Good to hear, Squirrel.
I'll admit I hadn't heard of this engine until this buyout, but looking at the shots I have no idea why. Definitely ahead of its time.
Tim, you do kickass lighting work. I hope Epic fully incorporates your glow/exposure/lightsource effects, and good luck.
As for Epic... Kind of funny that we were just talking about Epic making licensing moves a few days ago with that Silicon Knights announcement.

I thought this was kind of interesting to hear. I mean, I don't feel so tingly when I read PR stuff that sounds like they're addressing us as shareholders - "this partnership will maximize potential earnings while providing a series of barely-distinguishable sequels" - but I guess the Unreal content creation path is winning 'em over.

Prez, good points but you forget one key thing:
5) PCs are a necessity.
Why? They set the tone for technology in consoles. I forget who made the quote, but a few years back someone in the industry said that PCs will always have a place because while they're continuously improving, consoles are only a snapshot in time of the best hardware. They cannot be any better than that.
Some of the best console developers came from making PC games. (This is a source of angst for me when they stop supporting the PC, but nonetheless) The development platform for anything is the PC. FPS's are inherently better. RPGs tend to have more depth on the PC. Overall, memory and graphics advantages on the PC make it (at least in view of sheer prowess) a natural choice for gaming.
You think Valve will stop making games for the PC with the sales of HL2? We will continue to see more cross-platform games, as is the trend, and we'll continue to see the occasional defection like this Ghost Recon bullshit but making sure games hit the PC is a natural choice for anyone wanting to maximize their profit.

Looking forward to this.
The original was definitely buggy as all hell, but Sacred Plus fixed virtually all of it and added content.
It's a roided-up Diablo at this point. Not quite as tight, but good and with a lot more content.

Mouse input was a little insensitive/funky, but I still played VC to death anyway.
Those snipers, btw - you can pop them from the village. Spotting them and not getting shot is the difficult part.

I spent so much time up in the little bird in DC that it wouldn't be right to keep myself away from this.
Hell, I even enjoyed piloting the weaponless bird (skids version) at LAN parties and just ferrying troops.

Whew. Congrats, Blue.
I was starting to get a little nervous there for a while, seeing some of these game announcements and not being able to toss in any commentary. Just didn't seem right not being able to poke fun.

I don't know how to respond to this. It sounds meh, but I'm morbidly curious (and it's refreshing) to read more about this honestly-marketed title.
Well, if the honest marketing continues.
"RattHunter - please don't buy it."

Also, having three posts under your belt before you flame a regular tends to help - you know, don't wanna give away you're an asshole too quickly.
Hell, I waited for, like, at least 7 posts myself.

Ok. 17 on the nerd quiz, 18 on the loser quiz.
So what am I doing here? There must be some fuzzy math in those tests.
