As long as you can provide the original email address and name that you made the account with, tech support should be able to move the account to your current email address. I'm assuming that you have long since lost access to the original email account used to create your account which is why you can't just reset the password yourself. I had the exact same problem with a few of my wow accounts and I called the tech support number and the lady merged all my old accounts into a new one. I would call rather than trying to do it by email because it will take some back and forth communication to get the job done.
I usually use one of several throwaway accounts for things like this. And who knows what name I used back in 2010? Certainly not my real name. OK, I'll try to figure out what accounts I may have used. It's good to know Blizzard has tech support that is actually useful. I guess it's not completely fair to blame Blizzard. I could find myself in the same situation if I lost the registration code for an old piece of software, even though I had the install media.

Hey, I have a question and thought I'd ask here first. I found my StarCraft II WOL DVD and since I never finished it I thought I'd give it another go. Problem is I have since upgraded to a new computer and haven't a clue what my old BattleNet login/email or password is. I seriously have no reason to ever use Battlenet for anything so just didn't pay attention the first time - I just wanted to play a fucking single-player game - and didn't want to have to keep track of yet another website login password for years to come.

So I create a new Battlenet account and install from DVD, everything seems fine. I play a couple of levels but it turns out I'm just playing the starter edition and it won't play anymore until I upgrade to the full game! WTF? I'm guessing I've just been screwed by Blizzard and I'm SOL unless I want to pay again for the same game.

Or am I just being overly cynical? Since I have the actual physical DVD is there a way to get the full game again? Does Blizzard have a support email or a phone number that they actually respond to?

I got a very nice scanner at a thrift store for 10 bucks. Took it home, couldn't find drivers then looked it up and found out about their scam. New OS? Ha ha ha sucker. You have to buy a whole new scanner cause we ain't makin you any stinkin drivers. That 10 bucks I wasted made me mad way out of proportion to the money I spent. Didn't know about VueScan though. Hope it works.

Can you fast forward through the commercials? Comcast disabled that about a year ago for most of its on-demand TV offerings. So if I miss DVRing something I'll have to wait for a rerun or get it from Netflix when it comes to DVD. I wish there were an alternative to Comcast.

Anytime I see a headline for this game I keep getting hyped thinking it's a reboot of that old FPS/RPG from the mid-90s. Considering everything else from the era seems to be getting being rebooted...

But no, it's just another MOBA
Yeah, I got a little excited for a moment too. Strife was an awesome game. The only non-Raven game I can think of that used the Doom engine. Build sure got a lot of love from many many companies but you never saw much done with Doom outside Raven.

As much as I loved Strife back in the day I just don't see much there that would merit a reboot or remake. It was kind of generic really.

Ah yes, Natural News. My very favorite site for PROVEN SCIENCE and all things SCIENCY. Here's some other articles BluesNews readers may enjoy:

  • 10 outrageous (but true) facts about vaccines the CDC and the vaccine industry don't want you to know.

  • Oregon parents who choose to protect their children from the horrors of vaccines will now have to jump through a slew of unconstitutional government hoops

  • Improving health and well-being with crystals

  • Why Himalayan Salt is the perfect storable barter item for preparedness and survival (In the event of a ZOMBIE apocalypse one presumes)

  • Why Himalayan Pink Crystal Salt is so much better for your health (Oh, look. They have a handy link so you can buy some from them!)

I admit it left me queezy for some time after using it too but its almost worth it its so cool..
Don't care if I have to wear it for ten minutes, barf my guts out, then come back for ten more minutes until barf time again everyday for a month until I get used to it. I'm getting one. Sure I'll be weak and sickly from fluid loss but I'm still getting one.

I've never played a multiplayer game before. I've always been curious and wanted to try one out. I might give this a go except I would be so bad I'd be laughed off the servers.

News Comments > NSA's Game Spying
    166. Re: NSA's Game Spying Dec 9, 2013, 18:51 Ratty

What is the NSA's end game with all this? To steal my credit card number? To steal my identity? No - it's to protect America. So why should I care if they track my gaming patterns, read my emails, monitor my cell phone activity?
The problem is they keep this information forever and there exists no effective safeguard against its being used. Say you decide to run for president someday against an incumbent. Do you really believe that incumbent, as president of the United States, can't get their hands on your records to use against you in a campaign? You think legal safeguards and requirements for judicial approval can stop a US president? The NSA is vacuuming up everything - US citizen phone records and patterns as well as foreign. They *say* safeguards are in place to prevent them looking at record for individual citizens. What are those safeguards? How can they be 100% effective? We've already seen them use records like these against US journalists.

As the internet and cellphone generation ages the amount of data will grow exponentially. And it *will* be used. Do you really, seriously doubt that? Think of all the future presidents, legislators, journalists, activists whose careers will be nipped in the bud because of some youthful indiscretions for anyone in a position of power to dig up. Ask yourself if *that* is worth the price of a sense of security.

I don't know I've found Firefox to get better with each update.
It's not the stability I have issues with, it's the changes they're making - to bring it in line with peoples' ideas of what a modern UI is supposed to be I suppose. Expecting them to change the menu to a ribbon or adding charms and tiles or whatever sometime soon. There is an issue they've been having for nearly a year now where if you open a page in a new window it puts that window in the background about half the time (not all the time, mind you). I've heard it's related to Flash but have never been able to solve the issue. Then they got rid of the ability to turn off javascript. You now have to install an add-on, but the add-on sucks. There's a whole list of annoyances I have, not world shattering but they've added up to just a big pain in the ass and I'm tired of it.

So why keyboard macros instead of AutoHotkey? I got a fancy keyboard just for the macros but could never get it to work. Then I got AutoHotkey and that program is simply amazing and very easy to use. I use it a lot for games that don't let you bind more than one key to a function, like all Bethesda games. And you can make different macro files for different purposes and switch between them with a double-click.

Firefox has become more annoying with each update. I stopped updating it a while ago but I know that's not safe in the long term. Don't like Chrome, won't touch IE. I don't know what I'm going to do but as soon as I figure it out I'm going to ditch it.

Wow that "Seattle man's frugal life" story is depressing as hell. He had 187 million dollars, and cut coupons and drank frozen orange juice? Live it up a little, snort some coke off a Brazilian model's ass, or something.
Kinda reminds me of Schindler's list. Remember the scene at the end where he broke down crying, thinking of all the people he could have saved if he hadn't bought that ring, that car ... ? His goal, according to the article, was to leave as much money to charity as he could when he croaked. So maybe he was an obsessed miser or just an obsessed philanthropist.

I'm about equal with you with number of hours played and still haven't finished the main story. I spend most of my time tinkering with different character builds. For example, how about an archer that only uses poisons and a bound bow? How about a wizard who only uses staves to cast? etc.
I've played the Fallouts and Skyrim multiple times (I'm on a Skyrim replay right now). I always finish the main quests the first time through but usually don't finish them on subsequent runs. I actually really enjoy building my character, getting him to be the best I possibly can as soon as possible, then once that's done I lose interest. As much as I love New Vegas the main quest is incredibly boring. Hate the casinos, hate the Mr. House story line, I always stop playing when I get to those points. But building my character, trying different perks and specialties - that never gets old.

Blue's News on average has a much higher comment quality than most gaming sites, but boy, do these threads bring out ugly sides in the personalities of even some seasoned regulars.
They sure do. And race as well. I remember years ago here there was an article about black gamers and boy did they ever come out of the woodwork. The thread had hundreds of mostly rabid posts. Not racist posts for the most part, but people upset that someone even dared raise the issue. What is it about these topics that instill rage in certain people? Indifference I can see - I'm mostly indifferent to these topics - but why the rage? It's like a reverse victim mentality. Whites are so victimized, men are so victimized.
