I could never get past the idea of Korea taking over all of Asia and China being perfectly fine with it.

Hope they do something more interesting with the story this time around than trot out every single military occupation cliche.

Originally before this game was released and in development they changed who the enemy was, it was originally the Chinese, but even that is preposterous. The Chinese, hell not even the Russians have enough Navy or transports to pull off an invasion of the US. In fact the US is the only standing power on earth that can invade anywhere on the planet with the full force of its military.

So yea, some morons who originally were developing the game were pressured to not antagonize the Chinese by making them out to be a bad guy. Thatís a joke in itself, because they are not our ally.

Now that it's out of beta, i'm quite enjoying it. And Carbine appear to be doing a wonderful job communicating, and stomping out early access issues.

Does it do anything new? No. Who cares? Is it fun? Sure.

runs at 60fps w/all eye candy up, looks great,

Iím sure it runs very well at 60 frames. Why shouldnít it, its running on older tech. These guys are using the same tech they build WOW with over 10 years ago. So it damn well better run at a high frame rate.

I tried it a couple of times during beta. The overall goofy cartoon theme is fun, complete with Unreal Tournament style voiceovers for kills and such, but man was I bored by the third area. It's WoW in space. Seriously. Yeah, the combat is a bit of Tera thrown in, but I just could not force myself to keep playing.

If it was buy to play, free to play, or free with a sub, maybe I would fire it up once in a while. But $60 with a $15 monthly sub? No, not interesting enough for me to shell out that kind of dough for it.

This is how I felt to playing this game. I just could not get into it or bare to play it anymore. it bored me to tears. Not a game I thought it was going to be or wanted it to be.

Yes, ESO at 30 dollars is a great deal and a much better game if you ask me.

All I can say about this is, this is why these assholes take advantage of you all and charge these kinds of ridiculous prices for early access. I donít mind spending money on a game, but not being raked over the coals at the same time too.

Really?

1. Everyone has a price threshold that they are willing to pay. It's not being taken advantage of if you're WILLING to pay it. The product has THAT value for THAT purchaser.

2. This is a game by a gaming legend that couldn't get traditional funding. As the saying goes, vote with your wallet, and people are voting early and often to show their support for this game and this genre.

3. As mentioned, this is the way the KS was structured, and it's early access. It's specifically designed to raise revenue so the game can be finished. If the price doesn't meet your threshold, wait. It's really that simple, and there's no need to call David Braben and asshole.

Really Darks, what is with you lately?

PMS dude, anyway, all I was saying is that if you guys keep empowering these guys by submitting to the high price of early access. All youíre doing is telling the developers itís okay to do this because you guys are willing to buy into it. I donít mind playing 50 bucks a price thatís over their original cost. But I donít pay for betas access. Never have and never will. Iím not telling anyone here they shouldnít do it. That is me and how I feel about it.

Someone said, this was like paying for future DLC. I didnít see anything on their site that said; hey you are guaranteed free DLC because you paid more. Iím sure these guys are stand up guys and good. But I just see how paying more for a game then itís worth justifies that price.

Id say 150 bucks for the full game + all the dlc, expansions etc. is not really that much. Especially as its not really for everyone, just the fans and people who want to support the development of the game.
Exactly
I've had no problem paying that $50 for the devs because I think their work is awesome and they deserve the "tip"
Paying that extra $50 for BF Premium was a big fucking mistake I wish I could go back on.

Yes, you guys are the ones living in fear, me I don't care. Because at the end of the day I know I have nothing to worry about. Do you?

What a load of bullshit, You have to play a human as the opposing player and you cant play against the AI. THIS IS NOT COOP!!!

Edit: Okay, so Iím being told that AI takes over the Enemy spot if you have three human players in the game they are saying that it does not show AI. But AI does in fact take that spot over. I guess Iíll find out when I get a chance to play with others.
That's weird. So 3 players can play against the AI, but not 2?

I'm not sure about a third needing to be in the game yet. but im betting that the answer is yes.

So has anyone actually watched the movie?

Please no spoilers, but is it any good? For reference I thought that Cloverfield was a piece of shit film and hoped throughout the entire movie that the monster would excrete and set off a giant nuclear device so that everyone could be put out of their misery...The Godzilla '98 with Ferris Bueller was okish although the intro and the interveiw wih the japanese sailor: Gojira, Gojira....was the highlight of that particular movie, its kind of downhill from there...

I saw it and loved it, although they could have done a few things differently to make it even better it was still a very good movie. So, itís worth seeing and you wont be disapointed. They are already planning the sequel.

If this is true and if. Then it only means that Rock Star does not have anything new to release and they need income. Because I don't see how they would release this game any other way. Especially after 4 years.

ColoradoHoudini wrote on May 8, 2014, 13:04:
Nobody in the community is calling it a WoW killer.. nobody who is worth listening to is that dumb. It will be a better raiding game for hardcore players who want a challenge, that I will say for sure. In fact, Blizzard already came out and tried to mention how their raids are more accessible, for everyone.. etc. I saw a link the other day.. can't cite at the moment.

Game will sell well..I suppose. I don't know enough there.

I suppose, like most MMOs/big games, there will be issues at launch. I have seen the devs quickly address game-breaking issues in beta though.

The only people I see turning against the game are those that can't get into a raiding guild and do raid content. However, those people won't be level 50 in a month anyhow. Then.. when they hit level 50, if they complain, these are the EXACT people that I've seen in every other MMO who come back with this total absolute horse shit:
- I shouldnt have to play with others to see all content (forgetting how MMOs work)
- Guilds all have issues (right, it's EVERY guild and not you? it's you)
- i hate playing with others ..you should change the game to what I want. (go play a SPRPG)
- why do they have to make the content so hard (you knew that going into the game)
Every reason the complainers have will be garbage, selfish, narrow-minded useless complaints. absolutely rebutted by the community.. and the devs alike.

In fact, someone tweeted the lead dev about lowering the difficulty in the dungeons.. to which his one word reply was "no". This dev house is aiming for a certain harder core demographic at end game. Is it enough to sustain the game for years? Nobody knows yet.. but they're gonna try.

If someone is an MMO gamer (WoW, GW2, Rift, ESO, whatever else).. and wants to play something better.. I'd suggest WS.

EDIT----
Open beta launch trailer.. yes!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k7I1Z6a_FA

Colorado, Let me let you in on a little secret and the rest of those so called Hard Core Raiders. Sure, the game will do well in its first 3 or 4 months. But in the end it will lend up just like WOW. There will be so many complaints about how hard the Boss fights are and the Raids requiring 40 people that in the end, the developers will have no choice but to change this and bring the game to the entire audience. This is what happened to WOW and why WOW made the changes they did.

You cannot cater an MMO to just the Hard core Raiders, because you are cutting your own throat in the end. Most will end up leaving the game and all that will be left is the Hard Core gamers. And that will not be enough to save this game from its own short sightedness. If they donít have enough people subscribing then they are dead in the water. And so will your 40 man raids.

Blizzard saw this coming and what was happening to the game that is why they changed the game into what it is today. MMOs whether you think so or not are not made for just the Hard Core games. You need to make a game where all can play and enjoy it. If they donít, good luck trying to keep this game a float.

Trust me, thereís really nothing to get excited about in this beta. I tried it and I just could not get into it. It felt too much like WOW and at the same time like I was playing some toon land kiddie game.
