Happy birthday to Mrs.Blue, and absoutely yes what a stellar gift to receive.

You had a multi-decade clean sheet, Blue, which is a pretty amazing run. Sending positive vibes, and may you and all impacted find well-being soon.

governments to absorb
[Theoretically] paid for by [future] tax paying citizens [while in reality Central Banks expand their balance sheets with endless debt]. Yes, that’s how government spending works.

I am in group 1C for the vaccination. It is likely I will given the Moderna vaccine as it is stable at higher temperatures than the Pfizer vaccine.

Given the mutations coming out of the UK and South Africa, it seems likely to me that in the future the vaccine will become like the flu shot where a package load will be delivered for the strains deemed most likely to circulate. Then we'll all get boosters for that particular year.

A comparative problem is that the seasonal flu vaccine has a 6 month efficacy. This is why it's not advised for people to be vaccinated in August. If you are vaccinated in August, your immunity would fade by February, which is usually a highly infectious month.

The reality is that they have no idea how long immunity from these COVID-19 vaccines actually lasts. If it's 6 months like the seasonal flu vaccine then be prepared to be vaccinated/boosted every 6 months, forever. And for governments to absorb the associated financial costs in perpetuity.

What an uplifting story in a crap contemporary world. Hope people line up to play games with Christine.

Dr. Su is an amazing CEO, who masterminded the complete turnaround of AMD from the edge of bankruptcy and acquisition. Unlike Intel which is run by paper pushers, AMD is run by someone who actually understands and has personally innovated in technology.

She's an accomplished scientist as well as an astute businessperson and it shows.

If anyone's still on the fence: I have nearly 150 hours in AC: Odyssey, and haven't even finished it yet. I just recently started the Legacy of the First Blades expansion, and haven't even begun the Atlantis expansion yet.

The Discovery Tour mode is truly stunning. I've probably spent hours just standing on the Acropolis in Athens watching the city below. The detail on the Parthenon alone demonstrates how much they cared about the setting. To be able to see the ancient Greek world recreated is a joy, and a perfect relaxed escape for Pandemic-era confinement.

Run a malware scan. malwarebytes.com

I have Malwarebytes, ran that and then CCleaner, nothing turned up indicating something malicious. I run Avira as my AV, I'll run a thorough scan tonight probably.

To be specific, I got the Facebook browser link when I clicked on this free game(Obduction) through Gog Galaxy version 1.2.56, at the time, I think that button on their page had at least some Twitter mini tag(and possibly a Facebook tag) embedded in the bottom, that seems to have been removed now that I've reloaded Galaxy a few hours later.

Rage... has subsided.

I had the same thing happen. Quit Galaxy and reloaded it, and it stopped.

Blue, I missed this news, but just wanted to offer my sincerest sympathies to you and Mrs. Blue. I lost my mom this Spring, and your website and your stories about your adventures with your canine family members (Hudson RIP) have done a lot to help through a very difficult time.

Many thanks for all the work you do, and may the Gunnar-man continue to live on with us via bluesnews.com.

Stellar doc, thanks. It's so completely representative of how culture and early PC technology were inseparable and shackled to business. Warhol painting Debbie Harry on an Amiga seems like the ultimate metaphor.

The Amiga was a sort of Holy Grail or Yeti in my area - sightings were rare and awe inspiring. I'll never forget seeing Cinemaware's It Came From the Desert running on an Amiga in a Software ETC store around 1990. It absolutely stunned me that computers were capable of that level of output.

Glad this did not switch to mobiles only yet

Instead they just patched CIV5 to include a near full-screen AD for this game on launch, with a new launcher, that you are now forced to look at EVERY TIME YOU LAUNCH CIV5

Super SUPER scummy behavior by 2K

A new advertisement motivated launcher that no one wanted, directed at the Civ 5 player base. Which is STILL bigger than 6. I wish Civ5 was on GoG.

Hopefully this 2nd DLC for Civ6 is the last, and they finally admit the game was just plain mediocre and move on (wishful thinking).

For those interested it's currently at an all time low according to isthereanydeal at $16.37 USD on GMG due to their summer sale.

The last "free weekend" for SoW was only a limited demo of the 1st chapter tutorial. But I guess any demo in 2018 is pretty rare regardless.

Thanks for the heads up. I was considering buying this but at $80 CDN they're on crack. $20 might just do it. Is it as grindy and repetitious as the first one though? If you I'll wait a while yet. Mebbe grab it in Rocktober.

Yeah, still waiting here too. If there's going to be a "Game of the Year" version with all the DLC, around the 1 year release anniversary in Oct sounds about right for it to come out.

FYI if you're thinking about downloading this:

1. the download is 106GB on Steam
2. apparently it's not a "free weekend" but just a limited demo of the first chapter tutorial.

Hope this saves you the 2 min I just wasted realizing this.

They are specifically addressing illicit uses, not a so-called "no-holds barred attack" in general or an "elimination." Even this FUD Reuters article states that "the choice to invest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be open to end users" in India. You can smell the fear from the traditional financial middlemen that this tech will serve to render redundant.

Increased regulation of this technology may have the opposite effect of destroying it: these statements by governments serve to legitimize the tech and it's power. Regulations on the market and the reduction of volatility will likely draw in more risk-averse investors, raising the market cap and subsequently their demand and value.

Regulations and normalization of this blockchain/token industry are inevitable, but due to its massive potential only the most backward governments will ever consider outright banning it. Welcome to the new future.
