If only the dev wasn't so against the Oculus Rift.

What difference would that make? Is the OR coming out in the next 2 weeks or something?

Anyway, dunno why they didn't target this for closer to Halloween as it would be much more conducive to this genre. Still, hope it's good too. Simply love the title.

For those of us who have the dev kit and will eventually get the final version, also to help advance/research VR gaming...duh! This isn't that hard to figure out and it would not hurt any non-rift users at all. Of course, what else could I expect from the Internet's Mr. Negative. Dude, you really have issues. Fuck.

The PC version is real and is coming this year (unless something changes, but that's the current plan). This is no slip up.

I like the ports of these new versions of Duke3D and Shadow Warrior. The other ports out there are good, but don't feel as polished to me as these. I'll be glad when they finally add multiplayer and linux versions.
Note that while there's a promise to add multiplayer to duke 3d on the store page, there's no such promise for shadow warrior.

That would be a shame.

I would love to see them use this port with NAM. I loved that game. Hard as nails but awesome. The port I use has really crappy feeling controls.

Loading porn into vrCinema3D is not bad at all. hehe!

I can just image a high res rift and 3D porn using rendering tech from NVIDIA's Ira demo. Then perhaps if some cameras could turn your body into 3D and put you IN the porn....yeah.

Waiting for Oculus VR Doom with monster closets and a single, unarmed, flashlight.

Actually Doom 3 BFG with the Oculus Rift is pretty damn cool. It'll be really great once a higher res Rift comes out.

Still, one of my favorite applications so far for the Rift is vrCinema3D, where you load it any video you want and it looks and feels like you're in a movie theater with a HUGE screen. It may not sound like much but it sure impressed me more than almost anything else. There's just something about the feeling it gives.

Ah, so it does have an on/off switch.

Is it just me, or is that controller hideous?

I agree, it does have a kind of weird look about it.

Obviously Carmack hasn't really given a shit about games for a long time now. If this makes him happy he should go do it.

No that's not true at all. How in the hell did you come up with that!? Watch his Quakecon keynote and it should be obvious he DEEPLY cares about games. The rift is all about games and if he didn't care about them he would not be on board with this thing.

I'm surprised he is still at id. Maybe it's a contract thing? Or he wants to finish Doom, or both? It would not surprise me at all if Carmack leaves id after Doom.

It would be awesome to work at the Oculus Dallas office with Carmack. Speaking of that, I need to get back working on my own Rift stuff, and my own VR headset plans.

Sailing around not doing anything after a while will get very old and very boring. Being bored is not the point of a game and has nothing to do with any so called "ADD generation."

There's always Ship Simulator for anyone that likes to be bored to tears doing nothing for 30+ minutes, if not hours.

I like simulators a lot, but after a while they do get old and bland.

The modern aspects are what always turned me off of the series.

I am quite interested in AC4 though.

I loved C&C series for their singleplayer campaigns, so imbalance of factions/units didn't bother me much, but I can understand the frustration of competitive players in last few installments.
That is why the announcements of this new C&C being multiplayer-only concerns me greatly... These guys at EALA (now Bioware) cannot make a balanced game, nor even stable multiplayer experience for that matter.

Actually this game is going to have a SP campaign after all. Which is good because I could care less about multiplayer C&C. This is one of those games that's just best left to SP. But of course, it's harder for them to nickle-and-dime people that way.
