I played SWG with some friends for a good four to six months, like most MMORPG's, took up a little too much of my time. When I first bought SWG I hated it, thought I'd wasted my money. The game is not noob friendly. Takes too long to understand how the game works, whats best, what professions are useless, blah blah.

I gave it another go and eventually picked up on the game, and I was hooked. As much as I hated the grinding, incredibly boring and once you've learned of Composite Armor and decent buffs you can't really die when hunting. So getting killed by stuff that would give me 3-5k XP per kill was no longer a problem.

PVP was fun, but the devs could have made it tens time better. Faction bases are useless. Don't need em, our player city had none - all they do is draw attacks, and are a waste of faction points. More rewards should be given when killing in PVP.

After a while of playing as TK/DOC - I finally saw that you HAVE to keep grinding more professions, otherwise the game stops there. Since the quests are pathetic, PVP gets old, and all the other stuff people say you can do is a joke.

So, I started my long grind towards unlocking my Jedi - and unlock I did. Took me 27 professions to unlock. Unlocked by killing a Picket after mastering Droid Engineer. Happy? For a while. Until you play your Jedi and realize the game doesn't really change. Now you have "Jedi Initiate" above your character and basically have a glowing vibro lance. Yawn. Oh, the grinding process for Jedi's - LOL - 27 professions just to redo the whole damn thing to get my Jedi to Padawan? LOOLOL - No thanks. So off to Ebay I went, Jedi Initiate, Tempest Server - 1-1-1-1. Got $646 for him. Not bad.

I did as much as you could in that game, had over 20 Million credits, enough krayt pearls to fill a large house, every item you could imagine, member of the strongest guild on Tempest, Over 250 PVP kills, done all the quests, got all the badges. Rebel, Imperial - AT-STs, had three in my time playing. You name it, I've done it. Not enough to keep me playing.

Oh yeah, WOW - that's what this thread was about... got my key!! Waiting for the stress test to go live - considering it IS a stress test.. thinking it's going to be like Lineage 2 when it hit Open Beta... Oh Well : |

For those having concerns over the hardware requirements, I'll just base my thoughts over the leaked alpha, the gameplay/fps rates could only be improved for the full game, but these are the average rates I scored (I'll upload my screenies later)

System 1 = Pentium 4 3.2GHZ p4, ABIT IC7 MAX3, 512MBPC3200CORSAIRXMS, 9800 PRO, Windows XP:

Non-Combat, standing still = 79FPS
Non-Combat, Moving = 50-69 FPS
Combat = Depending on the situation, (Level 1 - E3 Tech Demo)I had from anywhere 5fps to 63fps

System 2 = Athlon 64 FX-53SOCKET939, MSI K8T NEOII , 1GB MUSHKIN PC-3500, ATI RADEON X800 XT PE, Windows XP PRO

Non-Combat, standing still= My FPS monitor maxed at 99..
Non-combat, Moving - Anywhere from 82 to 99+...
Combat = 64 to 89fps

Once again, please don't flame. I full understand this is the alpha, but this should give somewhat of an idea how the game will perform on different hardware. I apologize for the numbers, I recorded the lowest number I saw and the highest number I saw, but of course with the full game it will be fully optimized and I believe a 3GHZ p4/64 3400+, 9700PRO-9800XT/5950 Ultra should run the game fine with all the bells and whistles turned on.

"Yeah I don't know what the bigdeal is. I played the beta a a year or 2 ago and it was a crappy game. I'm waiting for HL-2"

Wow, you're stupid. You judge a game one or two years before its released, based upon a *LEAKED ALPHA*, it wasn't a beta, and I'm sure you were playing it on today what would be a two year old shitty computer. Concerning HL2, to me it doesn't seem to have any life at all - If Valve would stop fucking around trying to prosecute those who stole the Source code and get the damn game out, mabye we'd be playing it by now..
