You've made the mistake of blaming a dev for the publisher rushing a product. Okay, you could say the dev knew how long they had to make the game but do you really want devs to rein in development so they can actually MEET TARGETS?

If you go to the burger place would you rather wait a little longer for your burger or will you eat the raw burger now? If the cook would rather you wait but the owner wants to rush out the burger, who's at fault? I suspect you, for wanting the raw burger.

Oh, they patched the game. It was playable. Not great but better than a lot of other stuff.

Batman's okay. He's just not that smart. You shouldn't judge him by human standards. His chimp relatives think he's way cool.

Zeph, though, makes amoeba turn away and shake their "heads". Just another of the clueless trolls who come here and represent without anything to back themselves up. Like the rest he'll grow tired of misunderstanding words and evading concepts. I predict a "I'm too smart for you here" swansong and then a big deal of nothing while we forget why we never remembered him in the first place.

To reiterate - I like Batman. He's so dumb it makes my groin warm.

Since I'm drunk I didn't read more than ten of those words but it looks like you were putting down Batman.

Well that's all well & good, and understand that you are actually insulting a child-minded adult who actually, purposefully chose the name "Batman".

Now this was before the cool movie, so we can't blame it on that. It's just a child-minded boy who dreams of actual vigilantes or something. WHo knows. BUt just look at this kid's name & INSTANTLY realize that no matter what he says it should never be taken seriously.

KAPOW! BOOM!!!! dannananananananana BATMAN! dnananananananana BLAM! BLAMO! KABOOMAPOW!

You sir, are a stupid little child inside of a man's body. Batman... batman indeed.

I used to post like this until I joined my 12 step program.

Now I work all this out of my system telling drunks how pitiful they are and slapping my fist on a fold-out table.

I feel I've grown as a human being.

Though that's more to do with my Weight-Watchers meeting.

Scrapland wasn't made by McGee; they just slapped his name on it after it was completed.

I liked Scrapland. Never finished it but it killed some time. Bought it at budget and got my money's worth. But, like you say, fortunately nothing to do with McGee.

EDIT: Magee was a guy I worked with about 30 years ago.

$20 for 4 - 6 hours. That's one night, maybe two if I go out for dinner. Pass.

How much you going to spend on dinner?

I'm not an expert but isn't a .44 magnum generally a revolver?

Speaking of Dr. Boll - I saw Bloodrayne. It's okay, IMO. Cheaply made but nothing glaringly wrong with it.

So it looks like a mostly harmless games with surprisingly decent graphics.

Not to burst your bubble but I don't think those are actual ingame shots.

EDIT: and release date is 10/10/07 according to the link so plenty of time to churn out a game based on an existing engine.

Yeah like the fans said, the first season was good, the second not so good to start but picked up recently. A game would be a challenge. You can't give away any of the plot so you're either going to retread what we've already seen on TV or you have to explore a little "bubble" of activity away from the main action.

Could always go back in time and touch on the Dharma group setting up the bases in the first place - suppose you were a contractor working for them and didn't exactly know WHAT you were building. And what would the Dharma guys do to keep you from finding out... There's a story to be had there I think.

MS may be doing some damage into Sony's market dominance, but Sony has a fucking MONSTROUS fanbase that will buy their console regardless.

Nope, not true. You don't sell 100 million consoles by appealing to a fanbase, you do it by becoming a virtual commodity item. The life cycle of the next generation HD DVD isn't right for inclusion in a console. ie consoles came out with CD drives around the time DVD players were coming out. They didn't get DVD drives until the DVD market had well and truly taken off. Cost was the major reason. Consoles cost the manufacturers money (even at the announced PS3 prices) and they hope to make it up with games. Sony is trying to simultaneously corner the console and the next generation DVD market and if it goes anything like the way they attempted to dominate the handheld media market (with UMD) then they're in trouble.

Want my advice? Don't bother with the campaign in GC2 - it's too repetitive re-doing your tech trees from near scratch every map. The single maps can be fun though. Lots of choices.

EDIT: Tom Jones is actually in the charts in the UK (and prolly Europe) with another of his pop/dance collaboration things. He's got a giant shouty head in the clouds but I think he's cool.

Except Minerva: Metastasis has released two maps that are better than anything in Emergence.

This can't be repeated enough. If you have HL2 and you haven't already you have to play Metastasis.

Roll on Spore. This shit is going to take over my life :/

The idea is cool but do we really know what the gameplay is going to be? Apparently the first few "levels" are like pacman. We get near total control over the race we create but, much like Black and White (1 & 2), what looks cool in a 5 minute video may not actually be all that satisfying as a game. If you look at this guys recent pedigree it's all Sims (personally turned me off because if I want to play doll house I'll just head over to the East Wing where I keep my dollhouse room) which isn't exactly regarded as the best use of a GPU cycle. There's a whole host of ship customization in Gal Civ 2 (interesting policy they have on buying the game second hand - they won't support it. Meh.) but I could care less - I'm into the numbers not the aesthetics. If I'm meant to be delighted with playing with my alien doll then I don't think this "game" is going to do much for me. The later levels with Village sims and UFO assaults look simplified to the point of making claims of consolitis paltry in comparison.
