OSC's Enders Game is (or was) on the recommended reading list for new American officers. He also has a pretty right wing (IMO) column here: http://www.ornery.org/essays/warwatch/index.html

Doesn't look like it's been updated for a while but read some of his past columns and tell me he's a liberal.

I dunno.... running a greasemonkey script just seems a bit weak. For what it's worth I didn't see the post that got him banned but I'm inferring his particular troll chimes with a pet peeve of mine regarding the terrorist state that is Israel. I'm fine with Jews, in fact I'm fine with any religion where 80% of the followers are in secular environments, but Israel and particularly the American relationship with it is why we have modern terrorism.

Can anyone point me at a copy of what he said?

Free speech my ass.

Stargate is the worst of the worst in television SF appealing to the lowest common denominator - hence the popularity. Only the slack-jawed crowd can stomach it.

Over to you Ninja Captain.

22. Re: Wow,, so much useful info. ;) Jun 20, 2006, 17:54 Awesome Spume

I watched the film and was a little underwhelmed. Good for the budget but very much the first of a trilogy. Probably feel better about it when they've made them all.

Will probably get the game if it's even close to Silent Storm quality. Waiting for H&S to hit the bargain bin.

EDIT: Night Watch is on pre-order at Play.com(UK) for 15 quid. Can't be bad to that.
EDIT2!: holy fuck it's not released here until September. When will they learn...

Fans? SS2 came out in 1999 - since then gaming, including PC gaming, has expanded muchly. It's not really about the fans.

And why are they bothered about pornography in prison? Whacking off to that has to be better than the alternative.

Without arguing the rights or wrongs of piracy or the harm it may or may not do to developers we're still going to be looking at a meltdown in PC gaming if piracy is rampant. It's just going to lead to more subscription based gaming and blatant console ports.

There was an RPG I played about fifty years ago called, I think, Road Wars 2000 - I'm hoping this captures a bit of that and of course Car Wars from Steve Jackson games. Diablo-esque is fine by me. Please don't suck...

EDIT oh and mr "In addition to copying the action of Mad Max, the game's title logo is a rip-off of Fallout. I hope that the actual gameplay contains more originality." Screw originality - if it's a combination of Fallout and Mad Max I'm all over it.

56. Re: Soccer Jun 14, 2006, 16:25 Awesome Spume

This World Cup is the first time I've actually sat down and watched soccer. The only thing that really irritates me about the game is players taking a dive.

I can't watch soccer because of this. Bunch of overpaid fairies mincing around a field. Did we ever get over the problem that since the size of the goal was set people have gotten roughly 15% bigger? One of the reasons why it's such a low-scoring sport. I'll watch rugby over soccer any day. All the flow of soccer without the roided up nancies in their body armour that you get in American Football.

EDIT: But like enahs pretty much the only sport I'll settle to watch is the UFC or a good K1 card. Regular kickboxing is usually boring as hell too but the K1 keeps it active.

I'm glad I decided to hold out for the MMO, Age of Conan. With the adult content and the single player journey to lev 20 before you can go online, I think this is the MMO to beat this year.

I'm thinking after that we're due an Anarchy Online 2.
