What? Complaining that Deus Ex is too slow is like complaining that Quake is too fast. The pace is inherent in the game's more methodical gameplay. As for "no memorable moments" in Deus Ex? What the hell game did you play, buddy? Your understanding of Deus Ex's dynamics seems to have all the depth and complexity of Sarah Palin's foreign policy. |

I have absolutely no problem with this model. I'm confident that Blizzard will make my purchase(s) worthwhile. There are very few developers about whom I can say this. If they can actually give me three full-length campaigns, all the better. Ultimately, I want *more* Starcraft rather than less.
That being said, I hope that all three races are available in multiplayer with the first purchase... with new units (for the previously introduced races) with each expansion.

My idea of Quake |

I agree with InBlack: Doom1, Doom2, and Quake1 were pretty much the pinnacle of id. I'd rather see Quake return to its roots. The whole Strogg thing was well and good, but calling it "Quake" effectively eclipsed the feel and aesthetic that (for me) made the original Quake so engaging. Quake should, in my mind, be less about sci-fi and more about gritty techno-gothic horror, with periods of apprehension interspersed with sudden moments of frenetic, stark-raving terror.

HPB roll call |

I started Quake on 28.8 and finished on a 56k - never even saw broadband. I also never once called anyone an LPB. I took a page from Clan Lagitus: Whether it was deathmatch, TWCTF or original TF... I killed without discrimination. Having to swim through a high ping just made my many victories all the sweeter. :-)
To the phone jack!

EA could be selling canned sex, and they'd never see a dime from me. I won't buy a thing they touch - no matter the developer. Having seen their (actual - not merely rumored) evil from the inside, I can't in good conscience support them.

"When I die I don't want to be buried, but I don't want to be cremated either. I want to be blown up. Put me on a pile of explosives and blow me up. Or throw my body from a helicopter. That would be fun. One stipulation: wherever I land, you have to leave me there. Even if it's the mayor's lawn. Just let me lie there. But keep the dogs away." -George Carlin

I find it ironic that the holders of one of the most maligned IPs in electronic entertainment now heroically stands against the industry's true villain, Electronic Arts.

I've found that the world is usually a better place when you do things that make EA angry and indignant. For this reason (and a few other reasons which I won't get into) I'm happy to see the ESA exodus begin. In summary, I'd like to say "Suck it EA" and "ha ha ha." Oh and "EA, your pain brings me joy." That is all.

Is it "Stalins" or just Stalin? Did he clone himself? :-)
That being said, if I were an invading alien, I would definitely begin by attacking a remote human outpost in the middle of a frozen waste. :-D
It worked in The Thing.

"At the end of the day, one company buying another means that people can keep working. Thats always a good thing."
Actually, this is often NOT the case. It all depends on why the company is bought and whether or not needless redundancies are created by the purchase. Hell, it's often the case that one developer buys another just to remove competition... or to get their hands on an intellectual property.
