Great clip.. the music they used is a bit weak though. Doesn't seem to fit the message or the "universe" IMHO.

For your consideration I recommend "Seduction Of Canned Laughter" by Teargas & Plateglass or "Light #1" by Nosaj Thing. In your mind overlap the music with the video. I'm too lazy to do it with Vegas. Besides I don't want those augmented Eidos lawyers to rip me a new hole... cause you know they will. o_o

Thx, just checked them out... electro is a much better fit really. My mind envisions simple, harsh music with electronic and occasional organic elements, competing in tension like augmentations vs. "purity" in the human body.

Enjoying this game immensely since the last patch, which I had been waiting for. Lots more to look forward to too since I bought all the previous DLC on the cheap during the Steam Camp sale and haven't even started playing them yet.

Maybe they're taking this extra time to add additional polish to the PC version and buff out some consolitis. Or not...

10. Key bindings have been corrected to enable configuration of mouse buttons for use by left-handed players.

Thanks for this! The game might actually be playable for me now.

Gorgeous game. Kandinsky and Moholy-Nagy are probably smiling somewhere.

Torrent distro too, with the full game avail for free to try, how convenient.

The DX10 renderer works like a godsend on Deus Ex. Can't even imagine playing DX or UT without it.

Have to say that unlike some more recent Epic releases, UT was definitely worth full price, which in 1999 was $40 USD if I remember correctly. Maybe it's surprising to some, but plenty of people still play UT today.

Someday they will all figure out that banning things does nothing except generate controversy and increase exposure and subsequent sales.

Incompetent politicians pining for a PR victory, while it all backfires in their faces.

I think quite simply that they are embarrassed by the situation and their total incompetence, and for political reasons (there are still tons of foreign businesses in Ciudad Juárez) they are taking it out on a videogame. 53 people have died in the last 72 hours there, a truly tragic state of affairs. Someone needs to tell these legislators to do something useful, and that suppressing a videogame, which is obviously a soft target, is not going to hide that ridiculous level of negative PR about your city/state/country.

Greetings from northern Mexico, where I get to regularly supplement my videogame play with the sounds of real assault rifles and grenades.

On a related note, Civ V is on sale this weekend on Steam for 40% off ($30 US), for the 20th anniversary of the Civ franchise. I was waiting for a sale and am happy to see this.

Guess there goes the weekend.

I was tired of waiting for an official Samsung 2.2 update for the US Galaxy S devices, so last night I bit the bullet and installed a custom ROM (Nero V5 w/ Voodoo). My phone has never run faster or better! Very grateful for the Android dev community that make up for the inadequacies of the manufacturers.

Works with Steam fine. That's how I use it myself.

As far as save games, you're probably going to have to start over. And that's a blessing in disguise.

Pick any STALKER game, get the "Complete" mod compilation for it and prepare for open-world FPS bliss!

I have faith that these dudes won't screw this awesome franchise up for consoles.

Seconded, wholeheartedly - STALKER Complete 2009 is a truly amazing mod, and the only one I bother to install anymore. The game looks and plays better than ever.

Check out the official site:
http://artistpavel.blogspot.com/2009/04/stalker-complete-2009.html

If you haven't played STALKER recently, reinstall it and apply this mod and you'll be stunned that it's a game from 2007.

Can't wait for them to release the Complete mod for CoP.

If you didn't already notice, today's Steam sale includes all the Mafia 2 DLC as well. I just picked up all the M2 DLC, including the two mission packs, for less than $8 USD.

I was just saying the same thing about football to my wife while watching the Chicago New England game, no other sport has its athletes tough it out through rain, snow, fog or any other kind of nasty weather.
Where else can you see 22 millionaires all freezing their butts off and trying to beat each others brains out at the same time?!

Hockey. Try the NHL's Winter and Heritage Classics, both outdoor games. This is the same sport where a defenseman will block a shot with his face, lose 12 teeth and simply have the roots trimmed off on the bench and return to the game.

No knock on football, it's tough in its own way.

Just FYI, and I could be wrong about this, but Sega finally released the global 1.1 patch for Alpha Protocol yesterday.

http://help.sega.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=865

Apparently it removes the copy protection amongst other things:

VERSION 1.1
-----------
- To resolve activation issues, PC copy protection has been removed.
- In Moscow during the assault of Brayko's Mansion, the player could get
into a situation where a door would not be openable preventing progression
through the rest of the level. This has been fixed.
- In Taipei, during the Stop the Assassination mission, the user can fall
out of the world if they reload the "Exit Gardens" checkpoint. There was
also a problem where if the player backtracked, part of the level might
not load in properly. This has also been fixed.
- In the same mission, a problem with subtitles was corrected.
- In the museum in Rome, the game could crash when using Focused Aim to
kill the NPC holding Madison in the elevator.
- Bosses could get stuck in an accelerated mode when Fury wears off.
- Chainsot was exploitable to slow time and get critical headshots without
consuming its cooldown.

If anyone hasn't seen the original Tarkovsky classic, the complete Stalker film is available on Google Videos.

There's a demo of it available on Steam too, in case you are being cautious with your $4.50 USD.

Actually there's been a demo for this since January:

Yeah, just meant specifically on Steam.

Just played the demo and it was fun and very scary. This game reminds me a lot of Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi from 2003.
