You of course NEED a fully compliant DirectX 8.1 video card for that benchmark to be of any use.

Owning a mask with the intent of keeping your face warm is one thing, owning a mask with the intent of hiding your face in the act of a crime is another. Ditto with the crowbar.

id also hired someone from the mod community to finish the bots for Quake3 since they were having problems doing it. Jan Paul, who wrote the Omicron bot for Quake 1 and the Gladiator bot for Quake 2

In this case I believe he is only referring to the cd-key system as it applies to online play. Since the key on the consumer's end is only used to produce a shadow, there is no simple and fast way to determine if a key is an actual valid key. Only the authentication servers can determine that, and consumers (or rather, potential hackers) don't have access to that code. It therefore becomes an extremely laborious process of cracking the code by brute force.

Well, it is representative of their audience so I guess that would be useful for them. It certainly is not representative of online gamers in general though.

Hardware T&L hasn't really been exploited yet. But it will, very soon. Virtually all of the upcoming FPS will exploit it and more advanced shading algorithms. The developers have to balance the amount of time and effort spent utilizing these new bells and whistles against the number of systems that will even have those bells and whistles. Installed hardware T&L is just now approaching the saturation point that makes developing hardware T&L code all the more favorable.

It should also be pointed out that the new line of GeForce 3's does not have any additional features over the original GeForce 3, even though their marketing department is implying that it does.

I'm looking forward to DNF but give me break. Just shut up and release the game. Then we can judge what game is better Uhhh. You do understand the nature of an interview right? %)Someone asks a question, then the respondant answers it. That's exactly what Mr. Miller did.

FBI is still asleep? |

I haven't been hit by this worm via email yet, but it did try to get me when I went to http://www.fbijobs.com while checking for current FBI positions available. So you might want to avoid going there.
edit: They have since cleaned out the worm. It really freaked me out when my computer just automatically started running it when I went to that website. This comment was edited on Sep 18, 21:48. |
