HOLY SHIT - This came out of nowhere; there was talk that it might be done before year's end but I really wasn't expecting it. Good news for the PS3 owners (all 10 of us), I think I have something I'll be asking Santa Clause for now.

PS3 GH3 Week 1 113k Makes sense considering the install base of PS3s is much smaller than the 360 (at least 1/2 if not 1/3) plus I wouldn't doubt that many of these owners have a 360 as well. Since there are more 360s in the wild people who have both are more apt to get the 360 version. It really comes down to the fact that Sony NEEDS to get more consoles out there if they are to profit from a multi-platform game.
I'm interested to see how PS3 sales of COD4 are compared to 360 sales. I picked up the 360 version only because it's on a TV that is more accessible to me, but considering the number of pre-pubescent "fagot" comments I get to hear when playing MP, I'm wondering if I didn't make a mistake.

I tried the VF5 demo and have to say I was impressed. I'm not much on fighting games, but it was good to see the fighting mechanics aren't exagerated like in every other fighting game.

I'll be getting this one. Yeah it wasn't the best CV, but I really like the old school "go anywhere" design they did with it. I really wish Konami would design a follow up to this or SotN (not the crap from the DS, I didn't care for those).

This could be both good and bad. I would love to play more KOTOR (in fact, if I could figure out a way to get my save from my original XBox over to my 360 I would be extremely happy) but the thought of an MMO scares me. I had a WOW account for 2 months and thankfully my PC broke down for a week causing a much needed detox affect .... after that I never reinstalled that E-Crack.

No, the memory glitch, if I recall correctly, is where you are able to see past events that occured in the place you're at. Not sure how to enable them or if they kick off on their own. I WILL be getting this game day 1 though, it's gonna kick ass. Now to figure out how to COD4 as well...

Ms isnt going to slap a HDDVD drive in now, itd make the current units more expensive than the PS3s and offer little. I would agree with that, considering how HD-DVD seems to be getting their asses handed to them in comparison to BD. I can't see that MS would add a next-gen drive in that may be obsolete after time.

If that report regarding the HD-DVD 360 is true, this would mean Toshiba has their hands in the pockets of Microsoft AND Sony Toshiba is the originator of the HD-DVD format so this makes complete sense. I find it funny that these big companies are reneging on their previous statements. Microsoft said that it would not be bringing out a 360 with built in HD-DVD (assuming this is true) and Sony said that it will always have their machines be backwards compatible. These guys should get into politics...

Well, on the bright side, if anything knows anything about pumping out sequels, it's EA. So we'll get Mass Effect "2" where it's the same story, but a few of the character models have changed and there's one new weapon.

Now all you PS3 people have to hope for is that there is also no Final Release of UT3 for PS3. No shit, for Epic backing the PS3 as much as they did originally I'm surprised at how they're more or less sticking it Sony; makes me wonder if they're having problems developing for the platform and not getting the support they need from Sony.

Don't you mean handing Nintendo the keys? Neither Sony nor Microsoft hold much of a candle to what Nintendo's Wii and DS are doing, right now. I gotta disagree with that statement; yeah the Wii's are flying off the shelf, but the software isn't. Most polls show that Wii owners own 1.x pieces of software whereas 360 owners own 4.x per unit. Yeah Nintendo is making money on the hardware, but they really haven't hit that sweet spot in software sales like MS has.
Either way, no BC for the PS3 is a pretty stupid thing considering there are over 120 MILLION PS2 owners who don't really want to give up their libraries for "next gen". I'm going to chalk this up as yet another dumb-ass move on Sony's part. That make <hmmm, carry the two, add in pre-release blunders> a shit-ton of fuckups this company has seen with this console. The next sku we'll see will probably include TWO memory stick pro duo slots, no BR playback, and only BC for PS1 and Dreamcast games -- idiots.

If this were true, that means at least 2'500'000 copies (figuring 90% of sales at least being the $60 basic edition,) in it's first day. From my understanding, there were well over a million pre-orders and MS was pushing 4.5 Million copies down the pipeline for launch. Yeah, I think that's a true number .... but for some reason this whole Halo thing irks me. I don't know if it's because I want to like the game and can't or because it's upsetting to see such a mediocre game (and series) take the cake for "Biggest day in US entertainment history". For me, the release of the Orange Box is going to be a much more exciting.
I just wish games like Mass Effect and GTA IV would see (and they may) midnight launches and all the hype.

as that also the exact release date for Mass Effect for the 360 and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for the PS3 The first will get my money, the second doesn't look all that great. Regardless, K&L will probably be similar to Lost Planet for me, pick it up used for <$25.

Wow, it's almost been a year after the PS Store launch and the PSP STILL isn't able to access it without a PS3. I would say that Sony needs to get their heads out of their asses, but that goes without saying ....
