Spyware Warning! |

The difference between "Drivecleaner" and "DriveRcleaner" This is an announcement to everyone visiting our site. I have been receiving many emails lately from disgruntled people threatening legal action for an application which is loaded with spyware and malware and it is called "drivecleaner". This is in fact nothing we have created and should not be confused with the application we make and host on www.drivercleaner.net. Our application is called Drive"R"cleaner. (notice the R).
If everyone makes sure they download from the URL above then you will ensure you are getting our application. It is unfortunate that copycat makers are attempting to fool people into thinking this application is in some way affiliated with us - it's NOT, and I strongly recommend you do NOT download and install Drivecleaner as it is one hell of a nasty little application.
If you have this spyware application installed and need to remove it then I suggest the following steps, which will cost nothing.
Download Adaware SE Personal. Run this application.
Download Microsoft Windows Defender. Run this application. http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=124329

Amazing that the community had a replacement MSI file to fix this long before the company did something about it. (or maybe not amazing at all.)

The reasoning behind starforce in a demo (as has been pointed out many times) is that if you could get you hands on an unencrypted demo executable then you might be able to use that when cracking the full version.
Starforce sucks and disrupts normal usage and we've all been saying it forever but everyone just likes to shoo those who speak up away as deviant thieving crackers. gg.

The last straw for me with Mcafee was the popup everytime an update was ready for downloading, another when downloaded and yet another when installed. Most games don't respond well when pulled out of fullscreen (ex. WoW has major corruption that often requires a program restart which is great in the middle of a Ragnaros battle).
I've switched to AVG and have been quite happy so far. I cannot comment on behavior when cleaning emails as my university cleans them before they get to me but I did notice the scanner window and a "this email has been check blah blah blah" tag on each email. It's free for personal use so worth a try and the "pro" version has more options enabled.

Battlegrounds remained closed for a large part of the first day on Medivh. From what I've heard this is due to a lack of horde... Join Medivh and make a Horde, please!

That's funny, no one I know has xbox live and I wouldn't play it with them if they did. My PC is for playing multiplayer, thank you. And also, I know of several friends who just bought a GameCube this christmas which is great because now we can trade all the great games that exist and are in the works. Not to mention being able to play 8 player Mario Kart. Sorry but it isn't "dying."

id was able to go it alone in q3a, without GS. Companies need to stop depending on a shitty 3rd party for their browser/master server.

GameSpy is a piece of garbage from a company that doesn't give a shit about customers, only the money that they bring. There's no reason AA should use GS. Take 30 seconds, write your own in game browser and be over it.

Yes, one of the reasons I waited was because I wanted to see how many problems they could iron out and how quickly they did it. I don't think that really is all that odd. Actually, I'm very glad I missed the first few days with all of the same problems that occured during the start of the OB.
Second, not everyone celebrates christmas/chanukah/kwanza/festivus, remember? Maybe I can find and con someone who does

I'm glad I decided to wait until finals end in December to start playing this game. Maybe the voices of these paying customers are what was needed to kick them in the ass and fix some long outstanding issues... maybe.

Nate Mook, BetaNews’ editor-in-chief, has done some pretty good Nullsoft articles in the past, which is why I found the piece to be a little disapointing. It isn’t worth dwelling over too much though, as he’s probably busy covering the wide-range of tech material BetaNews reports on. While Nate writes that “no further improvements are expected” with future versions of Winamp, I have heard mention of items like Jump to File updates, ml_iPod/Single GUI bundles, and even “NSV2.” We probably won’t see that last one for a long time. http://www.winampunlimited.com/
