We're still kinda surprised that you scheduled them both for the same time Well, we didn't really, but as they lost my original appointment (I did all the prep and showed up for nothing) I took the next available Friday which happened to be just a day after the wife's procedure. As it turns out, it's not a problem but you never know so separating them a bit might be a good idea. |

Sterilization follow up |

Since there seemed to be some interest from Heather at least, here's a report on our conditions as of today. Wife, who had her tubal ligation thursday feels ok. Slight nausea and minor aching in the shoulders. This is because of the gas they use to inflate for easier surgery, it moves around (up) the body and eventually leaks out. Some people have it real bad though. She hasn't even had any need for painkillers since Friday. Otherwise she's generally a little sore and swollen in the lower abdomen, as am I. I didn't feel much Friday after the vasectomy, but have been increasingly sore in my lower stomach region since then. Nothing major, but I refrain from bending over and moving my legs in and out of the car was somewhat awkward. I'm nowhere near taking a painkiller though. So, I guess we're both progressing as well as can be expected.

something everyone should do every three months or so Reinstall XP or put on a clean pair of underwear? If you, sir, suggest the former, you've got way to much spare time. |

I can really see how it must be a relief, and maybe difficult to accept at the same time since you're getting a kind of label put on you. Most importantly though, has to be that now you should have a better idea on how to deal with things in the future. Good luck!

| Thanks guys, but I haven't spent much time in front of the computer today. There is slight aching in the groin are, but nothing I'd consider taking Tylonol for. Other than that, I'm really slooow not feeling motivated to do anything. not even hungry for dinner although I ate a good full lunch. |

So, had the vasectomy and are spening my time in front of Star Trek TNG with an ice pack. Everything went fine and all I can complain about is almost falling asleep.
Wife felt fine this morning in spite of not having taken any painkiller. Now in the afternoon she's feeling some pain but still not enough for her to take either Vicodini or Motrin. Instead, she made pillow and poured uncooked rice into it (supposed to be whole wheat). Put it in the micro for a couple of minutes and it's a wonderful thing to place on top of your cramping stomach. Not much visible that she actually had surgery yesterday: no remnants at the navel and just a small scar exactly where the old cesarean-scar is anyway. Seems both our procedures went really smooth so far. |

But I am sure they went over the timeline with you and you will have multiple tests weeks and months after to find out when it is 'safe'. Yeah, actually you can't consider yourself sterile untile a 2nd test around 2-3 months after the procedure. Thing is, that the wife is considered sterile from the go, even if she's not fit for fight right away. |

Was your wife's surgery laproscopic? Yes!
What's the recovery time for that? Dunno at what level you mean but this is what my wife tells me:
45 min recovery (until awake and reasonably clear) 45 min outpatient surgery room for check on how you're recovering All in all she was in for only 4 hours. Recommended to avoid strenuous activitiy for about two days. After six weeks she should be fully recovered.
Oh, and the frozen peas are actually mentioned in the official information I got |

Nah, good luck, man. Yeah, both just fine though first one was 7 and second 4 weeks early.
Thanks, and sorry for getting you into all that trouble |

Hope it works out for you both. Thanks. I'm actually not nervous or anything, and they're even getting me to take an anti-anxiety pill an hour in advance. Hopefully, I won't suffer much either although they do recommend that you take the next two days off. Hence why I chose to have it done on a Friday. |

And damn Cynips, you're BOTH getting snipped? Yeah, it would theoretically suffice for me to do it since it quicker and more effective, but the wife really doesn't want yet another pregnancy from hell. |

Happy B-day Warhawk, from down south, although I wouldn't call you old exactly...
Just went and reclaimed the wife from the hospital after four hours for her sterilization. Everything went fine and she's now sleeping in the bedroom together with both kids. Quite a coincidence that tomorrow is time for my snip-snip! I got instructions to keep ice packs ready for use all until bedtime Mine is of course a much simpler procedure, but wish me luck anyway! Last Friday when I went there I ended up having to go home again since they had managed to lose my appointment Managed to find the riminder note they had given me so at least now I can prove their error. Don't know about you guys, but these screw-ups happen us all the time. Only proves once again that the world is full of stupid people. |

Comparing North American gas prices to European prices is not a fair comparison. Fair or not, the US is still responsible for 28% of the worlds carbon dioxide emissions.
Also, the kinds of vehicles you find on the roads here in Riverside, CA clearly shows that people doesn't really care much about gas prices. The price is not much of an incentive for people to start pushing their politicians for some kind of change.
There are also still a lot of people who depend on their cars for driving long distances in Sweden, especially there since much of the country is not very densely populated. Not really anything you could call a luxury, but rather a necessity, so stop using historical differences between the US and other parts of the world as a argument infavor of continued massive pollution. Just deal with the problem instead! |

Damn it if the Mexicans can rally the people for a May 1st protest (along with all the others that have pasted already) then we can rally against these high gas prices. High prices? Are you joking? I hear in Sweden prices are over $6/gallon now. I say prices in the US need to be much higher so average Joe finally gets off his ass and starts telling politicians that he wants alternative fuel/transport.
TV Turnoff: so it's ok if I keep the TV going as long as it's just showing stuff from the HDD...? Whatever. |
