When you are in a public place one technicly does not need your permission to take your picture with a camera. So in theory since this "lady" was stupid enough to bare it all to the camera knowing full well the consiquences I feel that she deserves the huminilation as a reward for her blatent stupidity.

Also on a side note, I am waiting to see the counter-suit filed by the defendants against her for her breech of contract. You can bet its going to be a lot of money and that she will most certainly be on the losing end of this one.

The problem is though that it gives false expectations to people who read the site and then when they try the game out they go whine at someplace like Slashdot about some promised feature that wasn't really promised.

Fuel looks to be pretty cool, I cannot wait to see it.

There are actually quite a few great games being done with the Torque engine that are worth looking into and trying out.

·Think Tanks is a simple yet enjoyable action tank game.
·Orbz is a simple yet incredibly addictive puzzle shooter.
·Marble Blast is an addictive puzzle game along the lines of Super Monkey Ball.
·Dark Horizons Lore is a massive Mecha/FPS hybrid with some great online MMO like gameplay.

Personally I hated Tribes 2, but all 4 of those games I have found to be very enjoyable and am upset at the fact that the billion crappy CS clones get more limelight than these unique products do.

People should check them out and support the Indie game movement, it's going to be the only location where you will find developers trying to push the envelop and care about their customers.

This supposide pattent trots on the feet of some major graphics companies such as SGI, Microsoft, Autodesk, Alias, Avid, nVidia and ATI to name but a few. I am certain one of those can show some prior art that will make this arguement null and void in a big hurry.

Now quickly, who can say "counter-suit"

This isn't too wierd when you remember the fact that TSR sued Gygax over D&D... I think it's poetic justic if he's able to kick WotC/TSR in the butt over the travesty that they have made the D&D franchise into.

Unfortunately their publisher went more with the industry standard of 'go with what's prooven, not what's revolutionary'. What's prooven is that FPS games are popular and can sell incredibly well. The moment you begin to rock that prooven boat by adding new 'features' you begin to create ripples in the water that can be counter productive to the success of the product.

If you want games that are more unique and revolutionary you might want to check out games from independent developers, otherwise I wouldn't hold your breathe waiting for the core industry to change it's bad habits because it simply won't ever happen.

Anyone remember this game? It missed so many deadlines and had a tonne of marketing hype and BS going for it and in the end, 'delays to make the game better' didn't result in the fans liking it any better when we finally got a chance to try it out.

Maybe the new slogan for HL2 should be 'Gabe Newell wants to make you his sub-servient little *****!'

Assuming that just because Bioware isn't digging their hands into the production 100% means that the game will suck is a retarded assumption. Go put on the 'dunce cap' and sit in the corner.

The people that work at Obsidian have done some great games in the past and I have no doubt that they will succeed here.

I personally haven't ever been a fan of any of the work that Ampled Labs has previewed or spewed out (Rise of Power, Burgerwars or Gamebeavers), but you do have to admit that these guys are trying hard to produce something that they feel will be unique, original and a lot of fun... unlike most AAA box publishers. So lets save the nasty comments until we actually get a chance to try the final product out ok?

@Nomarr

After Sierra laid off everyone at this talented company a lot of these guys tried their best to make a go at being their own developers. After a couple of years though there are only a few of them left such as Bravetree, Pipeworks, Tesseraction and Buzz Monkey.

Also you cannot forget about GarageGames and the great work that they continue to do to support indepedent games and game development, although technicly they left well before Sierra axed the prized cow that was Dynamix.

Perhaps, but they are pretty unique none the less. I definately prefer them over the atypical mech/mecha designs that you see everyone pilfering, it somehow makes the game feel more unique and less like its trying to be a clone.

Lore is a lot of fun to play and will only get better with time as enhancements and other things come out for it. Everyone should go and check it out, like Ajax said its nothing ground breaking, but its a great no-BS FPS game that you quickly pick up, play and enjoy, especially for a measly $25.
