Had age ratings been strictly enforced when I was a kid, I would have missed out on many classics like Deus Ex, System Shock, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Fallout, etc no you wouldnt have, you still would have played them just not at release.

i loved the demo of bf2142 way back when. it had no grenades which led to some intense indoor fights on the carriers.
i kinda miss those maps now. i loved launching myself into the air to land on the carriers via those vehicles.

wow a game that lets you rape? i must have missed that one.
i don't have a a problem with minors not being able to buy games like gta4, as its not a game made for minors.

You know why Painkiller was a million times better than Doom 3 and Quake 4? See above. i would say a large majority of gamers didnt even play painkiller (or even know what it is), but did play doom3 and quake4.
i would also be willing to bet most of us prefer having a story, dialog and cutscenes.
if you like doom2 so much maybe, you know, go and play it?

i saw this announcement earlier. been waiting for blue to put it up.
sometimes i feel like i'm the only person that really enjoyed doom3. i hope they bring back the marine from doom3, it'd be nice to have some sort of continuation of story for a change.
but also remember that the new ID tech can do some really cool big outdoors type enviroments now so w00t.

Lets see, TF2's look was announced how long ago? And they got a whole game to beta in how little time? Either they're the fastest devs in the world or guess what, they were right. Besides, Celshading vs Low poly isnt quite the same. erm, did you miss the bit about the fact they already had an entirely functional engine. all they did was give it a makeover.. or makeunder seeing as the graphics have less details and look worse. and there will only be TWO maps. add in the fact its very low poly, with no detail textures with require no effort.
a mod team could do that in a few months. and here we have a 'professional' team doing it in half the time. THAT is why we call BS.

They decided on the art style before TF2 had been completely revealed. i seriously pity you if you believe that.
just like ID Software/Nerve and their 'grabber' in the doom3 expansion. they think they came up with the concept before the gravity gun in Half-Life 2. heh.

is that cliffski guy a 'developer'? the way he acts i honestly thought he was one of those 14yo trolls that visit websites just to annoy people.
another person i would avoid buying games from due to their lack of respect for the people they apparently make the games for.

Niche space sims with no hype whatsoever? Not so much. I highly doubt that anyone who pirated your game would have otherwise bought it. did anyone buy any of them? i remember a cover cd offering one of them for free, and i still didnt play it.

The only losers will be the pirates because no matter how they rave, rant, protest, organize online petitions or sitdowns, gamers who want to continue playing games will have *no* choice but to put up with it. Its either that or PC gaming dies and we all move to consoles. there will always be a movement against any form of DRM. there will always be workarounds. there will always be another way.
the only thing this sort of situation does is make me want to become part of the solution and see what i can do to help those that will and do find workarounds.
also your 'predicitons' are a joke. they are about as insightful as someone predicting rockstar are considering another GTA game.

Catch me on our forums if you have more feedback. i imagine your probably annoyed with EA yourself because you have been answering the same damn questions for the past 4 days heh heh
