| How often are checkpoints in locations that could have monsters spawned on top of you upon entering the game? Half the time? More? Less? |

First, thanks for that explanation. Second, what a bunch of baloney that the game doesn't/can't save your log out location. |

Think highly of them? Ah, no. Actually my opinion is that 99% of all politicians are crooks -- that number is probably an exaggeration but it conveys my feelings on the subject. However, the constant drone from both the left and right -- especially in the last 5-10 years has driven me into apathy.
Specifically in the case of the loan to .38 Studios, in hindsight and on the surface it seems insane. However, what would people's opinions be if the game had done so well the company paid off the loan early? Sure maybe the likelihood of that was small -- I'm just illustrating a point. This decision was not made in a vacuum and I doubt few if any of the people throwing around opinions here know the whole story -- I certainly don't.

Good luck to the laid off workers.
As to the political nonsense, whenever I read/hear that stuff it always reminds of when they would spend 2 or 3 minutes at the end of 60 Minutes reading letters they received about a story they did in the previous show. First, they would read a letter saying how 60 Minutes was obviously slanting the story in a particular way. Next, they would read a letter saying how 60 Minutes was obviously slanting the story in the exact opposite way the first letter indicated. Absolutely hilarious.
If you are interested sounding reasonable in a political argument I suggest two things.
1) Avoid statistics as much as possible. Mark Twain was right. The instant I see any statistic in a political context my first thought is, "Ok, how is this statistic distorting the issue?"
2) Take a few moments and realize neither you or the other person are likely to really know what is going on. Oh sure, you may have some basic understanding -- but in politics there is almost always a "bigger picture" situation... |

I've been thinking the same thing. I thought I might cave and buy it, but the "issues" (real or perceived) have been enough to make me glad I am at least waiting until things calm down. |

Look on the bright side -- people have been claiming society was on a downhill slide for at least 60 years now. If the end of society hasn't come yet, it probably isn't going to happen in the next 60 years either. |
