Jerykk is literally the only person in this thread with any idea about how things work. he seems to be the only person who lives the 'gray' area of life where the rest of us live.

its amusing watching the rest of you with your 'good' and 'evil' arguments. you are precisely the reason DRM exists. you have no concept of actual reality. just the painted picture you have in your head.

Once games from Valve and Blizzard (plus The Sims) require DX10 and Vista, you can consider it truly relevant to PC gaming.

HAHAHA!

because valve, blizzard and .. EA are the be all and end all of pc gaming?

you really must be looking at it from a business POV because you have no idea about gaming on any level.

One thing is sure though, people who like the game and can afford the game and run the game, who go out and torrent it ARE a lost sale and ARE helping to kill off PC gaming entirely.
Nice work guys.

ah, and let's talk about how you personally are making great strides in saving pc games and the sales thereof.

what's that? your not? then shut the fuck up.

If you want to make a single player experience the console is the superior place to market it.

yeah, because you can't pirate on a console, amirite?

fuck off with your pro console bullshit.

have a good friend who is a heavy WoW user. He has 10 level 70 characters (one of each class, two druids; one feral, one restro.). He has run Black Temple with about half of them, and all them in at least SSC. He gave Warhammer a try. What follows is his evaluation, which I found interesting:

err.. why did you find that interesting? a WoW fanboy (one who clearly needs a break) has trouble accepting another game. i cannot express the shock in words. this is just.. new and interesting.

If I didn't know better I'd say that developers are TRYING to force PC Gamers to consoles.

that's been my theory for a while now.

this was on the website in the link:

"I was quite surprised the FAQ told me that the customer buys a license, not a product, and that "Sacred2 allows" ("Sacred2 genehmigt" in German) him to play the game. While it's a relieve a paying customer is indeed allowed to play Sacred 2, it will be quite interesting to observe whether somebody will take the publisher to court to clarify the situation. Of course I'm not a lawyer, but as I understand it in Germany a game typically sold at retail is a product. The customer does not need anybody's permission to use a product he purchased. And especially can he transfer his property to a 3rd party."

can such a system even work? when you buy a product, its yours. is it not?

Why do so many players not practice religion?

maybe because religion cults are NOT healthy? being free of mind and wallet is a BAD thing?? only in america.

it just needs an ad-blocker and im happy to switch too it.
very lean, interface is nice.

i think calling it revolutionary is a bit dramatic. but some like their drama i suppose.

it actually brought some innovations/improvements which WoW has later on copied

i highly doubt that. care to elaborate?

50% isn't exactly a reliable number. Much better to have a source that I trust 100% of the time, such as myself. Given the ability to judge games for myself, what logical reason would I have to bother with any other source?

that.

All I hear from you about piracy is that you should be able to try products before you buy them, which is bullshit. Demos exist to test games - you can argue that they may not represent the game accurately but then neither does a 200 mile test drive in a new car and no car manufacturer is going to offer you a 20,000 mile demonstration.

yes, but ALL car dealers will let you test drive cars. not all games come with demos. very very few come with demos these days.

what if the car dealer said 'oh no, you cant test drive it. you cant even sit in it. just look at it and decide from that'.

how fucking stupid are you?

So frankly, you should care. PC gaming IS NOT PROFITABLE.

Valve and Blizzard would beg to differ.

you might want to actually think before you type.

The idea of cover being an important part of gameplay was innovating

kill.switch did it first. therefore, it was a rip-off.

then you can spare $50 each month on a game, regardless of it's quality.

err.. did you just say that? even if its crap, we should just buy it? what?

also, in australia our games cost twice what they cost in most places. usually $100.

also i dont think anyone here is defending piracy. stop being so bloody thick headed. they are simply being realistic and holding an open discussion about it.

Tough shit if you don't like it, not everything is sure in life.

notice how your sentence can also be applied to developers and people pirating their games?

seriously, stay the fuck out of this discussion if you cant handle the concept of a story having two sides.

at the moment im kind of 'not sure if want' about far cry 2.

but yes, im sure it has everything to do with the setting and nothing to do with the masses of content and assets they already have and wont need to make again.

I guess I'm in the minority around here. I actually love the game. It's so refreshing to get away from a game like WoW and play a game like AoC, with far more lore & realism. The game play mechanics are top notch & the graphics are the best out there for an MMO. It does have some problems like all MMO's though. Overall it's a great game & well worth your $$.

yet, in a previous post you have made in your history, you have said you have never even played WoW.

I'm not really talking about the content in fact I dont even play WoW.

so how can you possibly judge it against AoC? i also got a laugh when i noticed you have also said this in the past..

Although i was not impressed at all with the graphics. But that's how a lot of these MMO's are, Second Life has crappy graphics, WoW's graphics are nothing to write home about. I want an open world MMO like second life, or Vegas with graphics as good as Crysis or Age of Conan.

gee, i wonder where you work?

erm.. didnt they kind of butcher the pc port of halo and then blame the fans? halo is a dumbed down, simple fps for consoles and they couldn't even get that right?
