I still play it occasionally, it's like Deus Ex for me. My son and I pull it out and give it a spin every year or two. I appreciate that someone stepped up and did some major patching when Troika was unable to.

Hopefully someday there will be a game set in the same universe that is as interesting as this one.

I noticed not a word about regretting laying these people off or thanking them for their work. Just corporate-speak gobblygook. But why hang a human face on this?

I prefer to think it will ship with all new bugs...bugs its predecessor never knew. Exciting groundbreaking bugs that will inflame the Gothic community.

Great...my Arcanum disk has been heavily scratched for years. All I've been able to do is listen to the soundtrack they released online a while ago.

Hopefully this will be something along the lines of The Manhole. Be cool if there were a modern day equivalent, Cyan claimed they were working on an updated version but that was years ago.

Funny, I thought Bill Roper took the sceptre/throne from Romero a few years ago.

I was skimming over the license agreement and found Splitscreen will post notification of any such changes to this License Agreement on the World of Warcraft website and will post the revised version of this License Agreement in this location, ...yadda, yadda, yadda.

Why the World of Warcraft website? I have a few suspicions but there's probably an innocent answer.

I remember Midwinter and it's sequel but for once I had too many games to play and never got around to playing it after fooling around for 15 minutes or so but it looked interesting. Really wanted to hang glide in it but.....ah well.

I loved the game but couldn't get past a mission where you had to protect two separate convoys or something. I always lost the second one after a brief fight. But my gaming skills were still rudimentary (as opposed to now where they're atrophying).

Always wished for something to take its place. The Mechwarrior series was good but not quite the same thing.

I've heard this about every roll out of Windows, even 3.1 I think. The only one that made gaming easier was Windows 95 because it got rid of config and autoexec files. God I remembering tinkering with those to squeeze out a little more base memory. And DirectX was an improvement eventually despite some its flaws since it helped clean up the mess that 3D video was becoming.

I don't have Spore or intend to get it (for various reasons most people are sick of hearing Wall2 ) but this seems kind of cool and not unreasonably priced considering it's customized to each creation.

I just wish they would start up again on Imperator. But If they decided not to do it as an indie, EA sure as hell isn't going to finance something so risky. No premade IP to tie it to.

Thanks for the link.

Yeah, from the readme he sadly seems to have missed the spirit of the map. I'll load it up and give it a spin but I don't have high hopes.

There's at least two servers that run Rock 2 occasionally but unfortunately there's usually not too big a crowd on them.

I'd kill for a remake of Town2 from QWTF.......maybe someday.

I loved the tripwires. Can't count how many times I killed myself trying to setup a beautiful, elaborate trap only to screw up the last trip wire. My friends thought it was hilarious though.......

Is the lifetime subscriber plan still purchasable? I think it might be the best bang for my buck right now. I'm sure they'll keep this game going for at least a couple more years.

I think they're just trying to avoid another Anarchy Online rollout. God that was painful.

The review for Hellgate says 'A demo should never be used as a measure of a games quality and Hellgate: London is actually a lot better than the demo let on.'

What's the point of playing the demo if not to get a taste of how the game is? I keep seeing people saying don't judge the game by the demo. I keep thinking....why not? I realize that the demo is not the full featured game but it's supposed to be selling you on the game.

In reply to Cheese, King's Bounty it was. I remember that, think I played it on my old C64. I used to be a big fan of New World Computing back then. Then they just kind of lost their way.
