Developers and publisher, they are all ass clowns. They are trying to stop something that is like putting your finger in the many holes of a leaking damn. Good luck with trying to plug all those holes. It’s Never going to happen.

The rolling entrance makes sense to me.

Don't get me wrong. I agree about the rolling early access. I have no problem with that... it's a good way to prevent a million people in the newbie zones at once and causing the server to catch fire and explode.

It's just the way they're handling it. Tell me when I can play. That's all I want to know. But they won't... they're sending out invite e-mails in "waves" that is supposed to be based on the date you entered your pre-order code. The first "wave" went out a little late and then they sent the second "wave" at around 9:30am EST. And they just sent the third "wave".

No, they're not telling you when the "waves" are going out. You just have to wait and hope you're getting access.

They could alleviate a lot of frustration and QQ if they just said "Look at the chart. Match it with the date range you submitted your pre-order code. That's when you'll get early access." Period. Done.

Are you seriously going to stand by that comment? I guess you must have been absent the day pre orders went live. It was all based on when you bought your pre order and when you put that pre order code in to the system.

I bought mine as soon as it came available with in the first 30 mins. I knew If I had my code in that early that I would get an invite in the first wave. There was no secret on how this was going to play out and for anyone to sit here and complain about it is ridiculous.

Agreed that this is a poor way to roll out this early access.

They could have sent out these emails a week ago, so people could plan ahead. To send the emails on the same day access begins is rather short-sighted.

Sorry, but you all must be lacking. I got my email last week telling me to go and download the client and pre load the game. So if you did not get on then most likely you were not on the early hit list. I did get my email early this Moring telling me that I was now able to go and play. But Emails did go out last week for pre loads.

3. There will be ALWAYS a working crack. Always.

Afaik, there is no "working crack" for this game and I thought there was a handful of other games that were never cracked. Weren't there issues with cracking Silent Hunter 5?

Most of the time when a game goes uncracked its due to lack of interest from both consumers and the "scene". Also these days many games are cracked by non-scene members and uploaded through Usenet/P2P, so they don't get the same exposure. I have no idea about this particular game though.

The only way to make a truly uncrackable game would be to basically build a streaming client/server model like OnLive. Even then in theory it's technically possible that someone could reverse engineer it although that's unlikely given the amount of time and expertise required. We do live in the age of crowdsourcing though so nothing is impossible, I remember the Chinese and Russian cracking groups working on the UbiDRM with thousands of people submitting the database entries/checks. It was really impressive in a disturbing sort of way.

As for this particular game there is no crack right now but that isn't saying much considering its still quite new. Some take hours, some take months.

There are cracks out for this game, just not good ones at the moment. As for the interest in this game its very small. Plus this time of year is bad for games getting cracked because most people are on holiday or preparing for finals. So the crackers are essentially busy with other more important things. But don’t kid yourself it will get cracked. They always do.

I dont even think this game sold very well.

Do you remember the AI in the Thief series? Now that AI would search you out if they heard something or found a body. Programmers these days are getting lazy about how they write their code.

You can't compare, for at least a couple of reasons:

1- In Thief, you can only be a thief. In Skyrim you can be anything, including a mage dabbling in a bit of hiding. Making stealth be so challenging will stop anyone from dabbling in stealth. It'll be an either/or situation and you'll have to fully commit to stealth to make it worthwhile.

2- You ain't got much space to hide in in dungeons. In Thief the environments were highly, highly customized to stealth-based gaming. You just can't do that systematically with such a huge game as Skyrim.

I agree with what you are saying, but I think the point we were making here is that the AI gives up way to easily. There should be a bit more effort on their part then just looking for 5 seconds then giving up in their search. And let’s be honest now, if you have the perk for stealth then it should work as advertised. If you are just squatted down and make a lot of noise or get to close and are spotted and are of a low level. Then I have no pity on you when the AI pummels you into next week.

Off Topic - Jerykk or anyone else, what do you think of the a.i. in Batman?

It's definitely better than the AI in Skyrim.

It's okay, I guess. It does what it needs to do. If you attack someone without using stealth, they'll call out for help and any nearby enemies will rush to aid him. During combat, they'll pickup weapons and throw stuff at you. If you're in a stealth segment, enemies will tend to stick together after finding a body. This is better than Skyrim, where enemies will search a 5 foot radius for about 5 seconds, then give up and say "I guess I was just imagining things" even though they're standing right next to the corpse of their buddy.

2. The UI seems to be even more FUBAR now than before, it randomly drops me back ingame and this is especially frequent when talking to people now. (fuck consoles, fuck em hard)

Oh, I love this part of the update. Having remapped my controls before the patch, several non-3D commands have changed keys (lockpicking, inventory, etc.), but the key mappings shown on screen are still wrong.

So everything's still wrong, but it's wrong in a different way to before, so it's made me have to find the right keys all over again.

Apart from that I'm pretty happy with the update. I'm still an early mage, and I get killed by just about everything unless I have a meat shield, so I wouldn't understand the resistance issues everyone's been talking about.

Did you all not believe me when I started this post with don’t do it, it will make it worse? I guess you all are glutens for punishment. I tried to tell you guys this patch was bad.

Personally, I’m not touching this patch. I have not had any issues at all with my game running or mouse issues. I have installed a bunch of mods that have made my game even better. I’m just not going to screw it up with patches that I know are going to break it.

Most likely he did it for these kinds of complete overreactions, in other words, he did it for the lulz.

I like how some of you are trying to justify this. I suppose you also justify bulling at School too? No matter how you slice it, that person has issues. I have to wonder if some of you are parents, and if you are I then begin to wonder what kind of morals you have and what are you really teaching your child if you think this kind of perverted non sense is ok to do. It may be a game but in some ones dark little mind; they are playing out a fantasy that they probably thought about doing in real life. No one should ever condone this type of behavior.

Some of you might find this funny and joke about it, but I don’t see anything funny about decapitating people and storing heads on a shelf like it’s a display case. This person is seriously demented.

You sound like a US politician talking about how violence in videogames influences youth. I'd rather someone acted out their fantasies inside the safe confines of a videogame or as in this case he's obviously shooting for the shock reaction from people like you, even going to the point of staging it all for Youtube.

Why not?

Because that doesn't sound fun or entertaining to me? Unlike the person who did this?

Ghost Recon online is the biggest piece of shit I have ever had the displeasure of playing. It looked bad, played badly; it just made me want to puke. UBI, they never cease to amaze me at their stupidity. This is why I do not ever buy any of their games. I hope this company fails and goes out of business soon. I’m getting tired of reading their garbage and their continuous complaints about how piracy is killing their sales when in reality it’s their own stupid decisions that doing it for them.

Anybody have Renegade Ops? Have they fixed the crazy controls yet? For people who obscenely want to play with a mouse and keyboard on the PC, of course, if you are using a gamepad, no comments please.

Also, is it just me, or does Orcs Must Die feel pretty weak after playing some Dungeon Defenders? I think if I had not been playing Dungeon Defenders I would have already bought OMD, but now...

Yes, there is an option you have to turn on that’s called Tank mode or something like that. It enables the keyboard to be used normally. The game play is so much more fun with this mode turned on and 10 times easier to control.

My response to this is, OK Croteam, you’re now allowed to convert this for the console. This is how all ports should be when making games on all platforms. Make it for the PC then dumb it down to fit the Console.

Game has been surprisingly stable for me given that it's a Bethesda game though performance sometimes tanks when they go too nuts with the indoor candle/torch effects.

Same here, I have not had any issues at all with the game, slowdowns or crashes. The Game has been very stable for me and plays great with all the maxed out settings and the INI fixes added.
