Shame too, they used to put out decent games.
Well, this is a decent game. An exceptional one actually. It's sad that many are passing on it as a result of the DRM, not that I fault them for passing on it. I bought it and enjoyed the hell out of it, I'm just not a strong willed gamer's rights activist like the rest of you. I also support nuclear power and think police officers should be respected.

Police and Nuclear power we need in our lives, DRM, we do not need!!

There are simply too many games to bother with anything that hassles paying customers.

I agree, this game was recently on sale too and I was tempted but then came back to my senses and passed on it. I will not buy a game that forces you online all the time and has limited installs. Especially when itís a steam game. No thank you!!

I have to say that trailer was pretty bad. I would even go as far to say it might even chase a few buyers away.

I can't remember where I read it, but I'm pretty sure the cinematic stuff was outsourced to Klei Entertainment (the studio behind Shank, Eets and a few other games).

Maybe they will toss this anime out the fricking door andstart over. I thought I was watching a cut from Samuria Jack. Pretty bad!!

Well, this is fucking ridiculous. Not only can I not even get it installed - like a lot of other people - but I can't even post in their tech support forums. Yeah, that's real smart. Keep people from accessing the forums when they need feedback. And this thing is supposed to launch in 3 weeks? LOL.

It installed fine for me, can't log in obviously and doubt anyone will be able to for hours. But yeah, good luck Blizzard. lol
Getting "Error 3005" when I try to login to the game. And apparently their website is fucked now too. Fun stuff.

If youíre seeing that error code then the servers are down. This is not something new to the beta. They take them off line at times. Either for maint or other reasons. But that is a server off line code.

And donít be a bit surprised if youíre not able to login or have difficulty. I suspect that blizz is taking this opportunity to gage the server load to see how they are going to balance this out.

Sorry man, I don't think they offer that option anymore since the client is an integrated patcher. At least I don't see it on any official Blizzard source
Oh well, thanks. I hope I can try D3 beta this weekend. Bad timing! Question: How big is the download and installation?

Its a few gigs in size, it wonít take you long at all as long as your connection is decent.

My thoughts about the beta are, I have to say that I have really enjoyed it over the past few months. The changes that have occurred in the past month or two have been good. I really like how they have changed some of the abilities for the characters now. The Monk is an absolute ass kicker. That will be the char I play.

I also really like the new Button they added for moving now. You can at least map one key to move your character with. My thoughts are if they went this far with adding a move button, why not add the full blown WASD while they are at it.

Anyway, itís a pretty good game.

I played and beat Syndicate. Sure, the original is better, but this game had a bit of a charm to it. It was like when I first played Daikatana. Sure everyone said it was a bad game, but it had that sort of charm that only a shitty game can provide that kept me playing. It's similar to that charm where you see an accident on the side of the road and can't help but watch.

Did they ever fix the over blown lighting? I stopped playing it. The lighting was killing my eyes.

As for Prey 2, trust me, the second one is nothing like the first. Youíre more of a bounty hunter now with a past. Youíre the human guy that was abducted off the plane and somehow you are now working for an alien faction tracking down criminals. Saw this game at E3 and it was pretty damn kewl. Not just the video they showed off. Plus I know the Head guys really well. I know they wonít let this game fail.

I bought DS2 when it was a $5 Steam sale. I must really suck or something because I kept dying at the friggin very beginning of the game. I think I reloaded 3-4 times before I just said 'wtf' and played something else. I'm sure I could have figured it out but why make the first experience in a game that frustrating?

Yep, you suck! The key to that opening sequence is to keep on running, donít stop. Donít look around. Just run your ass off.

Also, it seems that this is becoming more and more an issue with retailers spilling the beans. Wonder what the repercussions are for something like this?

Can't wait to replay this game now and side with the elves. Adding all this content, plus the massive differences based on that decision, will make it feel almost like a third Witcher game.

I've been removed from modern gaming for almost 6 months due to an overseas job and it's funny that when I get home one of the first things I play will be a game I already finished.

Man this really sucks, my original play through I sided with the elves and was going to go through this again siding with the humans. So this bites, if you donít side with the elves you canít get to the extra area under the city. At least I donít know for sure if you can still go there if you do. Does anyone know thats played that side? I just want to be sure for before I go starting again.

They were also working on a sequel at one time, although all work on it stopped about three years ago.

Hope so, I really liked the original game, but it was so bug ridden and unfinished that it made it impossible to finish the game. Iím willing to give these guys a chance. They are not the original makes of the game and must have been Hugh fans of the game to take the time to clean it up and make it better. But, only time will tell if this is done right. And I thought I read a year or so ago, that they were actually making a new follow up game. This seems to be someone else revamping the game.

I checked my account last night, there was no AI that I could see that you can choose. so unless this patch came out today. it was not there yesterday.

Granted, but I have never had a save disapear on me. And Microsoft GFWL is not the only company that uses the AppData folder to save files in and the save games.

Lot's of people use GFWL with no issues, I get that.

Then GFWL eats one of their save files. Those people then join us on the light side.

One of us! One of us! One of us!

The problem is most people donít understand how GFWL uses the AppData Directory to store their files. Many people will rebuild and blow away their hard drive not realizing that in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLiveLive directory your saves and setting are stored there. This is what needs to be backed up If you back this folder up in the AppData and the one in the Roaming you WILL NOT lose your saves.

I love how you guys all pile on and complain about GFWL and donít know a damn thing about it or how it functions nor do many of you know where your files are being saved. I personally have never had issues with GFWL, yes itís not a clean as Steam but it does work.

And good luck with your petition, contracts have been signed and deals made. It wont happen.

They just don't get it. The problem was that it wasn't a game that PC gamers wanted to play. Those people think that the content of a game has no link with sales.

If people didn't want to play it then it wouldn't have been pirated like crazy.

You can say people didn't want to pay for it, but undoubtedly if piracy was not an option then sales would have been better. While we can debate all day what portion of pirates would otherwise buy a game (low), I don't think anyone would argue none would.
If a game is pirated a million times I think it's safe to say that's 100,000 lost sales. Bulletstorm was pirated more than a million times.

The issue is a lot more complex than that. Personally, I didn't pirate it, but if the game was 15$, I probably would have bought it.

Then you missed out, it was on sale during Christmas, I belive i picked it up for 5 dollars.

Here we go again. I think the marketing and ill received demo had a lot more to do with the game under performing. I notice he doesn't mention that the game performed well under expectations on the consoles too.

I would also mention that Cliffy bitch boy probably had a lot to do with the mentioning the piracy part. Just like he screwed the pc community over with Gears 2 and 3. I bought this game when it was on sale. I enjoyed it, it was fun but it was nowhere great. Plus the fact that they removed Coop that it was supposed to have might have something to do with pissing people off. And Steam on their site is still showing that this game has coop, Go figure!!

When the game came out I joined a heavy population PvP server. Now it's light at almost all times, and at level 47 I have only seen ONE enemy faction member. PvP server? Seriously?! They did so many things wrong with this game.

I recently reactivated my account because a friend of mine wanted to play as a team. The servers are so under populated now. I go into zones and there is no one on. Which is why he asked me to play so we could do heroics together as a team. Thatís the real fun of it, is running around with someone else and playing. But the server is pretty light. This is why Bioware is offering friend accounts; they are desperately trying to get new subs.

Textures? You mean sprites and pre-rendered maps! Sure, they are textures, but i would bet actual money that this "enhancement" does not include recreating all the art assets.

Though that is exactly what would be needed to actually have the game not become super-pint sized at 1920x1200 ..

Also who the heck uses 1920x1080p on PC ?

Are you even up with the current tech of monitors these days?

1920x1080 is the new standard. It used to be 1920x1200 but that is gone.

My new LED monitor from Samsun is a 27 inch monitor and its highest rez is 1920x1080. Go to new egg and look at all the 27 inch monitors that is the only rez you will find on their site. They donít even make 28 inch monitors any more. Itís hard to find them.

HannsG or Hanns Spee is about the only ones making them and they are cheap chinese crap.

  • New graphical enhancements

  • Yep I would buy it, if it had those features. I dont think that is asking to much from a "Enhanced Edition".
    Corrected.

Their comments about their not being any comments that a PC version of the game is even in the works bothers me. The PC is the ONLY platform that matters and if these guys fuck this up good luck trying to get anyone to trust them again with anything they touch. And greed with the listed enhanced features listed by Techie.

Fan of 40k here. The problem with the 40k setting, if you're unfamiliar with it, is that the scale is enormous. The Imperium of Man controls over ONE MILLION PLANETS.

No game where you're a single guy will ever do it justice. Even the RTS games, while fun, feel comically small-scale compared to the setting.

MMO or not, this game will not capture the setting. At best it will be a decent game with a vaguely 40k related skin.

That is why you tell it in small stories and you do not try to fi the entire universe into one game. I thought Space Marine was a decent game. It centered on the Machine Planet, and the Orcs trying to steal weapons there. That is how you do single player games. As for the MMO that is now a SP game, Iím fine with that and it having MP as long as itís Coop MP.
