I really tried to like this game a lot. Love how it is and all but the Magic system is just obnoxious to try and learn and remember when in a sticky combat situation. Too damn many combos to try and recall. You end up only using a few that you like or remember.

Are you high? There are several stretch goal in between the current funding level and the Chris Avellone stretch goal so they aren't spending even remotely near 700k on hiring Chris Avellone + a lot of the money is being spent on other things like art, animation, code, etc to go with his writing/design work.

So even the 150k between the prior stretch goal and the Chris Avellone stretch goal isn't Chris's fee. 150k USD more in pledges implies more Amazon and kickstarter fees and more used on rewards. So the budget of the game won't be increased by that full amount.

Excuse me for not believing you, but you sound like an advocate supporter or work for them. My feelings on Kick starters are there are no checks and balances on how they are using the money.

Just because someone puts up a KS page and says I need 1 Million to make this happen, does not mean that they are using all of that money to fund the project. Itís idiotic to even assume that they are using all of the money as they say they are.

Are you sure you are not one of their stretch goals?

I donít see this being true, I donít know how anyone could possibly spend 200 Million on developing and advertising a game. You would be pretty much out of your mind to do that. I look at games and wonder how anyone could possibly spend 10 or 20 million on developing a game. Most likely this is just a rumor.

Most of them wont, they are too busy blaming piracy rather than trying to understand why it happens. As this guy stated, how do you determine what would be a sale verses those who pirated a game. I have always believed that.

Most of the games pirated are by people who had no intention of ever buying a game. And yes there are some who would buy if it was not easy to pirate it. But the publishers are to busy blaming pirates for their own failures on making a game thatís worth buying. How many times have many of us been burnt by a bad game? I canít even count how many times over the past 15 years.

I love how they support mods, but not hacks. Since when is a mod not a hack to the game? Anytime you use a mod, itís a way of changing how the game works. That is a hack no matter how you try to paint it.

Blizzard has lost its creativity; they are now a company that is all about long development cycles and pretty CGI. Short on story and overpriced.

When was the last time blizzard came up with a new game? A completely different IP that has nothing to do with their Three Prime Evils? Thatís right, nothing!

The keep force feeding the masses with updated games that are nothing more than an over lay of new graphics over an old concept.

I always thought the same thing about the NBA. I want my team to play methodical defense and push the shot clock to the limit, so I think they should ban fast breaks and teams that like to run.

edit: I'm just messing with you, but it does sound like competitive RTS isn't really your thing. Most RTS games have some sort of early game rush - in fact I can't think of a single one that didn't.

This is the main problem I have with this game. Blizzard purposely designed this game so matches only last 20 mins. They purposely give you limited resources and force you to expand. They also made defense practically useless. Most of the time when being rushed, your defense fall faster than units. Most defenses felt like they were made of paper. They get ripped through so fast.

This is what turned me off about SC and why I will never go back to it.

Blizzards track record recently is 0 - 2

Hunh, this is already a ship you spend some time on in the main game. It's a plot point before you go down to the planet, weird why you'd be going back to that. I'm confused.

Because they saw an opportunity to rehash levels. Easier to re use assets then to make new ones. But, yes kind of dumb seeing how you really donít have a ship since you crashed the one that got you on the planet to begin with.

Yep, thatís why they are changing the loot all over again. To force players to go out and re farm the shit out of the game again.. The note about town portaling was funny to me, the reason people go back to town so much is because the fucking games inventory is so small. How about they make that shit bigger?

After watching that video for Wasteland, I have no doubt they are going to use that same engine for this game. Iím going to call it now, this game will not come close to being what the original was and is.

Creston, you do realize that this is a vicious circle right? Gov. cuts jobs; Gov. does not make Tax money because people are not working. When people are not working, thereís no tax money to hire people to work. This is a no win situation anyway you look at it.

This is the crap that really pisses me off to no end in this country when it comes to corporate America and their obsession with outsourcing jobs to other countries. If no oneís working, there no Tax money being generated because people are not buying anything. totally ass stupid that the Gov. does not crack down on Corporations and bring the work back home.

Yep, Right now, Iím on the beta for NWO and I absolutely love the game and how it plays and feels. Cryptic is actually going to a lot of effort to make this look and play great.

Even though this game is being painted a DnD game, it does look and feel Dnd, but combat wise and skills are not DnD. I know the devs addressed this and are looking to see what they can do to fix some of these things, but overall making a game based off DnD will never be right. Which is why the newer 4.0 rules were more geared towards a real time computer type game.

Still, so far Iím enjoying the game and this is where I will be spending a lot of my times once itís fully released. And they are not nickel and diming the players to death with micro transactions. You buy it if you want it, and are not forced into anything that you absolutely have to have to complete the game.

I have the game, stopped playing it because of all the crappy choices they were making and destroying crafting because too many people whining about one skill making money over others.

When the game went free to play, I figured I would try it again since a friend of mine was bugging me to play with him. That lasted about two days. When they strip you of primary fundamentals in the game and are trying to force people to pay to get those assets back was when I said fuck you to EA and never went back.

The thing Iím talking about was my money, and skill bars. Two bars is all they give you to fit all of your skills on to and thatís not even enough. My money, they gave me only 250K of my 10 Million credits and put the rest in Escrow.

You canít even touch it unless you pay to play the game, then they unlock it. fuck that shit, these are things that should be there by default and not taken away from the player. This is why EA fails at most things they do and why SWTOR is a failed MMO.
