This is let down by the limited terrain present in DCS.

What will the door gunners be able to shoot at? Does DCS feature infantry? (even if it is basic avatar like infantry?)

I didn't mind JA2 after that last big patch that added sector inventory. Before that I found it too tedious.

I know zombies are done to death (har) but I was on a DayZ kick at the time and remember thinking a zombie survival game could be cool with the JA2 engine (inventory, group systems, etc). Too bad it was so un-moddable :/

The best thing about JA was the realised characters. So fun, so full of character. Endearing. A rare quality for a game. Versus most other games which are full of..zombies. Even when the characters aren't intended to be zombies, they are.

Well, the last one was disappointing for me. They really need to work on the AI, from what I was seeing.

Take any JA game and you can say the same thing. I'm kinda amazed this IP keeps getting remade, all the JA titles have been pretty crap.

lol good one you

you fat slob

As a gamer who doesn't care about peripheral subjects that old guys who no longer game yet still think of themselves as gamers whine about - I think this is good news Galciv is a classic.

I can understand the hate coming from people who have poor or unreliable internet connections, I have quite a few friends who moan and bitch rightfully about this. In certain places its really hard to get on a good internet provider and for those people its really a bitch if they want a game that is EXCLUSIVE to Steam.

Offline mode. Issue quite easily resolved. If you mean downloading the game in the first place steam picks up right where it left off if the net goes out so not sure why it's a steam issue.

Offline mode bah. Credentials reset occasionally. Don't go away to a place without internet access.. Don't bother double clicking on the EXEs of the games you own. They won't function without Steam.

Even on PC the vast majority of games can't use more than 2 or so GB anyhow. I imagine anything they add over 4gb would be reserve for the OS. Unless the PS4 is 64bit..

First world problems.

This is only an issue if you live in the US or mainland Europe.

Everywhere else misogyny is alive and well. Not in silly video games. In the real world.

I bought TrackIR, and while I love it..I also don't use it that much. Mostly because I find it sometimes get's in the way of actually playing the game. It's just a bit of metal that sits on my headphones and it works flawlessly with most titles. Oculus Rift is too far down the peripheral road for me. A device I need to wear on my head close to my eyes. I think it will gather dust, but not after giving me a few headaches.

I think it's sort of sad. If you're going to invest time creating content like this why not do it in a CG application or some other dedicated content creation software where you're not limited.

It's amazing what a zombie mod can do for a game.

Arma 3 is Arma 2 in a non-eastern euro setting with swimming and minimal physics additions such as ragdoll and slightly tweaked movement. The animation is essentially unchanged with some tweaks that were already effected by modders for ArmA 2. Suddenly gamers everywhere are onboard with the franchise.

There's enough dislike of the online requirement. Even when the anger settles, the hatred of any unnecessary always-on requirement in any game will keep this going.

I'm still annoyed that Anno 2070 has (had?) an always-on requirement. I passed on an Anno game for the first time. I think I heard they were patching the requirement out but I don't know if they delivered.

I'm currently in a queue to get onto my server. Shame, because SimSeveralSmallTowns is actually a really good game. Fix the traffic, fix the population:workers ratio and give us larger cities. For free.

You passed on Anno 2070 but bought this Simcity?

Gamers are funny.

Yes, it was pretty dumb of me. I preordered before the DRM was made public.

Well one thing I can say for Anno 2070. Even with it's DRM at least the game isn't buggy. In fact it's a damn good game. If this new Simcity was anything as good as the earlier versions I might still consider buying it regardless of the always on requirement. But everything I've read about the actual game does not make me want to purchase it.

We are not as exchangable as the people who work on movie sets like key grips or boom techs.. We have technical/artistic skills that go beyond the average film set worker.

I would suspect they feel the same about your or other industries. Any time you specialize in a field, you know the ins and outs more than someone outside it. No matter what the field, people outside it always tend to think "oh, is that all they do all day?".

In my past, I worked on sets to make sure the footage film crews were shooting was useable in post production. The guys on the film sets worked a couple of set hours doing only very specific things. The post guys (artists, animators) worked 18 hour days in multiple disciplines with that footage under high pressure. From personal experience I know there is a world of difference.

I don't doubt people on film sets work hard. But we are not working in comparable fields.
