How about removing GFWL from Op Flashpoint Red River?

Just a wild guess, but I'm thinking Op Flashpoint is a dead IP while Dirt series isn't and I believe they already have Dirt 4 on the way. If Dirt 3 MP wasn't updated that would piss off many people that may skip the next game.

Who cares about Operation Flashpoint Red River anyhow. It was everything casual players wanted from Flashpoint. Quake style movement, sepier coloured graphics and a hand holding campaign - with none of the things that made the original title truly standout (modding capabilities, built in easy mission editor, endless mission design options). Which is why the Codemasters retake died a much deserved death. While ArmA lives on successfully, with all those features including the nutty stuff we all hate - clunky movement, unoptimised engine and uninspired campaign.

how about pulling your head out of your ass? Apparently I care about it and so do many others. your not the only person on the planet you know!

And besides, the game was pretty kewl with 4 players Coop. other then the shithead SGT who is over the top the game wasn't that bad.

More like abandoned. This is what happens when to many people bitch about the game. The Devs just gave up on it. Codmasters being the bigger culprit.

200+... I realize that's a selling point for a lot of people... But holy crap, even one quarter of that is too much for me... Unless the combat (where you spend most of the game) is amazing, anything over 20 hours starts to bore me... Add that to my inability to stick to one game at a time, I have a ton of half completed games...

My twin.

Typical console games are never over 20 hours. Just sayin'. I can't imagine 200+ is anything to complain about. If you know you get bored quickly or whatever --> do the main questline only.

You would be very surprised at just how fast 200 hours can pass by. If a game is really good and inciting. The time flies by quickly.

Two words for EA. Fuck you!!

This is a DRM that is not needed when you have Origin in place. Fucking morons at work here. And EA wonders why its know as the worst company on the planet. Get a clue EA, you idiots!

This seems bizarre, why would they bother with any DRM when its all hooked into Origin and BL?

So that nobody pirates their precious SP campaign?

Exactly, but that wont stop them form pirating it. The stupidity never ceases to amaze me when it comes to Publishers and their idiotic decision making.

for sure, Console users should stick to playing on a console. I really despise these kinds of comments.

Lets hope this guy was over stating the facts.

Glad I didn't pay for the game, got it free with my Video Card.

This game looks pretty good, although I wish they had gone more traditional BG style, with 6 character parties, instead of 4 person DA:O style.

Isometric sprite or full 3d doesn't matter to me as long as the single player campaign is enjoyable, honestly. Ex DA:O developers, not really surprising they chose this kind of engine.

I'll probably hold back on buying this until some reviews on the main campaign come out.

*EDIT* clarification/grammar.

It was done with four because of Coop. but as you saw in the video you can gather companions along the way. Not sure though how long they will stay with you.

But hey, its close enough to NWN and Baldars Gate feel.

Are we going to be able to run the main campaign coop? Or will that be for only user generated content or DM run content?

Yes, its already been confirmed by the devs in a pod cast that the entire campaign is playable with 4 players Coop.

Nice, so if faster that will be a better way to play vs 1 controlling 4. So far nothing not to like about this one.

I edited my post with the link to the podcast about Coop. check it out.

Like I said on their forums yesterday, I think people would much rather see the editor and GM tools in action before co-op play. If it's easier to use like the Foundy - over the NWN toolset - it'll make for some real longevity with this game.

That is coming in the next video. They are going to pick up where they left off with the DM running the show with players.

As for the tools, they are not yet releasing anything on those yet. that one of the hotter topics on their forums.

They are keeping those under wraps fro a bit longer, but Dan did say that info is coming soon. I'm betting after or during E3 we will know everything about the game and the tools.

Go to their forums and post your comments and concerns, Dan and the team read those comments daily.

5E is pretty good, id say the best since 2nd edition - but its still far from perfect

in particular the parity between classes is a bit much.. if you have a group of min/maxer players, all the classes start to act the same in terms of balance.. way too symetrical

The devs did say that you can either use their party members that you meet, or create your own. So I think the party banter will be much less when using your own created members.

I personally love all that banter. it gives your game more character and makes it interesting to hear them go on about stuff. Especially if there are member that don't like each other. That's the fun stuff to listen too.

I watched this live yesterday, so I sent Blues the info on it. I have to say I'm really excited about this game. The party banter is very well done. so are the voice over's. I love these types of game that are like NWN. Plus the tool set is what we are really wanting more info on to see what all you get and how much you can do with the tools.

Since we made the Eye of the Beholder series for NWN we are looking to make a new campaign. we have something in mind already, but not saying yet until we see more. The devs did say you can make your own campaigns that can be a hundred hours plus with their tools. So that is promising.

Wait...Warhammer 40,000 is turn-based? I thought that was the team-based shooter, primarily looking like a WH40k capture the flag.

I might have to look into this then.

Dude, this series of games has been out for about two years now. there was even Coop play in some of the earlier releases but they stopped making Coop for some odd reason.

36. Re: Steam EU Refunds Now Available Mar 18, 2015, 15:10 Darks

Gamers who buy games and feel that the game does not deliver what they were paying for or have issues with the game should be allowed refunds. But there will always be that asshat who will beat the game in a day or two then want the refund.

Maybe Valve should implement a stipulation on seeing how many achievements this person achieved and how much time they spent in that game. Those should be disqualification factors.

Thanks for the info on that inventory mod. I have the following mods installed via MINION.

HarvestMap
Inventory Grid View
Inventory Item Borders
LoreBooks (I read EVERYTHING)
Mundusmap
SkyShards
Slightly Improved Experience Bar
SoftCapInfo
TreasureMaps
Wykkyd's Full Immersion

All found from that previous mod link, install Minion software and it will install them for you. Then you can check and uncheck the mods in the menu in the game before you load. If they are in RED on the menu in game, they are out of date and may not work.

OOh, harvest map, need to check that out.

Be careful of the harvest map. I know earlier version wold start causing a lot of screen lag because of all the location data. Not sure if thats fixed now.
