Anyone care to hazard a guess as to who DangerDog voted for this past Presidential election?

Micro-transactions are the future of gaming (notably PC), my friends. You're seeing the MMO-fication of the industry. It sort of makes sense if you think about it - why release those crappy "fun packs" through retail when you can let customers pick what they want online hassle-free? It looks like this SimPoints feature will be a core part of the game.
I think publishers are moving away from DRM and are making up the lost sales (from piracy) by milking their loyal customers to the fullest. Can't say that I blame them. Personally, I wouldn't pay fivebux for any of that shit, but it makes good business sense. Pirates, of course, will still get all that crap for free. |

Yeah, I definitely remember the SNES games. I only played Front Mission 3 on the Playstation though. It was a pretty good game with an incomprehensible storyline.
Wanzer is a retarded name though. I think it's supposed to be short for walking panzer. Better than wank, eh? The Japanese, I think, have this crazy fetish for all things German and just make up German sounding words for a lot their games. |

Welp.
MMOG can still mean a game like Shattered Galaxy. Let's all hope for a game like that.
Knowing Blizzavision though... it'll be some shit fantasy MMO in Steampunk that will cater to Eastern markets or something.
A game like Earthbound would be pretty rad though. |

| That's too bad. Rise of Legends just absolutely crashed that company. Despite its fantastical/steampunk theme, the game was vanilla gameplay-wise IMO. I wanted to go back to Rise of Nations. |

It's just my opinion, but I think American culture fetishizes guns waaaay too much. My guess is that most American gun owners place a high priority on individual independence and that guns symbolize that independence. Whatever.
As a result, guns are EVERYWHERE (in stores, games, TV, etc.) in this country. How can such exposure not have an effect? We seriously need to start demystifying gun-ownership and emphasize responsibility over empowerment.
No, but guns are like spoons you see.
Telling everybody, flatly, that the Bill of Rights makes owning guns a FUNDAMENTAL AMERICAN RIGHT (and that's that) doesn't help this much. Easy access to guns is part of the problem. It's not the only problem but it is part of it. We should look into it. |

I've been on a Warcraft 2 binge the past couple of weeks. That game is so much more fun than Warcraft 3 and it boggles my mind. What is even MORE boggling is that Relic pulled the exact same shit with DoW2. WTF.
I don't care for WC3/SC honestly. 12-unit max selection never appealed to me but I still played it just fine. Ugh. Tell me about it. I think that they finally got rid of it for SC2. Right? |

Seriously. Not enough Warcraft fans play WoW. I'm willing to bet half of the player base had never touched a Blizzard game before WoW came along and of that half 99% play on PvE servers. They're all vaginas.
BTW. This was an awesome idea. I kinda wish I still played it.
I've read many forums and listened to plenty of podcasts with avid EVE players basically all spouting the same things. They collectively see WOW as one big massive Carebear games (PVE and PVP). They feel like they can't loot the player's corpse. Or own the factions capitol cities. Or harvest resources on the enemy's lands. Basically they feel like there's no point to PVP because it's not meaningful.
Of course you would know this if you actually did some reading and listening about what other MMO gamers think about WOW. Hear, hear! PvP has been PvE-irized in WoW. So lame.

It's funny that "open-world PVP" is touted at AoR's strongest feature. There was 10x more ganking going on while leveling up in WoW after launch.
You know, I actually sort of like both games (the Warhammer setting is 1,000,000,000x better than WoW's garbage "lore") but you have to admit that WoW has tighter gameplay. Your class's abilities and skills are incredibly intuitive, solid and fun. AoR has that very familiar MMO "floatiness". Classes feel very much the same.
If I sound like I'm shitting on AoR... well it's probably because they shafted the High Elves. I mean WTF? Mark Jacobs must be a Dark Elf fanboy.
All my friends bought AoR but they've all agreed to go back to WoW in November. Ugh. |
