"We're creating a ton of cool features that you won't have seen in any BF before, including cloaking devices, mines that follow you"
Wait, are these supposed to be GOOD things?
BF42 was good, but four releases since (2 crap expansion packs, one crap side project, one crap sequel) and I'm done giving DICE my money.

I don't know if it's true, but I read in a gamespy interview with Sid M. that the budget for GalCiv2 was $300,000 dollars. That just boggles my mind.
Also, I bought this game through download when it came out, and it was completely painless. There has been an update released every friday since then, and the stardock software patches effortlessly.

Strange, I've always preferred Gothic's gritty, "gothicy" graphics to Morrowind's Alice in Wonderland graphics. Art direction is more important than technical prowess I think.

People might not realize it, but this game had vehicles many years before bf42. I got BZ1 in a bundle with my voodoo2 12mb, and it was an awesome awesome game. Original and fun gameplay (which hasn't been done since in fact), very dark and atmospheric, quite challenging with room for creativity.
But hey - who needs all that crap when you can have W0RLD 0F W4RCR4FT!!!11

WoW and mmorpgs in general have by far the worst fun per unit of time ratio of any form of entertainment I've ever come across. However they are addictive, and you can play them from your bedroom with minimal mental and physical effort. Thus if you're lazy, have low standards and perhaps are a bit obsessive, these games will own you pretty fast.
Sorry Ray, but if it was possible for a man to 'perform' for six hours a day with the same enjoyment normal men do for a few minutes, as well as having willing participants, I don't think he could possibly turn it down =) Actually, that might be the pinnacle of existence.

When was the last time id made a good game? Doom3 took 4 years to make and turned out to be either garbage or a nice 15 hour romp, depending on your point of view. Either way, it didn't provide anything integral to the PC platform. I'm sure his engines will still be used for PC games, so not much loss on that front either.

Warlords, the first one, is a true classic for me up there with civ1, wolf3d and dune2. Warlords2 was pretty awesome too. Downhill from there.

have you played doom3? there is no use button and the game has some of the best ui interfaces, which shows that he's right about that
now, he also tried hard to rid of strafe jumping in quake at one point, but then just gave up and wisely so

When people use "LOL" and "LMAO" to signal strong sarcasm. I mean, when you read brokencow's "ROFLMAO" do you think he's actually rolling on the florr laughing his ass off? No, more like sitting completely grim in his chair, frothing at the mouth as he's typing away.
brokencow, no offense, but a single shot to the head from an AK kills a fully healthy opponent. If the game was as random as you say, anybody could get a high score in any round and nobody could consistently perform well. Yet back when I played this crap game, I could get #1 for 10 rounds in a row no problem.
The weird bunny hopping is jumping to the side and immediately pressing the go prone button. That way you have stable aim while in the air and give your opponent less of a target to shoot at. You can do it nonstop side to side, and every good player does it. That's the developer's fault for allowing that.

The original Hot Pursuit is still my favorite. Supercars that have some physics to them, dashboard view, varied tracks, great music and just no BS generally speaking.
They tried to recapture it with Hot Pursuit 2, but it just didn't feel right (the demo track was the only good one), too aracdey, and helis dropping barrels is a bit over the top.

He's too enthusiastic about q4 single player. I liked it, but it took just over 6 hours to complete on hard, and I wasn't even in a hurry. Which isn't to say that I would have liked it to be any longer, because I'm not sure I could handle another 6 hours of exactly the same stuff.
Still, $50 for 6 hours of kinda fun gameplay is max payne territory.

It's not just about the controller. With added precision from the mouse, you'll need to use high res (i.e. monitor/hdtv) to take full advantage. A skilled player can hit a pixel on the screen with rail/sniper, and on a tube tv such pixel won't even be visible.
So you'll have poor console chaps, clutching to their controllers and staring into their 27" tube tvs, getting decimated from where they can't even see by hardened fps goons sitting in front of their monitors with their $80 mice.
It'll be apocolypse for console players.

It takes a real special person to 1) go into the comments section for a game he thinks is pathetic and 2) call people who like the said game 'terminal geek-nerds' in all seriousness; while having almost 600 posts on a gaming news site in four months.
Every time I go into the comments section and see your name, cock captain, I reminisce about the days when the novelty and 'geekiness' of the internet populated bluesnews with fairly interesting, enthusiastic people, while asshats like you were restricted to AOL's confines. But alas, ever since word got out and retarded buttmonkeys like you, ass captain, learned how to start up internet explorer and type in a url address, even esoteric places like this site have been flooded with brainless cretins who make stupid posts comprised of stupid ideas backed up by stupider arguments.
There is an eerie parallel between the dumbing down of PC games, and the seeming dumbing down of the gaming audience. Although every time I accidentally read one of your posts before taking the precaution of looking at its author, cack captain, I'm reassured that the latter is far outpacing the former. But don't waste your breath space retard, I won't be checking this thread again.
