Sorry about that. The server has been moved, and I think a database was turned back on before it was done migrating. No worries. I didn't write the ultimate secrets of the universe in there or anything.
....or did I?
I should take a closer look at that Aeron chair you guys are mentioning. It looks a bit weird, but I might have to try one out. Then try justifying the cost..

is up with these tropical New England rainstorms that last all of 10-20 minutes these days?
Morning: Clear sky. Noon: Clouds rolling in. 1pmish: Break for lunch and run to the car as I hear rain slamming down on the roof in our windowless office. Get drenched, close car windows. 5 minutes after: Pull into Subway & Pizza (not the chain Subway), order food. 10 minutes after that: get food, turn around and find blue sky again with rain having mostly stopped. After another 5 minutes: Park back in parking lot, walk to front door and notice the sun teasingly reappearing almost as if to say "ha-ha!".
Chicken Parmesan foot-long sandwich with water and a brownie: $10.03
The look on my face as the sun was eeking out from behind a cloud innocently: priceless.

EDIT: Good luck with the evergreens, Blue!

Watching Bush live talk about energy.....never really noticed it before - but he really talks down to people. It's not just the talking about energy, for me. I actually find it insulting to my intelligence how he speaks to the audience in general. Granted, a better speaker, with the appropriate body language, might well be able to lie much more easily, but then we're delving into an entirely different conversation, perhaps about "change".
Just my $0.02.

Very sorry to hear that, Blue. Seconded.
My own aunt is taking experimental meds to slow down the disease, and she'd been diagnosed with it back in the mid-90s... *knocks on wood*

Thank you "for being a friend," and a great (imho) comedic actress, even if the movie I'd seen you in was a flop (Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!)...

Anyone see the movie "The Visitor"?
Vague mini-review:
Charming in the first half or so, but takes a downturn when (I feel) it becomes desperately manipulative (almost insultingly, to me) in trying to push a political message. Still, the characterizations and interactions for the most part were pretty good, and I liked the music quite a bit - makes me want to take up the "drum"... but it drops several notches for trying to force a point onto viewers. Editing was also a little weird.
6.5/10...
....
Looking at all the pretty colors on my elbows,

Sorry to hear that Dan.
So now what? Is there anything you can do about it? Just try to maintain it as best as possible so that I don't go further downward into the category of osteoporosis - calcium, weight-bearing exercise (walking/jogging), calcium, taking supplements/prescription medications, did I mention calcium?
I mean, there is a slight possibility that I may gain a marginal amount of bone density after a while if I go through some sort of routine exercise and diet catering to that, but usually at 30-35 years of age the body stops building up bone density, and loss starts / has to be prevented.. considering I'm already way low, and at 30 years old, that means no more acrobatic stunts for me - not that I ever did any - or even simply falling onto my hips or lower back.
There's plenty I can do to maintain it, but there is no cure, as it were. If I do indeed have celiac disease then that would explain it in part, as well possibly the fact that I was pumped with steroids for a while right after I was born three weeks premature... though that could be a stretch. But yeah, I'm like a freaking 80 year old skeleton in an otherwise 30 year old body. Eh, fark it, just call me Mr. Glass.
EDIT: A bit of clarification here and there...
Dan =0)
PS That begs the question, who would be my hydrophobic counterpart?

Considering all the what-not last year about the "down sizing" of it, I agree. Great news for games this year, bad news for my bones "downsizing" - osteopenia verified this morning, followed by 4 attempts to draw blood (with a 5th successful one) to check to see whether or not I have celiac disease (sis has been diagnosed, nieces getting tested)... whee!
But yeah, too many games out that I want to get/play, too little time...
EDIT: I swear I read that play link initially as "Pentagon-Online"... thinking it might be some neat government-type spy game or something...

Well, had my bone mineral density / DEXA scan yesterday. I'll find out the results of that in about two weeks, when I next see my physician.
My mother called me this afternoon and told me my sister's been diagnosed with celiac disease. So, her kids will be tested for it - and I might as ewll, too. It would further explain the osteopenia I may and possibly will have...!!! Ain't life grand?

My Brother and I picked up a Scion XB (Toaster on wheels) when they came out and have been happy as hell with it. The thing has one of the best drivers position of any car I've ever owned (I've owned close to 40), plenty of room and its great on gas. Heh. "Toaster (or box) on wheels" is why some people I know wouldn't drive it; that, and the fact that the older models at least seemed smallish from the outside.
For comparison's sake, I'm driving a '98 Hyundai Elantra station wagon that, if my calculation is correct, gets around 29MPG overall. Not great, not bad, I guess. Heck fun to drive, though, as it has a manual shift, which no one in my family would touch with a 40-foot pole. (They all drive automatics.)

Ahh I wanted to be able to summon the chopper at will...I believe that was the reward for killing all the pigeons is it not? Bah. All this GTA IV talk makes me want to get an XBOX 360 or PS3 (which just might break my self-imposed Sony-buying-ban) and play... I got a taste of it at a friend's house yesterday on his 52" HDTV and I must say it was gorgeous. We decided to, er, make a game out of running over pedestrians for the heck of it to quickly pass time before watching an episode of Dr. Who...
EDIT: Must add that while I did think the detail was great, the colors looked a bit washed out in a sort-of brown/sepia tone. Might've been because friend's nephew's PS3 wasn't configured for friend's TV... either way, I also realize a lot of people say GTA IV in fact looks better on XBOX360. Friend's nephews claim it's the PS3's lighting (or some such) that makes it somehow more realistic.
Anywho, on another note, Spore Creature Creator is, in my humble opinion, not really much to write home about, so far....
Anyone up for TF2, BF2 or BF2142? And the $6M question is: Anyone here still play Guild Wars?

I'm just surprised nin hasn't broken the counter yet. There was one point in the last couple of weeks where nin had to create a new login due to some password glitch, jokingly attributed at the time to his high postcount...

on TV, but I gotta hand it to the Celtics - the last quarter of the game was pretty intense, I thought.
I caught most of it, split between setting up A/V at a friend's house, and meeting up with another friend at a local Cajun restaurant (Border Cafe).

What in the hell is this?! A couple comments up, "DejaMew" presumably is "sending" dots to "JCK4K" as a birthday present. DejaMew continues going on for a couple posts talking about what s/he imagines those dots look like.
Either way, it's dumb.
EDIT: Translation -
icanhascheezburger-ic "hmmmm . . . . . de dawtz wif spacez be kinda lyke de froot salid wif poppiiseeed sawces. . . . . . . . ……….. it be gewd eivver way!"
English-ic "hmmmm . . . . . the dots with spaces are kinda like a fruit salad with poppyseed sauces. . . . . . . . ……….. it's good either way!"
Not that I'm fond of reading the captions or (especially) the comments, which sometimes make my head hurt as to the in(s)anity of it all...
