19. what you guys don't really get is that before with the old hl1, you had all that sierra crap installed too OMG SUE SIERRA...
Grow up guys. If they start to abuse what they have it will be taken from them, and if I'm one of the abused I will be compensated for it.
I am a vigerous supporter of steam, Screw the publishers. This is the same thing music artists _wish_ they could do.

Half-Life: Source comes in the box you get at the store.
That means you will get it on or before launch of HL2 with steam. As for DOD: Source nothing has been said either way yet, and since it's only in Steam packages, and I believe it's being done by someone other than Valve, there isn't any sure way to tell unless they come out and say something.

Gojo, your post has nothing to do with this thread. Might I suggest you stop advertising?
As for 3dfx, I remember getting my first Voodoo2, and loaning it to my friend to see Quake2 in 1024x768 for the first time. I was quite bummed when figuring out it didn't have enough ram for 32bit in that res  but it was cool none the less; later I picked up my 2nd one, from there it's all a blur, I've upgraded too many times to count.

I wouldn't buy any game like UT2004 which requires a CD key to play online from ebay since there is no way to prevent the key from being used by the game's former owner.
This is how I bought my first copy of HL. I still use that key for my low low steam id

Yeah bronco; I did that last night with a group it was awesome...
Except that we got our asses kicked
now I'm 22 instead of 19, our group should be going back soon to finish it right.
22 Human Paladin and greatful they pushed it back to sunday

Actually, I paid for Lineage 2, I was able to start playing it at midnight that morning it came out; while everyone else had to wait 8-10 hours for thier local store to open.
CS:CZ could have been similar, but it wouldn't unlock until some had it in thier hands.

I had some crash issues with my 9600xt, I've updated to the beta drivers, and those crashes dissapeared.

Free game dude, did i hear someone say CD-key generator? Doesn't matter I just played part of the demo, the game is crap
If you want to play troy, go play Age of Mythology; I had way more fun with those levels than this demo.
