What doesn't a search for "No Man's Sky" find this article?

Edit: First impression -- poor man's Star Citizen. But that's probably giving SC too much credit. A cross between E:D and Starbound maybe?

So, had I dinner tonight with a fellow gamer (and he's married to one of my sisters) -- asked him what he was playing lately -- blah blah -- then he mentioned a game he said when it came out he might have to buy a PS4 to play it. I had to have him repeat the name of the game a couple of times, "No Man's Sky" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Man's_Sky

I figured I had just overlooked it here, but if there are any articles on it, I can't find them. Is it really that un-news worthy?

Also, just in case you have never ever bought a CoD game in your entire life, Activision is making the entire collection available as a bundle, just in case you wanted to buy them all in one shot. All of the games, and all of the DLC can be yours for the low, low price of $299.99. Allthumbsup
Move the decimal point to the left one spot and I'll think about it. (I did buy, play, and enjoy CoD and CoD2).

So, you are saying a search at google.com within France should get the same results as google.fr -- but outside France, google.com could have the "forgotten" links?

I guess if you support the law, you'd want it to work that way...

Uh, it seems like it -- from the NYT piece:

*-*-*

Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, who leads the French data protection authority, has been a vocal campaigner to expand Europe’s rules beyond the 28-member bloc. The region’s privacy officials will meet in Paris next week to discuss a variety of data protection issues, including the right to be forgotten ruling and pending changes to Europe’s privacy legislation.

“For Google, the answer is worldwide,” said Ms. Falque-Pierrotin, when questioned late last year about the scope of the European privacy ruling. “If people have the right to be delisted from search results, then that should happen worldwide.”

Labels in of themselves are not bad. They are necessary. I don't greet a 5 year old and an adult in the same way. The problems arise when those labels used to discriminate "unfairly" against people.

Thanks. Assuming that article is credible, it seems likely the pornography charges are crap. It would help his case significantly if these supposed files could be at least verified as existing. If he did mail thumb drives to someone with those files.. seems to me like he needs to get those out or verified or something. Because right now all he has is a story...

So what is the supposed premise here? That one of his whistler blower buddies put the files on the server and the FBI found out some how? Or the FBI put them on there to frame him?

Don't get me wrong, I think the US government is fully capable of framing him for one reason or another -- but the story provided in the short article seems to raise more questions than anything else.

Dr. Internet is..? A rep. from your ISP?

So what was the issue? Was it something physical with the coax? Or was it some kind of software/routing/compatibility issue? Inquiring minds want to know...

Edit: Doh! You already answered:

It was a combination of a couple of bad cable connections in my house causing packet loss along with a repeater on my node that was over-amplifying (or whatever is the equivalent) the signal.

Thanks, and everybody do yourself a favor and see the movie. As far as I'm concerned this was the summer's best.
I find that difficult to believe -- I've yet to see anything that makes me think it's anything other than a bad remake.

I ran track in high school, so I've known about the mystery holes on sneakers for quite some time. Thumbsup I recently passed the knowledge on to some people at the pizza shop who kept getting blisters. It's one of those things that you think everyone knows, but it's really a secret to everyone.

man i dunno... i feel like that video opened my eyes to A Whole New Woooooorld for some reason. i've been an athlete my whole life and pretty much every running shoe i've ever owned had those extra holes and i never knew why... until now. makes me wonder what else in life i've been ignorant about. if the comments to the video are any indication, i'm not the only one that feels this way.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I did three years of HS track and never learned this. Fortunately for me I've never had issues with heel blisters, so I wasn't missing out.

But I really agree with the "what else don't I know" sentiment. I mean in something like computers, sure -- there is always something else to know, you can't know it all. But in how to tie your shoes?
