I do feel sorry for the woman, and her family.

The sheer amount of asshattery and dickishness in game studio/publisher management is insane. I've worked in government positions that have had less bureaucracy and more streamlined communications.

I was well pleased to leave it all behind for a stable job that didn't involve balding 40+ year old has-beens still clinging to the glory of a title that shipped 20 years ago.

It's good but a tad thin. It reminds me of Sins of a Solar Empire in that respect. Quick to pick up and play but not a great deal beneath the surface. SOSE being a Homeworld-like 4x lite, Endless Space a Galciv-like 4x lite.

It is very polished and I'm sure I'll get my money's worth though.

Agreed on the Galciv part but I wouldn't compare SoSE to Homeworld. Those are two vastly separate games in terms of style, gameplay and purpose. The only thing they really have in common is the theme of space.

Of course. Something I dont understand: what is te difference between Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_Speed:_Most_Wanted
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_Speed:_Hot_Pursuit_(2010_video_game)

Please... dont waste my time to look up info that you can find for free...
Whoa man, nice answer. I was looking for opinions, as I see the games are really similar. The only difference I see is that you cant play as cop in MW. I dont care what a wiki says (I've played all NFS games since The Need for Speed...)

Why be helpful when you can just be a flatout dick and tell yourself how cool you are?

If that much time has to be spent trying to tell people how to play the game and not why they should play the game, your design has failed miserably.

One person enjoying the idiosyncratic esoterica of a game while many more finding it obtuse at best (from what I have read here and elsewhere) doesn't make it subtle or clever.

Could it actually run any worse?

Yes, it could run like Saints Row 2.

...no genius, he's playing it on his computer that he can afford--he's not a lifeless turd like you living out of your mom's basement having no bills to pay and saving up $ for the best computer on the market because you don't spend $ on anything else because your mom covers it you fat ugly gamer lifer nerd whos a virgin to real life and the only power you have is typing on internet forums belittling others that don't spend $2,000 on a computer like you.

I take umbrage to this statement. Having a fair bit of disposable cash to do with as you please doesn't necessarily equate to a familial living arrangement, poor health, unfavorable aesthetics or reproductive inactivity.

It just makes you sound extremely, and pitifully, bitter toward those who have greater financial means than yourself. In fact, even the single sentence snark doesn't justify a run-on diatribe of that length.

Besides, Diablo 3 rules in co-op. In fact, it's probably the greatest multiplayer game ever invented.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
I hate <game name here>,
And you should, too.

You have a differing opinion?
We can not respectfully disagree.
I'll call you a cunt faced troll,
Because you are, obviously.

You'll question my intelligence,
you'll intimate that my father was my brother.
I'll call you a fanboy,
and tell you I fucked your mother.

Blue will roar in,
Holding banhammer high
Posts will be deleted
Some will wonder "Why?"

But after it's all over,
the bans and the culls,
We'll sit back and laugh
and say it's for "teh lulz".

But somewhere in the dark,
sits a nerd with a heaving chest.
As tears roll down his sallow face,
the Steam key of his favorite game will be pressed,
To his lips and so lovingly kissed.
Then it's back to the forums,
to nerdrage with an iron cyberfist!

Now, granted, like the psychosexual broad, Saints Row has a glaring problem (at least that I and a couple friends experienced). If you play co-op over Live, and your client gets desynced, your save game is seriously fucked.

The game doesn't use GFWL.

There's also Xbox Live, Jerykk.

I played all the GTAs, but never tried SR. I take it from the comments here, you guys'd recommend SR3? Looks like a fun game from gameplay vidoes on YouTube.

Yes.

I would recommend it in this way:

Playing any GTA past Vice City is like being tortured, violated and kept "company" by the single most boring, fat and dumpy broad to walk the earth. The kind of landwhale who would quote bad romcoms and chick flicks lines at you in every situation possible, no matter how tenuously relevant it may have been. After a short amount of time, you notice how shallow, lifeless and alarmingly stereotypical she is, even as she claims to be deep, compelling and free-spirited.

Saints Row, on the other hand, is like that crazy and hot broad you nailed in college. She was hellaciously fun at parties, would fuck your brains out six ways from Sunday when you called her at 3am on a Wednesday and never expected so much as a call the next morning.

Now, granted, like the psychosexual broad, Saints Row has a glaring problem (at least that I and a couple friends experienced). If you play co-op over Live, and your client gets desynced, your save game is seriously fucked.

I should make it clear: I love the Saints Row series like a fat dude loves Asian women. Grand Theft Auto is one of the most overhyped and ridiculously badly written game series of all time, in my opinion. Your mileage may vary. Try your waitress, tip the veal.

Geez, from the Total Biscuit vid, by the Valve doctrine of game development and storytelling, then the developers are guilty of cutscene crimes on the order of capital offenses and deserving exile.

At the very least, they deserve prison-style anal violation and then exile from the tribe.

What if I just stopped buying games? No, I don't mean switching to exclusively pirating them. I mean just stopped being a customer altogether.

I know that I would find a new hobby or devote more time to a preexisting one but I don't think it would do anything positive to change this behavior of "stick it to the customer at all costs".

Perhaps the only real solution is piracy,

This will do well.

Their target market is clearly bending units.

UI looks busy and lame. I'd expect this from an early 2000s era game ut not in a modern title.
