Seriously, someone and ID really needs to make a patch to fix the stupid ?Chainsaw? bug. Hell, I guess I will make a ?Doom 3: Realstic Single Player? mod, and simply replace the stupid model with a Sawzall model. While you're at it, replace all the demons with something else, too, because they don't exist. Oh yeah, space ships that fly to Mars don't exist, nor do any teleporters for them to be experimenting on. You'll have to get rid of most of the weapons, too.
The game is based on the original Doom, which, um, had chainsaws. So chill out and take a deep breath and suspend your disbelief like you do with every other game.
Oh, btw, they explain the chainsaws in emails in the game.

Oh and Blue "in spite of their own "fudging" being questioned by Carmack during the testing" Perhaps you can Find a QUOTE from camack suggesting "fudging"? There isnt any. Way to pull crap out of your ass buddy. Its also Quite humerous that Carmack Had tooled and CHANGED the high Quality path that Nvifia was taking a 50% hit on a year ago so that it uses all their percision hacks for speed.. Now THAT is Fudging. But i guess whith a wad of cash from id people are free to redefine whatever they want eh? Cahs makes right? Man, you need to calm down. You accuse Blue of making unsupported allegations that ATI fudged the results and then make your own by accusing id of being bribed by NVidia. It only benefits id to have the game run as good as possible on both ATI and NVidia hardware (why rule out half your market?). Isn't a more reasonable explanation that the specific way the Doom 3 renders things just a bit more in tune with NVidia hardware than ATI's?
Let's not forget that the benchmark they're doing is based on timedemo, which is only a test of the renderer and doesn't process the game code. So with AI and physics running the frame rate difference is going to be much less.
You are a biased idiot with no clue. You don't sound particularly unbiased either.
