The same episode that made him try to shut down 2 Live Crew and succeeded with the Parental Advisory stickers. Somehow he must be making a decent living at or else it would be a real waste of a life.

It's a console game from EA. Don't expect much, even with the promise of Sims like qualities.

It also appears to have an entirely Chinese or Korean art/animation department so presumably they're outsourcing. Not that there's anything wrong with that but let's not get too excited.

EDIT: and I'd be more excited about a Black Company game.

Of course there's also the chance it'll actually work. But if you prefer unplugging and plugging on the slim probability you MIGHT buy a faulty UPS then god bless.

I've been using netflix for some time. Cheap dvd's has nothing to do with it. At ~$19 a month I can go through 9-12 movies in a month, more if I really want to.

If only there were actually that many good movies released each month. As is you must be watching 6-9 shit movies each month. Woot 4 U!

Every time you take advantage of a service provided to you, be it a haircut or a shopping trip, somebody is going to be making money off you. An interior designer or an IT consultant makes a greater percentage profit than any gambling firm with customers. Gambling websites make percentage points on billions of dollars. Just like Walmart or GM.

EDIT: Individually the mathematically astute are no more likely to profit from gambling than anybody else. That's the nature of the game. You may be able to look at odds and see that the house wins (like in any other business) but at the consequence of missing out on a 12 to one cert.

The real online D&D game for people that want to simulate table-top is Neverwinter Nights 2.

Remember when Morrowind came out and we were blown away by the free updates? Or, how can you predict what an unreleased game will be like? You sure there won't be a pay to play model for NWN 2? How sure?

I'll be getting it, first day. Because I'd rather look past the many faults in the game (and they are legion, believe me) and find the fun aspects of it. Something most critics seem to forget about in their rush for uberness.

Thus spake the drunk guy who fucked the fat chick.

Just kidding, I'm not implying you've ever fucked.

EDIT: When this comes out, EQ can so kiss my ass...
THIS is what you said when Vivendi signed a development deal with Turbine about Middle Earth Online. Subsequent posts were 90% about Everquest. Your ass will never be kissed.

4. Re: When will it end? Jul 11, 2006, 17:03 Awesome Spume

And once the WOW expansion comes out expect new ones on a regular basis.

Besides, a player joining Everquest NOW isn't going to spend $410 to get all the content.

EDIT: and a better example would be Eve:Online as far as free content and expansions go. Ish.

Not inspired by the Billy Warlock film, unfortunately, but the persistent RTS from Stardock.

EDIT: actually looks very interesting.

Meh. Take a 5 year old sound card and you'll not see much difference in your gaming unless you also have a top of the range speaker system (which could also be 5 years old). Can't really say the same with video cards which are going to have to keep on getting better. The upgrade cycle with sound cards is a figment of the marketeers imagination.

What I dont get is how these guys produced three of the most popular games ever (GTA:3, GTA:VC, GTA:SA) yet managed to get into financial difficulties?!

Take 2 had the bad financials. Rockstar itself is making money.
