I'm almost certain that other 'news' about nvidia stopping the latest video cards was inferred from this news about the Motherboard Chipsets.
Not to mention that other site was hunting for ad revenue.

Seriously? Look at the forums on that site. Only back a few months. All the links point to that site. No other evidence has been around to say any of this is remotely true.

Someone is either trying to sway people to ATi, or they are just trying to drive people to read articles so they get more ad money.

I use ATi cards, and NV cards. I am not biased.

Defense Grid is awesome! But, Direct2Drive is shit. I tried to buy a few games over the past week, and have had nothing but problems with them.

First they wouldn't take my credit cards,
Then they limit you to 3 purchases a day? (wtf)

I finally finished downloading the 7.1GB Riddick to find out it's corrupt and fails CRC checks.
I downloaded it again with their downloader, and it was still corrupt.
their Customer Support is only online and hasn't responded to any of my tickets.

My only recourse is to reverse the charges on my credit card.
I wont ever use their service again, and since I can't use the games I bought they have until tomorrow afternoon before I reverse charges.
Seriously shitty service, I'd stay far away if I were you.

I bought Defense Grid on steam.

Wow, Chill out. Gamers enjoy games. I enjoy them all console or PC, doesn't matter. What console landed on your house, and killed your favorite animal? Without Halos there isn't a point about taking risks to find a new Halo. Catch-22

You can't play Thief: Deadly Shadows through GameTap on a 64bit system.

Can we just skip past this horrible time when writers are trying to get their groove back after the strike? Please?!

Make up your own ideas, stop making shitty video game movies.

Who the heck cares if you have to activate it on-line. Do publishers and developers have any right what-so-ever to protect their intellectual property. Don't give me this garbage about not everyone has an internet connection, if you have a computer capable of running a game like Bioshock, there is a 99.99999% chance you have internet access.

My nephew was given spore for his birthday and he was unable to play it for months, I ended up giving him my old gaming pc, but they don't have internet at his house. Even though he had an awesome pc to play it, he couldn't until he brought it back over to my house to activate it. -- That is total bullshit.

I'm still updating with Steam. I was looking forward to playing today too.

At times it will go 700k/s and at other times it will drop to 20k/s. It's currently at 15k/s. Maybe I'll play it by the time the next expansion comes out...

News Comments > Steam In-Game DLC
7. Re: Steam In-Game DLC Mar 16, 2009, 22:25 raVen

"DLC can now be added to any game on Steam, regardless of whether it was originally purchased via Steam, at retail, or via other digital outlets." ... Why does it say I have to purchase games through steam for addons?

Direct from steam: COMPATIBLE ONLY WITH SPORE™ GAMES PURCHASED FROM THE STEAM WEBSITE. IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED THE SPORE™ GAME FROM ANY RETAILER OTHER THAN STEAM, THIS VERSION OF SPORE™ CREEPY & CUTE PARTS PACK WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY.

Same with other 'add-ons' to games in steam:
Spore Creepy & Cute parts pack
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
The expansions to Heroes of Might and Magic V
Quake II expansions
(Company of Heroes used to state that about it's expansion but no longer does)

I'm sure there are more, that's what I found upon a quick look. Or are they just saying from now on?

Lay off those high-priced directors and hire replacements for less pay.
Why do you all assume you know what would be best for a situation you know nothing about other than what you hear from Kotaku and news sites?

Layoffs suck, and to those involved thoughts go out to you.
