Welp, I'm off to go play some GloryHole 2.

7. Re: On Portal 2's Axed Puke Gel Apr 25, 2011, 20:46 SirKnight

This sticky gel was in the digipen game (Tag) who's devs were pulled into Valve and where this gel idea came from. At first I thought the white gel was going to allow walking on walls and such. I found it quite surprising that it was for adding portals to surfaces you could not otherwise. Of course I also did not pay much attention to the Portal 2 videos as I wanted it to be more of a surprise.

Here's Tag, what inspired the gel feature in Portal 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZisF038lhZQ

I wish this would have been new content (not middle eastern themed this time either).

Hopefully they're working on new stuff for Arma 2.

Meh, After the BF3 trailer yesterday, I think I will pass on this. Or bargain bin at most.

Are you limited to one game per year or something?

For me, I find Rage to be much more appealing than BF3, which looks too CoD like.

Worked on a game; we put in several subtly broken feature that we knew pirates would miss when they generated cracked copies of the game. The game still ran, but you'd hit a non-progression bug after some regular gameplay.

On release day, ~20-30% of our tech forum issues were about the broken features that would only show up in cracked versions. Not only did these people not buy our game, they felt justified in asking the developers, directly, to spend time helping them fix their pirated software.

This reminds me of the FADE system Bohemia Interactive uses in their games (Operation Flashpoint, Arma, ...) where if they detect a pirated copy then the game over time will start to run really slow and wash out becoming unplayable.

I think the algorithm for detecting a pirated version activated a few times with legit copies, which is to be expected I guess. But, the few times this happens is pretty much negligible I'd think.

It would be nice if it were possible to construct a perfect algorithm for detecting pirates and when you do, format their drives. Muahaha! But that's not really possible and so non-pirates would be getting wiped out which would bring all kinds of hellfire on the devs then. Too bad b/c I'd love nothing more than to format an actual pirate's computer. Over and over again.

11. Re: PS3 Steam Details Apr 13, 2011, 15:13 SirKnight

If Valve wants to give away their games for free that they have completely self funded then that's their choice. EA doesn't have jack to say about it. The only time EA would is if THEY funded the development of Portal 2.

For the most part I don't care about playing Portal 2 on the PS3, but since I get the PC version for free and I have Playstation Move which this game is compatible with I was curious to see how that works out so I thought what the hell and pre-ordered the PS3 version.

Well I pre-ordered the PS3 version so hopefully that'll come early too so I can play my free PC version sooner. The bad thing is I can't pre-load right now.
