"The people familiar with this device said it would run the Windows 7 operating system"
DOA.
MS has been trying with tablets for at least a decade and they always fail. Amazing how they are so thick headed that they can't see their crappy OS is the main reason. If a KB/mouse OS was the right thing for a tablet, then Apple would have put OSX on the iPad. But they did not for some very good and smart reasons. While I hate Apple's strong control over everything, at least they have smart people there unlike MS that's run by freaking monkeys it seems. And dumb ones at that!
I'd love it more than anything to dump Windows on my PCs for good. I've always hated it. Long live the penguin! |

I 100% agree with House. With no controllers like Kinect, games have to be extremely dumbed down and simplistic. But with Move you have the motion and camera detection PLUS controllers with buttons/knobs/sticks/etc which allows for much more complexity and interactivity.
Because of this, I see Move having a nice future but Kinect to me is going to be a failure and is DOA. Especially with what I've seen of it so far. While it has sold a decent amount so far, it's all because of hype and its "newness."
The only cool thing Kinect does is when it's hooked up to a PC and is used for non gaming stuff like we've seen recently.
(BTW, I'm not a PS3 fanboy even if it may sound like that. I have all consoles and primarily play PC games and prefer that) |

A tablet with an OS made for a KB and mouse doesn't make a bit of sense anyway.
What MS needs to do is make a tablet version of Windows Phone 7. Perhaps call it Windows Tablet 7 or whatever. That's the only way I see them standing a chance in this market. I've used Win7 on a touch based PC a few times and the experience was complete crap. |

I never realized how long it's been since I last dealt with IRQ conflicts, manually setting up sound cards, etc. Ah the DOS/Win95/98/NT days. I liked those days actually. It was more frustrating b/c you had to deal with low level crap constantly, but that's what made it fun! Now things just work. Where's the fun in that!? lol
Oh and manually setting dip switches and jumpers!
And I too will play some Doom today. I'll likely use the ZDoom port. It seems to be my fav for whatever reason. Perhaps I'll play Doom on my iPod touch too. I actually still play Doom regularly anyway and I've been considering getting back into map making. There's still a lot of people that continue to do it and there's some pretty amazing maps still coming out. |

I would feel better about the iPhone going to Verizon if Verizon didn't have the same crappy data plans ATT has. Ohhh 2GB/mo. Yeah like I won't go over that in a few hours or less. lol! What's the point of having a phone capable of all kinds of rich multimedia and apps if you're very tightly limited? Suddenly these things become about as multimedia capable as a feature-phone. Big deal.
Verizon's LTE is a HUGE disappointment to me. I'll stick with my Sprint/Clear 4G that's unlimited. It may be slower than LTE ATM, but Clear is working on that. But who cares how fast it is if the limits are so small. Verizon talks about streaming HD videos on LTE. Yeah, you'll get maybe one movie if you're lucky and then you're SOL for the month, unless you like paying out the ass for additional gigs. Good one Verizon! Greedy fuktards.
All these tight limits are doing is greatly slowing the advancement of what could be great tech. |

With ridiculously low data caps like this, who cares how fast it is? All it's going to do is get you to your limit and over that much quicker. Yay. :/
And I don't believe these companies at all when they say 98% of smart-phone users use less than 250MB, yes mega bytes, per month. BS. If that were true they would not be going with all of these capped plans all of a sudden. Smart-phones are made for multimedia and apps which eats bandwidth. All they're doing with these caps is hurting the growth and potential of the Internet and new devices. I don't use my android phone constantly every day, only a few days a week for a small amount of time really, and even then I use many many gigs. |

| I'm so glad Xmarks is back. Sooo much better than Firefox Sync which would freeze the browser when syncing. Plus Xmarks works with many browsers which is nice having all of my bookmarks no matter what browser I'm using. |

I've been wanting to get this on steam. It's really cool how they have terrain deformation from the tires so you can actually make ruts like in real life. I also like how they actually render tire tread instead of the tires being flat with a tread texture projected on it like most games.

I have an older MX vs ATV for the PC that I need to reinstall. I also now feel like reinstalling Motocross Madness 2. That game kicked so much ass, especially on my MS sidewinder gamepad. |

| They were lucky the first time to get the sales they did due to the name. Now that we have seen the cluster f**k that was Dragon Rising I doubt they'll have much luck this time. Codemasters totally ruined the OFP brand which should be given back to Bohemia. |

I still find it hard to believe "analyst" is a real job. How is it that someone can get paid for sitting around spouting opinions and speculation (which usually ends up being wrong mostly anyway)? What a great contribution to society.
"because I'm really good" Yeah...we all think we're Casanova. |

"FPS map design: Then and now."
LOL! Yeah that's about right.
I still have WAY more fun with Doom and Quake today than I do with 99% of modern FPSes, which are for braindead morons with ADD it seems. Playing "find the key" is a lot better than the BS modern games do. Don't even get me started on health regen.
It's a shame because the FPS genre used to be my fav. |
