Tsk. When has the 360's price been cut? Yeah that's right, not once. Personally I feel that's an insult to gamers. MS are even proud of it. Of course it would have been helpful if they didn't have to replace every 1 in 3 360's bought because of the RROD. What happens after the extended 3 year warranty is up I wonder. Unless they start making boxes that are not defective from the outset, I imagine there will be a lot of duped customers starting in about two years or so.

I watched the Indievelopment series on GameSpot about this game. It's funny to hear from them at this time really.

I still can't get over the fact that it takes place on Mars, in the future with the mercenaries walking around without oxygen supplies using current day body armor/equipment.

When they pitched this idea to Epic... lol the look on their faces when they heard this, haha. It's like everyone on the team had their idea of what a game should have (one part counter-strike, one part doom, one part tom clancy) and instead of making consistent choices they all got their wish (and ended up with modern day mercenaries walking around on MARS buying weapons like in CS - lol).

Dunno what to make of the game. I think it'll be... uneven. Seems like they got to hold on to the Unreal Engine 3 though.

If it ran like ass on your PC, I'd expect the control to be lousy no matter how well it might be implemented, but seriously -- WTF are you playing a driving game with a keyboard for in the first place?

You really can't fault a driving game like this for having poor keyboard control in this day and age.

You my friend, have just stepped so far out of the box that a hobo moved into it!

There's plenty of games that run like ass but still have responsive input. Besides, it doesn't seem to be related to the performance of the game, it's a general problem and people seem to be fixing it themselves by modifying files.

And what the FUCK is wrong with playing a racing game with a keyboard? It's just like a d-pad and plenty of people play it that way. Also what the hell is "this day and age" supposed to mean?

You're an idiot, that's what.

This demo ran like ass on my PC.

Just watched the GameSpot video review and they had the same problems with the release version (on both consoles and PC I believe!). And what is worse, the game totally unplayable with a keyboard. There was a one-second lag on every keypress, WTF!!

bad performance
+ bad controls
+ bad menu (all flash and no consideration for usability)
+ bad physics apparantly
+ no multiplayer

= No sale.

The thing about Ender's Game is that it originally was a short story. To make a book out of it is hard as it is, much less multiple books. I didn't read the shadow series or whatever they are called, but I read the first three of Ender. The first was definitely the best, but it still felt "padded" at times (b/c of the short story roots I guess). The other two were ok, but didn't "wow" me like the original. The third book is also very "out there" with all the metaphysical musings.

You know tumbler, you should really do some research before talking out of your ass. I'm not saying nothing is wrong up in Iceland, but don't make a fool out of yourself.

Blame them? I would have been "blaming" them if the HAD wasted time and resources trying to make a DX10 patch. I mean, even despite not doing it, they still managed to make the release into a Vista marketing tool.

You misspelled 'no'.

Can anyone really blame them?

I don't understand why people would even expect them to be doing this. As with all flashy new tech, implementing it through a patch is just not the way. Such a thing needs to be done from the ground up or the gains most likely just won't be worth it. You can see this everywhere, take a look at Far Cry 64 bit or Lost Planet for example.

I've actually started to play again recently.

I like the game, but I liked R:TW better. There are a few things about M2:TW that bug me. Such as cavalary not being any good (though it would be patched I believe). Ranged units also seem toned down since R:TW (at least pre-gunpowder). Both these fact makes combat more of a "get as many men in there and you'll win", because every unit feels more or less the same. The other issue is micromanagement. At the end of the game there's so many provinces to manage it becomes real slow.
