Ubi is either very bold and confident or just plain stupid to release this game on the same day as Inquisition.

I just don't understand this attitude by publishers to try and compete with each others releases when both can share the profits by staggering their releases. Very puzzling!

I cant however say the same thing about you and many other here. you guys, have something to say about everything.

You didn't quote Elf, you quoted Wetworks and Redmask. I agree that Elfs response is negative but you didn't quote him so I assumed your reply was directed at them.

Nah people comment on what they're interested in, sometimes its positive and sometimes it isn't. I only clicked on this thread for example because its Halloween and I was thinking of picking this game up. I like reading peoples impressions on videogames, good and bad.

After all of the negativity on this game, it became a bargain bin game for me. Im content on waiting. I just have far to many other games right now to worry about. and Inquisition is coming out soon. my best friend worked on this game, so hes told me a lot about it. Plus I just love open world explore games so this one and Witcher 3 are high on my list.

I seriously don't think EA or should I say Bioware is going to mess this one up. its far to important to them and I think they learned a lot from their mistakes on DA2.

Plus my friend told me they went to great lengths to make this game right.

My reply was towards Elfs and Wetworks comments. Go and read what he said. I know what the others asked, Elfs response was nothing but negative and still pointing out those shortfalls in the game that just got patched.

Did you not pick up on that part or what?

I quoted wetworks comments and was referring to his comments and partly towards Elf. But you only quoted out a small piece of my original comment about reading the patch notes. Thats a pretty important part when you want to quote someone as being negative don't you think?

I doubt you read it, if you did you would understand those people weren't bashing the game. Having a complaint about a single aspect (one that your post doesnt even fully address) is not "bashing". You live in this weird universe where if anyone says anything remotely perceived as negative about a game you play or like that they're "bashing" or "hating" it. Those people like the game, the other guy was the one bashing it. You can like a game and still not be happy with some aspects of it.

As usual Verno, you tend to try and make someone out as the bad guy. I don't even own this game nor do I care to, my comments were directed at those who were sitting here pissing and moaning about the games features. features the patch added. so if they had fucking read to god damn patch notes they would not have had to comment about features that were missing from the god damn game.

But as usual, these post ended up dragged down into the mud. They could have commented about hey, great they fixed the game, but instead it turned into a pissing contest.

But hey, its blues right, the place for all the pissers and moaners.

Ironic because you didn't even read such a short thread so theres no need to be so unpleasant. They're the two people in this thread who are praising the game. Seemed like they were just listing a few minor complaints which is pretty reasonable. Maybe they just didn't have a chance to read the patch notes yet *gasp*.

No excuse Verno, And yes I did read it. like I said, all they had to do before spouting off is read what the patch first before bashing the game. This is after all a thread about the patch and not the game itself.

We all know about the short falls of the game when it was released.

My biggest complaint with the game is the ridiculous letterboxing implementation more than anything else.

Use flawless widescreen fix asap,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FecuCLqn8w

It changes the fov and removes the letterboxing. I didn't realize how great this game can look until I did that.

Do you guys even read? or do you all just like bitching to bitch?

The Patch notes clearly state they unlocked all of these with an in game option now in the features.

So, you can but away your bitching for now and patch the game its now fixed.

I've had Origin for over a year now and I have had no issues at all with it. I prefer Steam, but there's nothing wrong with Origin.

Verno, did you play this game with a keyboard or a game pad?

I tried to get into this game, but just cant get past the crappy slow controls. So, that has kind of killed this game for me.

K-Lite Codec Pack, works for everything and you don't need other video players to watch your videos with. That's Including XVid.

Works like a charm, watch all of your videos with Windows Media player with that Codec Pack.

Was this on console first? Was it really that bad?

It has a few defenders like anything else on the internet but yes it was that bad. This started out as a Kinect game but when it became clear that doing anything with Kinect is fucking awful they decided to keep going instead of just wisely scrapping the whole project. The good part is the graphics, its a very pretty game. The bad part is pretty much everything else. The combat seems visceral to start but becomes repetitive and shallow quickly. The story is not even worth mentioning.

I suspect people will feel more favorable about it if they go into it with very low expectations and pay less than $15. I only put a few hours into it at a friends place but that was enough to say "ok lets not play this ever again and wheres Forza?".

Man you just described Shadow of Mordor. The story part is better though, but the combat is very repetetive even though the missions are quite varied. I had to force myself to play it yesterday and in the end it did grow on me a little bit, so its not a total loss. I just wish it took a little bit more skill to pull of those nice fatalites and whatnot, instead of just LMB button mashing (and the ocasional RMB) and pressing "F" when your sword lights up...

About Mordors combat, it wouldn't be so bad if they fricking didn't re-spawn the hell out of everything in the game. Seriously, cleared out an area by a camp fire walked away came back and the same bastards were re-spawned. this is what is making the game a boring slug-fest of repetition.

I cant speak for RYSE, it looks OK at best. so im waiting until Christmas Sales, maybe it will be 5 bucks by then.

I got about 45% through the first one. I do love dungeon crawlers, but I've always disdained copious puzzles. I like fighting, getting loot, figuring out battles, not pulling 10 chains in various sequences to get a door to open, or stepping on 15 teleporters for an hour. I know, I know, Eye of the Beholder, et. al. had them, and I hated them back then too.

That goes for me as well. Never finished it for the same reason.

I fit into this category too. I really despised the puzzles on some of the levels. this was a good game, but the timing on the puzzles were way to quick to try and complete. Way to much move left, now right. now pull lever A and run to lever B.

They really went over board on some of this crap.

I don't know if some of you got to the lower levels where one of the puzzles you had to do it is such a way and timing to get a special sword locked away. what a fricking nightmare it was to try and maneuver around the pillars pulling levers and avoiding dropping through the floor.

It was at that point when I gave up on this game.

Its a good game and all, but far to much of that going on.
One other thing I really got tired of seeing to was killing monsters and them blowing up into sparks. they really need to get more creative then that. Felt like Doom 3 and killing demons and then dissolving away. Boring.

Did you order it on PC or PS4? I want to know your impressions of it regardless, I was just curious. I have been leaning towards PS4 (not buying it for a couple of months) just because it seems to be a game built around playing on a controller and also because I don't think there will be much of a modding scene for it.

I grabbed it on ps4, as that seemed to be what all the streams were, as well as the reviews.

Surprised nin, I never pegged you for a console junkie. Why did you not get this for the pc when its going to be the better platform?

The video truly puts every single video out there to shame, with their limiting controller gameplay. This looks so good!

That video does look good, but during combat, why the fricking hell does the camera need to be at a side angle and not over the shoulder? That's just fucking lame and disappointing.

Cant wait to play this one, glad to see the reviews are panning out.

I wouldn't sweat the requirements too much, they're often inaccurate. I've seen minimums that are absurd and high end specs that the game didn't warrant at all.

I hope your right. I guess Ill find out on Tuesday, if those textures are available.
