Wait. People are pre-ordering games from Blockbuster for a console we don't have a release date for? And what exactly are they pre-ordering? Have there been Xbox One games announced yet? Either people are crazy or Blockbuster is flat out lying. I don't know which is more likely.

However, it does seem to support the idea that no matter how much we agree here at Blues that this thing is lining up to be horrid, it will sell millions of units.

My sister got an iPhone recently. I'm looking forward to her review after she's had some time to play with it. (I've never owned anything made by Apple)

Even if the stats represent only a portion of the market, the fact that SimCity does that well in any segment is truly disappointing.

They predict they will sell one billion units of that particular mouse!
I predict I'll celebrate Memorial Day by having sex with Kate Upton. Both of those thing have the same chance of happening.

Yeah, Bats even down here in Central Illinois it's pretty chilly -- considered turning the heat back on today, low 50s over night tonight.

Terraria is pretty cool, but after a couple weeks I reached the point where I don't know what else to do.
Did you kill the Wall of Flesh and redo the bosses?

I don't see how people even have the free time to do that sort of thing, even if you are too young to have to work at a real job, that seems mind boggling.
If you are single it's no big deal. Or one of those lucky bastards that doesn't need a lot of sleep. During my WoW power-playing days I averaged 30+ hours a week while doing a full time job.

I never did go back and do all the "new" stuff in "hardmode" you get after defeating the Wall of Flesh. Maybe this will be enough to get me to go do that...

If it wasn't for the fact I wouldn't wish it on anyone, it would be interesting to personally know someone who worked at EA to get the inside perspective on these things...

Here is how it effects Apple...

Say Apple made $100B in pre-tax profits, so with a 35% corporate tax, that would be a $35B tax bill. So, who pays it? Well, the owners. ie.. anyone holding shares of Apple. The value of the stock, the cash available for dividends, would be reduced to all share holders. Seeing as most anyone with a 401k is going to have at least some of their money in an S&P 500 fund, it hits a lot of people.

Worst part of that is every share owner is hit the same. You make $35k a year? You just took a 35% hit on the value of your Apple stock. You a billionaire? You just took at 35% hit on the value of your Apple stock. No difference.

Geodisic domes do, that's why I pointed it out yesterday. They survive hurricanes too.
You'd have to mandate all structures be that way, because the geodesic domes would not stand up to 200+ mph debris. Not to mention clearing all the trees, bushes, mailboxes, etc...

Also your argument seems to imply that the company selling you something is already giving you the best deal they *possibly* could, and the only way to compensate would be increase the cost of products sold, when we know this isn't the case.
I'm making an assumption of competitive pricing. ie.. more than one company is making the same product and they are competing, not colluding to fix prices. Possibly an over optimistic assumption, but certainly not outside the box. There are lots of reasons the cost of a 40" plasma TV is significantly less than it used to be -- but one of the contributing factors is competition between the various producers.
