"By the time the patch comes out most people will have finished the game. So its a bit pointless IMHO"

not everyone buys games on the release day

The demo level for some reason is actually one of the weaker levels in the game. Its very hard to describe just how diverse the levels and gameplay in cod4 are, you never do the same thing for too long, very nice varied gameplay. They really have raised the bar on how a good FPS is made. Oh and the multi player is solid too with a leveling up system similar to RS:Vegas but done much, much better imo.

"This game sucks hard...and what kind of fool designs a 'shooter' with no first person mode? "

Cliff Blezinsky, but I wouldn't really call him a fool.

I think this is great news, many people want a GOOD star wars mmo, but it will only be good if they break the standard 'mold' if its just gonna be another EQ / WoW clone of grinding and all based around who has the best equipment then I guess it will appeal to those that like that kind of thing (people that dont have full time jobs and can afford all that time to get the best items) but in my eyes it would have failed, just my opinion.

edit: didnt EA recently aquire Bioware? that was particularly memorable because of the "Khaaaan!" comment someone added here on Blues so if Bioware are pwned by EA now (or whatever) what does this mean? EA and Lucasarts teaming up?

Considering the average dev cycle for a good game is 2 years I dont think 5 years is over the top at all, also taking into acount that there simply isn't that many dev houses able to pull off quality triple A titles. What game in particular do you see on the horizon to be better looking (not talking about art styles here, just technically) ? or which dev house to you hold in such high regard that will make what you see in Crysis look dated any time soon? You are no better than the people saying 'oh this sucks' without even giving reasons for your comments. Maybe I am retarded and arogant but at least I dont come on here calling people names just because they like to give thier own opinions

Crysis demo is nothing short of AMAZING, I can understand people saying that its not their kind of game or whatever, but people saying that it outright sucks are either totally burnt out on the FPS genre or are simply bitter they dont have the rig to play it the way its meant to be played. I guess there might be other reasons too, anti EA people or people that just think its cool to go against the hype, console boys aka PC haters, whatever, who cares, finally a game that puts PC right where it should be, light years ahead of what any console can dream of pulling off.

Its clear to me now that Crysis has taken the crown for most advanced game engine, I truly believe its 2 or 3 years ahad of everything else, maybe even 5. Not just the engine either, I found the whole package from the voice acting to the cinematic sequences even the menus and HUD to be 9.5 or 10 on a scale of 10. Finally I'd like to say this is not fanboy rant as I was myself sceptical as to wether this would be as good looking as the pre-release screenshots, and it is, Crytek have delivered. Thank You Guys, all your hard work has payed off in full.

damn people these days are so whiney, complaining about the prices, TF2 looks awesome, portal looks awesome, and we all know episode2 will be awesome too, all for 50 bucks? come on, essentially you are getting HL2 and episode1 for free to give away, wheres the problem?

people saying there will be pissed off steam users? well steam is a free service, if you dont like it then why dont you stop using it. Damn, people will whine about anything these days. Let me make this clear for those that are confused: this bundle is SUPER cheap even if you exclude HL2 and episode1.

"People still play this!?"

apparently so, crazy people, you know, same kind of people that still play SWG, and dont give me that crap about how its the only star wars online rpg out there cos any star wars fan that has played it will tell you it just does not have a star wars feel to it, at least not since its first release until the point where the players realised that the devs on SWG just do not listen, and just dont care.

"And for a split second, here I was thinking it was going to be a contemporary update of the old Saboteur games by Durell back in the Eighties."

thats exactly what I thought too, it was a great game back then.

"More to the topic at hand, I understand this game sucks."

you misunderstood

unless there is a problem with the pc version, I played the xb360 version for well over 80 hours (single player, thats how long it took me to complete the game and unluck all singleplayer achievements) and none of those hours were dull, no grinding etc, it was all fun, and its not like I didnt have other games to play, I just could not put it down, of course you have to like driving games in the first place

there are many posts about "xbox360 and PC versions VS the xbox1 and ps2 versions" and only if you are a gfx whore you will prefer the 'next gen' versions, the xbox1 version of the game is actually alot better gameplay and story wise with better cutscenes too. The xbox1 version is often compared to chaos theory which is generally regarded as the best in the series followed closely by the original splinter cell.

not only are the levels very different on xbox1 version (some levels are -much- bigger) but there are some graphical oddness on the 360/pc versions, like the night vision has a wierd bright green look to it instead of the cool grey with distance blur from the other games, heat vision also seems buggy on 360, on some level i have found that only peoples heads apear to be 'hot' and they are not wearing any special clothes to hide the heat, they are just wearing suits etc, oh well.

The xbox1 version is not compatible on the 360 yet and not likely for a good while so pickup a cheap xbox if you really wanna play the best version of double agent. I do feel kinda cheated for getting the 360 version instead of the xbox version, but having said that the 360 version is not crap, its just a different game (made by different dev teams) and does not feel as polished as the current gen versions.

EDIT - you could also wait a while and get the Wii version which is based on the current gen gameplay and story and presumably will have better grafix (im guessing here) than the current gen versions.

You're one of those trainspotters who sits by the side of the tracks and laughs at the graffiti on the side of the cars as they whiz by, aren't you?

or maybe he's just one of those people that has learned to look on the bright side of life and see that theres a funny side to everything instead of randomly insulting people for no reason at all, unlike yourself you miserable cunt.

Every new game that comes out shouldn't have to reinvent the genre in order for it to be good.

MMOG developers are learning good from other mistakes and they seem to usually offer what the best games cannot, one of the main selling points of Warhammer Online is that it CAN have full on world pvp and the raiding/defending of capital cities, incase you dont know World of Warcraft cannot currently do this as the servers crash if too many people assemble in the same zone.

so I doubt that Marvel will not have good PvP as this was one of the main things missing from City of Heroes, and even though it has pvp now I heard it aint all that.

what a terrible idea to get the city of heroes team to create this game, would be the same as getting the current starwars galaxies team to make a sequel :/ I hope they prove me wrong I really do.
