Every bit of GTA4 info I get....I get a little more titillated. I hope all the hype doesn't ruin it........ QFT, I'm totally psyched for this game to hit and am glad to see they're starting to lift the veil around it. I'm going to go back to San Andreas (I know nin, you prefer Vice City) to get back in the mood ... it's not going to be good for my backlog but it's GTA!!! |

I have yet to see the PS3 live up to all the hype they put out. I overlooked this but I totally agree, the entire head of Sony should be chopped off by the way they led their first 9 months (and the 9 months prior to the arrival of the system). I think they realized that if you're going to talk shit, you'd better back it up and they couldn't. The $600 price point pushed quite a few people to take refuge in the 360 and they're still licking their wounds because of it.
Also, the PS3 will still stand on its own without an exclusive GTA, it's just going to have to work a bit harder at it. The thing they don't have yet is a AAA title that is exclusive, a point I think you're trying to make Tumbler, and a valid one indeed. At this point their boon is Blu-Ray's potential standardization so many of those on the fence will lean towards it. |

I think the most the PS3 can hope for is a game on par with the 360 version. I'm hearing you say that at this point PS3 games have been less than par with their 360 counterparts and this isn't true. Look at Burnout Paradise, Stranglehold, GRAW2, Rainbow Six Vegas, DMC4, and a MULTITUDE of other games that are up snuff on both systems. I agree that the PS3 has fallen short out of the gate, but there's no discounting games like Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Resistance, Warhawk, and UT3; these games may not be taking the system to another level, but they are taking it to one different than the 360.
I'm not bashing the 360, at this point that's the system I have the most games for. What I AM doing is pointing out that Sony's system isn't gimped, shoddy, or worthless. It holds its place in gaming just like the other system and is starting to have its own feet with gamers.
BTW, you left Little Big Planet out of that list of flagship titles (among which I would add Uncharted, UT3, and R&C).

That being said if history repeats itself for 360 vs PS3 sales we're looking at the 360 selling 3 copies for every 1 copy the PS3 sells.... the PS3 however should have it's fingers crossed. Well, I'll say that as of late I've had allot, and I mean A LOT, more people I know picking up a PS3 over a 360 so it's possible that the 3/1 gap may be closing. There's no doubt in my mind that this game will sell systems (Batman is a good example) for both parties. The 360 does have the added content which will entice some people, but others may not know, or even care, about the download-ables so it's gonna be tough to see.
As for the PS3 needing to have its fingers crossed ... why is that? Thankfully it's not EA doing to coding and the people at RockStar are a pretty competent bunch (much like Infinity Ward). Regardless, this game is going to sell like Bangkok hookers during tourist season and I'm gonna be playin' me some on day 1. |

It's not surprising to hear such claims by mostly first party(or former) Sony devs. When did Infinity Ward and Capcom become first party Sony developers?
The results are the same as the 360 version, yet no one has to "learn" how to make games for the 360 Cabezone, you're an idiot. You think that these guys were presented with a 360 and they just magically knew how to develop for it? It's a learning process, the difference here is that the 360 was "next gen" and nothing was on par with it, so when it took a while to develop for it was acceptable because it was "next gen". Since the 360 has had a full year's worth of lead in time over the PS3 people are going to be more adept to programming for it, not to mention that the dev tools are going to be more advanced.
People aren't defending learning to code because they're fanboys, they're defending it because it's logical. Also, stating that "... take advantage of the STUPID core of the PS3" shows your ignorance and XBox fanboyism. |

| It sucks that the Essential Collection isn't including the second disk from MGS3:Subsitance that allows you to play the original MG and MG2. Hopefully this pack will lower the price on Subsitance so I can pick it up cheap ... and yes I want to revisit MG (never played MG2, not that Snakes Revenge shit). |

OK, for some reason this line:
We're not going to gimp the 360 because the PS3 can't do it. stumps me, do they mean that there are features they'll use in the 360 that aren't available to the PS3? I'm not a communications major, but that sentence doesn't seem to have much context. I guess there is no reference to what "it" means. |

Man, I really hope they release the GH line soon in the US. I'm jonesin' to play some Resistance but I don't want to lay down $50 - $60 for it. Same with Ninja Gaiden Sigma ... but if they go for $30 I'll be grabbing both without hesitation.

There's no doubt that Sony has alot in front of them, but they need to at least put the game on a level playing field. IMO, the fact that the 360 will have the exclusive downloadable content makes my decision easy. I would like to get it for my PS3, but the only reason is to expand that library. That's OK, I'll be getting MGS4, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2 this year so at least I'll have SOMETHING to play on that machine.

Yeah, I had something like this happen as well but I held off when the guy was pushing me to send it "right away" because he really wanted the item. I told him I wanted to verify his payment was good through Paypal and told him I would ship in 3 days. Long story short, the payment was bunk and I needed to relist.
It's amazing how the asstards of today will look to ruin damn near ANYTHING they can.

I got this email and found it funny that they're giving the Gallary for free (a $.25 savings) and cut the listing fee by $.10 (or something like that), but you're getting raped by another $.85 when you sell something for $25 or over. Talk about spinning this to make it look like a great deal ... I think I'm about done with EBay after I sell my last bit of shit.

Until the PS3's price drop it was still cheaper to get all the accessories for the 360 then it was for the cheapest PS3. This is true, but the price HAS dropped and they've since brought out a more cost affective solution. Granted it's an extra $50, but with that $50 you get an extra 20GB of drive space, wireless connectivity, and a blu-ray player ... money well spent. Granted you don't get backwards compatability, but that only costs an extra $150 over the current XBox, still cheaper than it's MS counterpart.
I will say that the XBox has the library; I look at my stack of games and my XBox games overshadows my PS3 games by at least 4 to 1 ... this is mostly because I'm a cheapass and buy older games when they drop in price. For new games, it seems most of the deficiencies with the PS3 versions have been worked out and most times what you get on one system is pretty much the same as you get on another (DMC4 for example). Then again, there are games that give a system that extra edge, GTA:IV is an example there (with the 360 getting the downloadable content).
Also, for the previous comment that stated the PS3 was the reason for the delay on GTA:IV, this may be true, but keep in mind that there was still quite a bit of work to go on the game and I have a sneeking suspicion that the PS3 is just a skapegoat.

The part I played of the demo, you're in this dark cave, and there's no gamma or brightness adjust. I got the demo from GS in early December and I only played part of the cave ... to realize this game is going to suck. I couldn't bring myself to spend any more than 10 minutes with it ... 10 minutes I'll never get back.
