Ordered a PS Vita. Was planning on getting this game for the Vita, but I may have to consider it on Steam instead.

Looks like they now have a demo of this on the Vita. Downloading now.

I <3 my Vita.

I seem to be having the opposite problem in that clicking on the "download demo" button does absolutely nothing. Restarting Steam doesn't help. Shame, want to try this.

Same here. I was able to download a different demo, just not this.

Those screenshots look really dire; certainly much worse than RAGE. And they seem to bare absolutely no relation to the Doom universe. Wrecked cars? Cranes? Large outdoor areas? It doesn't look like it's set on Mars, that's for sure.

I don't think they're genuine, as they look really, really bad... it looks more like a mod for Doom 3. For starters, why would any major gaming company release images as such a low resolution and without more hype behind the reveal?

lol...oh man where do I begin?

Remember Doom 2? Guess what? NOT set on Mars. The full title was Doom 2: Hell on EARTH. So, doom can be set on other places you know. id created doom, not you, so they can have it take place in any damn location they want.

These shots very much look like idTech 5. Just level shots with no "things." If you think this looks like a mod for Doom 3 then you need glasses, or stronger ones. The only way idTech 4 would look like this is if the renderer was completely re-written, since the code is open source now.

Finally, do you not know what LEAKED means? Of course id would not officialy release shots like this.

Ah yes, the Blues comment sections. Where the Haterade is given away free and all you can drink...since always.

I like GNONE, but I have always greatly preferred KDE. I guess because it's more familiar to me since it has a lot of similarities to the way windows looks.

Yay Kubuntu!

There is no way him or any other exec deserves this kind of money. Very few people anywhere, if any at all, do not deserve to be paid like that. This is just absurd. Tax rates for someone pulling in this kind of money in one year need to be extremely high. Then there's tons of people that do real valuable work and get jack. They get fired and lose their house and every thing all so some jack asses can continue to be over paid.

This is not a good system we are in.

This is all good and everything, but it should go further. Like, eliminating telemarketing completely. Make it completely illegal. I'm so sick of this crap. Do not call lists are a complete joke.

lol, yeah I know but I'm just so used to using the task manager that it's just automatic to hit C+A+D.

It's just beyond asinine that a game would require network access to do things like access the menus (like quit), talk to AI, etc. I mean WTF!? It's just fucking dumb as hell to require Internet for an offline SP mode.

Damn you Blizzard!

Odd...I was just playing and suddenly the game would not let me talk to people any more. I had just saved Cain and I am now back in town. I then try to exit the game but clicking on "Exit Diablo III" did nothing. I had to control+alt+del to access the task manager to kill it.

I also noticed some type of bar near the bottom right that said "latency 900ms." WTF! Reminds me of my satellite internet days. lol

Yeah I got mine last night too. I didn't have time to download it all (Blizzard's download solution is SLLOOOOOW) last night so I finished it this morning and played for a short while.

So far it's not that bad, but I hate not being able to update my char's stats myself like you could in previous games. The world also seems very linear, unlike the previous games. Hopefully the full game is less linear and more diablo 2 like.

I'm playing as a barb. He's pretty cool so far. I really miss a Paladin character. That was my fav in diablo 2. I like having a knight type of character.

I actually prefer the sprites of Diablo 2. The 3d models and textures in 3 are low res/blurry. The sprites were clear and detailed. I miss games using 2D sprites.

I'm very interested in Far Cry 3 but I'm afraid they'll put in this BS DRM mess. I'm probably in the minority that actually liked Far Cry 2 so 3 makes me kinda excited. I am disappointed they didn't continue with the Africa theme, which they originally said they would do, but oh well.

But, if they do put this unacceptable DRM in the PC version, I guess I'll have to put up with the 360 version (on sale though!) even though I hate the controller. Now if I could get the PC version for free from buying a new GPU or something like that then that would be fine. But I'm not paying money, not one cent, for Ubi's DRM solution.

I haven't noticed better memory usage with FF at all. It's still a pig.

I did a test a while back between FF and IE and IE used so much less memory it wasn't even funny. I miss the old days of FF when it really was fast and light. That was probably, version 1.0 and earlier.

1. Re: Saturday Mobilization Jan 28, 2012, 19:30 SirKnight

I was going to get the 3G version of the Vita, but found out that it's pretty much worthless. You can't download games off it (of course you probably would not want to anyway since ATT's monthly limits SUCK) but more importantly you can not play multiplayer games over it unless it's a turn based thing like chess. Lame. So it's basically only good for web browsing and other minor crap no one cares about.

So I cancelled my 3G preorder and preordered the wifi one. I'll play MP games on my own wifi with my home cable or tethered to my phone or tablet through AndroidTether/MyWi.

I am very much looking forward to the Vita. I just hope there will be other companies make memory cards for it, or at least adapters because Sony's is way over priced. I also preordered a 32GB one but I'm kind of wondering if I should cancel that. $100 is kind of insane for that, yet $/GB it is the best deal and I plan on downloading most of the games so I'll need a lot of space. :/ Bah.

2. Re: Morning Consolidation Jan 27, 2012, 10:45 SirKnight

Most people I know can not afford a new game price except every once and a while. I know there are a lot of people like that, especially these days so not being able to play used games will not go over at all.

Even though I can pay full price, most of the time I do not for the fact that I find 90%+ games these days are not worth the asking price. So if they do this, I will not buy the new system, ever. The Alienware X51 looks way more interesting than any new console anyway.

Reading comprehension fail. You CAN buy games from this app when you're away from the PC. Look at the quote from Gabe.

How would you click on a link on a website on your browser when you have to.. install the APP on your phone to be eligible for the beta at some point?
You click install on the Android marketplace page and it installs to your selected device...does Apple not have this functionality or something?

They do, but it's something in iOS 5 only and has to be enabled. Also the purchase has to be done in iTunes instead of a browser. But iOS 5 does have this feature where if you buy something on one device (PC/Mac/iPhone/iPad/etc) it will automatically download to all your other devices.

This steam app will be perfect for if I'm away for a few days and don't want to miss on a good sale.
