It suddenly becomes very clear why it has taken so long.
Figure $500,000 a year - AS LONG AS THEY ARE WORKING ON THE GAME.
Joe & George are pulling down $100k each of that. FOR DOING JACK SQUAT.
Why on earth would they finish the game? They will continue the charade till the money runs out and then say "It's not our fault. We lost our funding. As we were SO CLOSE!"

| I lost all respect for him when he was reported bragging about how much money UO was making. He didn't seem to care that the game was pretty much unplayable and a bad deal for the player. |

| Agreed. I suck at Generals and Zero Hour, but that's not the games fault. Each variation has it's pros and cons, but there's not one clearly dominating choice. (Wish there were. I might actually win a game.) |

| Quake 4 is a great game. I really think that people who trash it don't really understand that it's not supposed to be deep, or non-linear, or stragegic. It's supposed to be a firefight. And at that, it excells. |

| D3D was nowhere near the first MP game. I don't even think DOOM was the first. But say it was, then there was Descent, Rise of the Triad, Heretic, Hexen, and then perhaps D3D. Calling DOOM's mp "hacked" is ignorant bordering on stupid. And if we're honest, none of those games were really "online" games. If by "online" you mean playable over the net. That distiction went to Quake. (Or more accurately, Quakeworld.) |
