Be aware that here is no demo yet, and no sign of one on the horizon, so unless you are 100% certain that the hype is justified, its going to be a $50 gamble buying this one.
Why can't they do a Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and release a kickass demo? surely there is nothing to hide?

please dont, you will be downloading and trying a game PURELY because of this controversy. This is marketign a game by means of being sick and controversial. personally I think we would get better games if they were marketed on the basis of being immersive and great fun.
Everyone that downloads this game is just adding to the idea that the best way to make your game a success is to make it sick and controversial.
treat it with the contempt it deserves. ignore it and play Half Life 2.

personally i dont see why this should be covered by the gaming press. Sounds like a cheap crap game thats trying to get publicity by being controversial. so far so manhunt. If these games were any good they wouldnt have to go for the 'shock value'/ Lets not dignify this trash with press coverage, Im sure there are a number of decent new indie games bluesnews could be covering instead of this tabloid dross.

yeah its a good point. we can whine all we like but we still buy the games... Look at all the horsehit we have got from valve and vivendi, yet we are all going to buy half life 2.
Money talks. Until everything changes from a purchase system to a rental (pay per play) system, there is no incentive for companies to produce good quality, fun, bug free games. If they can generate the hype, we seem to buy it.
If Half Life 2 is a bug ridden unplayable mess, Valve still get their money. (i dont expect this to happen, but with the current system, it could do).

Thanks for posting this, its VERY helpfull. I loved the demo of this game, but i refuse to act as ataris unpaid QA dept. if they cant be arsed to do any bug testing, ill hold of buying it (maybe even wait for the price to drop).

I found this demo to be pretty lame. Even with alol the graphics turned to max, it doesnt look all that, the shadows arent even working right as far as i can tell, and like the last 2 games, it all ends up as an uncontrollable 'pub-fight' within minutes of a battle.
The camera system is a real bitch, and the animations are pretty poor too.
To be honest, it baffles me how this is supposed to be any better than the first two games (both of whcih i bought), it feels more like a mission pack for shogun. They havent made any improvements to the AI, units still behave like disoriented ants, theres nothing to suggest this is a roman battle other than different graphics.
I wonder why it took them so long to come up witha game that feels (if anything) inferior to the original shogun.

I am on adsl, but a lot of people are not.
I'm not waiting an hour to downlaod a demo thats only got one level in it. Cant they make some minor effort to make it smaller? its just laziness.

who gives a damn about this. I'm not downaloading 450 meg for a one level demo. Why the Fck is it so big? No way is there 450 meg of art and sound in one level.
I'll wait till it comes out on a coverdisk, sorry guys but its just not worth the download time, I could d/l a dozen good shareware titles (and try them) in the time it takes to get this beast.

jesus christ. they expect me to downlaod 420 meg for 1 level demo? you must be kidding, even on adsl.
added to the fact that its not on their website, one of those links offers a torrent file (wtf?) and the other is just a blank page.
I think ill forget about this one thanks. Come back to me when you have a nice simple ftp link top your game that isnt over 100MB and Ill think about it...
