you gotta be kidding right? Riddick is a really really average game , with some vaseline on the textures. I mean it's not bad, but no where near as fun as HL2 Real-time lighting good game make does not. Doom 3 proved that....

well put Mr Blue. Couldn't agree more. Even the parts of HL2 that should be basic shootouts, end up being just more fun. And thats what a game is all about right? Not what it can do, but how much fun you have playing it. Just something about HL and HL2 that "feels" right.

Maybe there was a data entry error at Eidos. Maybe they were looking at the sales for Thief or something. If games like Shellshock can sell that well, I think I need to quit gaming and find a new hobby. And if for some god forsaken reason it really did sell 800,000 units they should be putting the money and staff towards a new project!! Like fixing Deus Ex:IW. Well maybe not the staff..

People get so upset on forums when someone doesn't like their game. People who are satisfied with something are much less likely to find the need to go to a forum. I personaly love Half-Life 2, and didn'T have the stuttering problem. I also enjoyed Far Cry and Doom 3. I would also probably enjoy Halo 2. Could i pick the games apart one by one and find lots of things I don't like about them? Sure, but I certainly didn'T waste my money. Games don't cost that much more than they did 6 years ago, and they are just 10x better.

Dude you don'T have to "activate" it everytime you format your HD. Steam uses an id. It remembers you and it will remember if you activated it already. You will have to DL Steam again and thats it. And if you ever lost or broke your CD, you wouldn't have to buy the game again. Since you already activated the CD key on steam you can just DL the game.

I think ts a good idea and I might do it. But they require Hordes of the Underdark. I would be perhaps willing if they also offered HotU as one of the modules you could buy online. Now that we have this, Steam and D2D , I hope buying games online continues to grow.

yes exactly. Driver was fun as hell. Then GTA III came alone, and it was forgotten and then some. They figured they could squeeze back in, but .... wrong I guess.

Yup all the old fogies come out to complain when there is change.. Was there the same problem when the first games started appearing that were cd-rom only? " Back in my day we used a box full of floppies! And dag-nabbit, we liked it! " Cheap to buy, easy to install! And if you computer didn't come with a DVD drive how old is it? Will it even run HL2?

I have enjoyed a lot of their games. NOLF and NOLF 2 -fun cause they actually did something different for a change AvP 2 - wow! scary, and you get to play as all three sides. TRON 2.0 - very well done! The movie brings back childhood memories, and the little jokes through the game cracked me up.

F.E.A.R looks really great, which I am sure is why Warner is interested.
Plus Warner Brothers has that new policy right? Companies who make games based on Warner Brothers movies that score less that 70% scores need to pay extra royalties. This means they are taking games seriously, and know the potential to make big stacks of cash is everygrowing. Shame though that a good game company can't survive on its own without a big brother to buy em.

whats the big deal? Then buy the cds and download the patches same as any other game. This isn't going to disapear with Steam. Steam is just another way. And one that works well too.

Ubisoft has the worst support ever in game history. I know they don't make the patches themselves, but they will release anything.

As for the patch for FarCry. It was fine on ATI cards up to the 9800xt. Its seems that its the news cards (X800 series) that was having the problems)

Well if its just Counter Strike converted over to Source , then it really isn't Counter Strike 2. Same game with new graphics don't really count as a sequel. Plus can a mod be a sequel? Mods are always being improved, so I guess this is just a big one.

Fileplanet has a high resolution version up of both of the new E3 Half-Life 2 videos, but its a huge file. Dling at 333Kps, and 4 hours remaining

I read that Max Payne 2 was the first game to be released using Havoc 2.0. Half-Life 2 would have been the first if it had made the Sept 30 release date.
