A does mostly a very good job. But the QA doesn't decide about the budget for bugfixing. [/quote:

This should have been painfully obvious the first time ANY tester tired to play the game with a keyboard.

What do you think of your card?

Was considering buying one of these because of the bleh onboard audio I have been using, but it's hard to justify the money these days.

Im running Xonar Essence ST with DT880's and the sound is mind blowing, too many people neglect good sound by claiming onboard is sufficient.

not likely, just look at the numbers for RO today and compare them to other older games like BF2.

http://www.gametracker.com/search/ror/US/?sort=c_numplayers&order=DESC

RO has a very narrow audience, 100% PC developed with mod support or not it's never going to be an overwhelming success.

True, but look at a game like Counterstrike that is 100% PC with mod support, there is a ton of room to grow and potential, i'm not saying it's going to happen, but there is a chance. And a lot better chance then BF3 having a 5+ year lifespan (we all know NO ONE will be playing MW3 2 years after its launch).

I hope they don't go up against BF3, they won't stand much of a chance if they do.

They could pick up some numbers from people not willing to upgrade their OS and Graphics card but I don't know if that would be big enough to put a dent in BF3 player numbers.

I think TWI is looking at the long term, BF3/MW3 will blow them out of the water, no question there. But when people get bored of BF3/WM3 after a few months RO:HOS still still be going strong with tons of free content and mods (things the other games will lack).
ROHOS is looking at the long term (ie. Counterstrike) other then the short term immediate sales like the big guys. I for one would not be surprised to see ROHOS still going strong in 5+ years.

Still no Witcher 2 xfire fixes, hell Crysis 2 STILL doesn't work with dual cards.

Regretting my AMD cards with every bumpy game release, should have got 570's instead, but I figured I'd see what AMD has to offer

Why even bother in that case? This is why I don't buy these sorts of games anymore. I can see 2 or 3 movies for $15 and get 6-10 hours entertainment, as opposed to $70 they want.

Where the HELL are you buying your games from? It's 59$ ATM, and there has been (and will be a lot more) 20% or more sales before the games release.

Couldn't care less about the single player, most likely i won't play more then 20 mins of it, just like all the other MP FPS franchise that have the scripted single player components.

Looks cool. Will definitely pick it up after it's been patched many times, user mods have made it less consoley, and all the DLC has been bundled into a cheap GOTY edition! Fuck you, I'm a curmudgeon!

dont forget mods to replace the whack leveling system.

Looks like Pitchford has been beating off to Tarantino.

Imagine Randy, imagine a world where smelly game developers actually had an orginal thought, now imagine that thought being turned into a game.

Funny, I think that Trantino has never had an orginal thought, now theres a new generation of people who blatantly rip him off. What is this world coming to? Hopefully this will be delayed to Dec 22nd, 2012.

The Bad Company 2 beta was released a month and a half before the game shipped. The beta was in terrible shape while the final game was fucking awesome.

Your kidding right? that game had so many issues at launch.

So another EA "beta" huh? should be demo as we all know very little will change from "beta" to release, just with BC2 and MOH.

What about the MOH beta?

oh yeah and it looks like they'll be using the "avatar" from Mirror's Edge which was just awesome, that game had some of the best movement ever.

looks like "Left for Dead the RPG", I was REALLY interested in this game when they first announced it 5 years ago, back then they wanted to do a melee focused game with Romero/Brooks zombies (ie. they don't run).

where's that tool that kept saying player numbers were increasing

I'll stand by past statement that the player numbers were rising, unfortunately it looks like the game has been steadily dropping off by about half since I said that. But in my defense it looks as if ALL player numbers have dropped across all games monitored by steam, not sure whats going on there, could it be week vs weekend gaming I don't know.

Personally I have no trouble finding scrims and ringers if needed, there is a really solid community around this game so far, pubs might be a different story, of which i have no interest in.

In fact, I think the reason the non-inverted people make such a big deal out of it is because they know they are doing it backwards.

Your monitor is a 2D surface.

yes and no, its more a "window" into the game. obviously invert/non-invert is a preference, no amount of debate is going to change peoples opinions.

I agree 100% on the crossfire issues, I wish I would have realized that before I dumped almost $700 on video cards, but like I said, live and learn.

back on topic, The Withcer 2 is incredible and there is not enough hours in the day to work full time, sleep, scrim Brink, and play the Witcher. Oh well, at least I'm on the verge of a 3 day weekend and its supposed to rain all 3 days

this old argument again, inverted is natural, you move your head BACK to look up and your head FORWARD to look down.

Looking at your monitor, viewing the desktop, when you push the mouse forward, which way does the cursor move? Up. Pull back. Down.

If you were talking about the 4000 series I'd agree, but I bought a 6950 back in late March and it's not only quiet (Even at 40% fan speed) but I'm running the 11.2 drivers in Witcher 2 and getting great performance.

What exactly does ATI need to fix? I haven't seen any anomalies in the visuals with my card.

The 69xx series fans are super loud.
Every review I read on these cards said they where loud, so i was somewhat prepared, but I wasn't expecting this. At 60% or more it sounds like a jet talking off. It drowns out my V6 push/pull by about 3 times (and the V6 is know as a extremely loud cooler).

Every new game I've played since I got these cards have had performance issues, where the nvidia camp seems to be fine. Brink, Witcher 2, Crysis 2 (has problems with both ATI and Nvidia). I guess the Witcher's performance isn't horrible but I was expecting a lot more outta my rig from it, i7@4GHZ, 8GB Ram, 6950 CrossfireX. 40-60 FPS on high (SSAO, and ubersampling off) @ 1920x1200

Twitter posting by ATI about Witcher 2 hotfix driver including crossfire support:
http://twitter.com/#!/CatalystCreator

ATI needs to be on the ball more with developers. However, Witcher 2 has the Nvidia's "The way it's meant to be played" logo. But still.

Agreed, I'm super disappointed with these cards, the drivers are junk (every new game i've tried on them i've had issues) and they are so damn loud, gaming with headphones is a must.

I should have went with SLi'ed 570's instead. Live and learn I guess.

I'm apparently old school; I just CAN'T play an FPS view game without mouse inversion. I guess it's whatever you get used to. The standard a long time ago was what is now inverted, so newer gamers prefer the non-"flight control" style.
I used to be an inverted FPS player. But after a few years I realized that I had to switch and unlearn that because it's a bad habit to get into I realized. I don't use inverted mouse on the desktop, why should I use it for fps?

It was HELL trying to unlearn the inverted mouse controls it took a while but I did it. It's the gaming of equivalent of kicking a bad habit like smoking. Well okay, I might be overstating it a bit.

this old argument again, inverted is natural, you move your head BACK to look up and your head FORWARD to look down.

Best game I ever played.

I wish there where some ATI performance tweaks, I just switched from a SLI set up to 6950 crossfire setup (still need to apply the 6970 bios), and the game runs not as well as I had hoped Most likely its a ATI driver problem, but what isn't

Changing the mouse to inverted was a chore.
